Iāve had a decent amount of interest for some of these custom mugs, and I think Iāve worked out a way I could make it feasible to do a small batch of them for those who are interested.
These are pre-fired mugs that are available to me through my local pottery painting place - my original hesitation was in having to allot the time to go and spend 4-5 hours per mug at this place in between a fairly heavy work schedule. I think I can remedy this by just buying a couple of bottles of underglaze myself and do them at home, but taking into account the price of the blank mug itself, they will have to be a little pricier than Iād hope they would be.
Each blank mug is $40, and the time taken on each is roughly 4-5 hrs. Accounting for this I would likely price them at around $100 each - likely paid half prior and half post completion -not including shipping. Shipping itself was also a bit of a hesitation - Iāve had poor luck in the past with overseas shipping, so Iād *prefer* limiting shipping within the US and Canada.
Also to note: Customs would be open for this design specifically. I may be able to add small modifications upon request, but this would be the base design. My original posting showed two different mugs, but the other one was a gift and unless the recipient is okay with it being replicated, this will be the only one available.
Unsure of how many people would actually be interested in one of these - again the prices are higher than I would have liked given cost of materials, and I know shipping is a problematic factor. Ideally, Iād like to do a batch of at least 4-5 to streamline the process. If interested please feel free to reach out or comment below.
