We live in a society that has been colonized and dominated by the church. You do not need to be a Xtian to perpetuate puritanicalism, and you are not immune to propaganda.

A puritan is someone who displays censorious moral beliefs, particularly towards sex and pleasure. Being against kink, or specific kinks that you personally find freakish, is by definition, puritanical, as you are arguing against bodily and sexual autonomy.

Additionally, I am a sex worker, consider shutting the hell up and don't civvysplain to me about constructs that personally affect me.

Also I forgot to mention this community has an antisemitism problem too and the same individual I bitched about with the large platform also frequently spoke over and refused to listen to Jews and Indigenous peoples criticism of its precious tankieism or whatever.

Also one of the people who harassed YFII after suddenly finding out it was intersex kept doing blood libel on random Jews and accusing us of being zionists. One of the people was literally a fucking Doikaytist.

I am genuinely surprised that a website bought out by a literal nazi who did the roman salute on live television and election fraud is better at intersectionality and race issues than tumblr, the literal website known for being extremely queer. How did that happen, chat?

I truly do wish I could come back here but it genuinely feels like the intersex community here especially has so many problems of division. A lot of you let racism run rampant. Some weird subset of you are weird anti-kink puritans. Some of you are intertransmisogynists. Some of you put intersex people into classes of "who's more intersex and who's less intersex."

We have people on here trying to fucking play doctor. There are repeated issues of large community members accepting detailed drawings of people's genitals, whether it's on here, you're posting it or you're receiving them in a discord server.

This community let a pluralphobic transmed act as a community leader for months. For years. This was someone who frequently misused ASAB, was butchmisic towards transmasc butches, is a reddit user, especially on r/transgendercirclejerk, and claimed on more than one occasion that "trans radfems are either not trans or radfems."

This person went to reddit and said, and I quote, directly: "uj/ perisex tumblrites with 1 million mogai flags larping as intersex and bastardizing real intersex activism because they want very badly to call trans women "males"." This was said, albeit, about another member of the community who is most definitely worth criticizing but fakeclaiming is absolutely fucking unacceptable. This statement harms more than the intended target and hurts more intersex people like me who have complicated queer identities BECAUSE OF OUR INTERSEXUALITY.

THIS IS WHO WE HAD AT THE FACE OF OUR COMMUNITY. THIS IS WHO YOU GAVE A PLATFORM. It didn't take until from what I could find, from literally February of THIS YEAR for you all to call it out.

(For clarity, I am not a radfem. I do not support radfems. I however do not fucking support degendering/misgendering trans people. When you tell a radfem they aren't really trans, you are literally doing that.)

So many of you don't care enough about the bastardization and colonization taking place in our community at the hands of intersexists. You don't care enough that decades of evidence and history discussing our oppression have been erased, buried, deleted to a point it doesn't exist anymore, or it's extremely buried and difficult to find. You don't care that intersexists have rewritten history in their favor. You don't care that they've essentially done the equivalent of bookburnings to our history and literature.

You don't listen to victims and survivors of IMV (Intersex Medical Violence), IGM or forced HRT. You put the feelings of perisex people who have erased our history and bastardized our oppression to hell in back above us. The meaning and history of ASAB may not be a big deal to you if you haven't suffered like we have, but it's a big deal to a lot of us who have.

You should care more. You should care about us more. You should make this space better. You should make this space safer. It's not just intersexist perisex people running us off the site. I didn't leave because of perisex people.

I know I'm on a list as one of the people who've gotten run off the site or terminated. I don't mind that. I'm grateful that I was thought of. I just want to make it clear that I left because of the intersex community on here. It is abusive and bigoted members of the intersex community here itself that made me leave.

Hello, I just want to say I enjoyed running this blog, making edits and flags... However I'm taking the advice of another very smart person and I will be leaving this community and permanently leaving Tumblr. It is the best thing for my mental health.

Just to clarify: I am still intersex, but I no longer wish to be a part of "interblr."

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that this community has a lot of issues. Racism. Antisemitism. Transmisogyny. General bigotry. Harassment. Stalking. Block evading. Etc.

And a lot of you need to fix the way you speak to and about minors in this community. Genuinely, I can't believe that some 30+ year old on here thinks it's acceptable to shit-talk a Black minor on a NSFW blog. I'm not elaborating further but some of you are awful. Shame on you.

Even some of you who claim to be "good" or try to do "good" have some sort of fallback or excuse for your behavior or the things you've said. I don't feel safe confronting some of you, and I'm made to feel like an asshole any time I say you've done/said something bigoted. I know I can't simply just block some of you because almost all of you have some super secret alt account where you can just access my blog anyways.

There's no point in blocking any of you if you're just going to go behind a block, screenshot my post and make it all about you when at this point, it is a systemic issue. If you think this is about you, it's because it is. But it's not just about you. It's about multiple people and multiple experiences.

Maybe that's a thing in every community. It seems to be. Maybe I just shouldn't be on social media in general. My blog will remain up for archival purposes but I will no longer be on Tumblr following this post.

ill be honest if your response to an intersex person describing their experiences with being trans is to tell them that theyre not actually trans because one of the "essential" parts of the transgender experience is "navigating the legal system as your agab", as if intersex people aren't one of the most discriminated against and scrubbed out minorities legally, medically, and historically, I think you deserve to have a bad day. Update on the Gender Wiki: Switching Directions

In a reply to the original announcement, a member of Fandom staff informed us that Fandom's decision was final, and the Gender Wiki will be closed on April 13. We will no longer be making an effort to change their mind, because clearly it will fall on deaf ears; Fandom still refuses to give us any real answers (such as to why Gender Wiki staff wasn't consulted before this decision).

However, we will not disappear. The wiki is being archived by WikiBot and should appear on this site within 24 hours, thanks to help from ArchiveTeam. Additionally, I'm working with a few users on a possible project that will organize a public "archive" on Tumblr, in which anyone can post all the information about a given gender and tag it, so the information is not lost and is kept accessible.

The Gender Wiki staff is also currently in conversations about moving the wiki to a public and editable site again. At this point it is most likely that we will move to another site (probably Miraheze), and continue from there. After this experience, our ultimate goal will be self-hosting, but this is still a little farther out than two weeks, as we lack experience with self-hosting and that advanced level of coding. (Experienced advice is welcome.)

I'd like to thank everyone, a thousand times, for all the things you've said, in reblogs to my original post or in signatures on the petition. It makes me so incredibly happy to know that our work on the Gender Wiki has positively affected so many people --- because that was /always/ the goal.

Please, please do not harass any particular people about this, even the user who posted the notice on the Gender Wiki. You can make posts targeted at Fandom as a whole, but don't target or harass any person.

So, on April 13, the Gender Wiki as we know it will be no more. But it will NOT be lost forever. We will NOT disappear. We will be coming back, and we hope to see you all there. I'll continue to post updates as things become clearer and plans are put in action.

Please Help Save the Gender Wiki

UPDATE: Fandom has told us that their decision is final, and the wiki will be deleted on April 13. (I shouldn't have to say it, but please do not harass anyone about this.)

Hello, Tumblr. I've never posted here, only lurked. But this is one of the most important things in the world to me, and I honestly need to ask you for help. Please reblog if you can.

This will be a long post. It will be summarized with a TLDR at the end, including ways that you can help.

With over 9,200 pages, we are the biggest collection of gender identities on the Internet, especially the biggest source that is readily available. We are a community that has existed since 2009, and has taken off in terms of growth in the last few years.

Today, Fandom decided to close the Gender Wiki. We were given absolutely no warning, and they've only given us a two-week deadline to move the entire wiki to a new host, which we are utterly unprepared to do. The download would also not include any of the 17,000+ images on the Gender Wiki, many of which do not exist anywhere else on the Internet.

Fandom staff says that they won't continue to host our wiki because it "spreads harmful misinformation". They believe we have gone too far in "positioning everything as a gender identity", referring to xenogenders. They mention pages with xenogenders referring to suicide/self-harm and violence --- which we, the staff members, were /already/ in the process of deleting before this notice was given to us. They decided that the best solution was not to ask us to delete those pages, or even delete the pages themselves, but instead to remove our entire database.

There are many other wikis on Fandom with much worse references to violence than the Gender Wiki, which Fandom appears to have no problem with whatsoever.

I cannot express enough that this is erasure, and it will absolutely negatively affect the LGBTQ+ community to not have this treasure trove of information readily available.

I am an admin on the Gender Wiki, and I can assure you that our entire staff team is already trying to appeal to Fandom staff. I'll add any updates if they decide to respond to us, but they have no yet given staff any more information than the above

PLEASE help in any way you can. Reblog, spread awareness, or sign this petition if you have a Fandom account, OR sign this petition instead if you don't --- please DON'T sign both, as this causes counting problems & can make the point seem less legitimate. (NOTE added Apr 1: The archiving project is on hold because we've lost the archiving site for an unknown reason. Pages don't Archive correctly. I will update soon with more info.) Archive any Gender Wiki pages, especially ones that don't have pages elsewhere, with the Wayback Machine or alternatively archive.is, or even write posts about them here or on other sites. Archives will be organized on this spreadsheet; please include the archiving site you used so they can be found later. Please help us save this information. It can't possibly be done this quickly without help.

TLDR: Fandom staff decided that, in two weeks, they will close the Gender Wiki, the biggest gender resource on the Internet. They gave us no warning. It will be impossible to save all of the information on the wiki.
