@into-the-roblivion
I hate that spoiler so much because first of all, we’re potentially making Liv A)believe she had sex and B) when she doesn’t remember and C) when she doesn’t want to. It’s once again not only threatening her with sex but making her believe she’s had it and in such a traumatic way. And it’s likely all lies and misunderstanding. And it’s going to make Aaron spiral and go into Overprotective Big Brother mode to the EXTREME and it’s going to be horrific.
Just…why was any of this needed? She’s already had her near death rock bottom moment. She wants help and she’s been to a meeting. She can struggle and be tempted sure but why is something like this even needed? What purpose is it actually serving? I don’t understand.
Really wish they wouldn’t use Liv’s asexuality in this way, it feels so badly handled!
And Aaron kicking her out is the last thing she needs, because what a drunk doesn’t need is to feel even more alone. Mandy is being spiteful too. Basically I just want to scoop liv up and look after her because it feels like everyone is turning their back!
ive made up my own headcannons for liv based off the roblivion days to such an extent that now, whenever her characters being annoying I'm like "uh no this is so stupid and out of character the writers are incorrect" and just fix the scene mentally
“Another one bites the dust” featuring the vocals of Liv
A little mean drunk Liv vs kayak boy
–
“You know I used to like you.” Liv said from the sofa after letting Ben into the house.
“Thanks. You’re alright too.” He replied, sitting down at the kitchen table. “Wait, liked?”
“Hmm.”
“Past tense?”
“Yeah I just pity you now. I thought I was pathetic but you’re way worse than me. It’s weirdly comforting really.”
“Excuse me?”
“The way you keep chasing after Aaron when he barely knows you exist… That’s a whole new level of pathetic.”
“I… You… What… That’s not… How it is. We like each other. We have a laugh. Getting to know each other.”
“Hmm.”
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Don’t hold back now. Just say what’s on your mind.”
“No I wouldn’t want to make you cry.”
Ben scoffed.
“I can handle myself, thanks.”
“I don’t know… You’re not very smart are you? Or perceptive.”
“Excuse me?”
“The way you think Aaron is actually into you. Do you call him your boyfriend? Did you put little love hearts behind his name in your phone?”
“What?”
“Do you know what the wallpaper on Aaron’s phone was until recently? A picture of him, Robert, and Seb on their wedding day.”
“So? Nothing wrong with nostalgia, is there?”
“He only changed it because I called him out on it.”
Ben shrugged.
“So. It’s a picture on his phone.”
“Sure. But he still has a lot of Robert’s stuff too. And their wedding rings and pictures. There is a whole photo album of their wedding. I’m sure he’ll be happy to show it to you.” Liv sat up and gave him a self satisfied smile.
“So? People keep stuff from their ex all the time.”
“Yeah, they do.” Liv agreed. “And you know what else Aaron has kept of Robert’s? His heart. And Robert has his. As long as Robert is alive, you won’t stand a chance.”
Ben sat back in his chair and crossed his arms in front of his chest.
“And I’m supposed to just believe everything you say? Especially after you downed a bottle of vodka.”
Liv rolled her eyes and lay back down.
“Fine. Don’t believe me. Just go on pretending Aaron is into you and you’re all happy together.”
“We’re fine. We’re just getting to know each other. I was going to ask him to come to pride with me next week actually. As my boyfriend.”
“Hmm.”
“Now what?”
“Nothing.”
“Doesn’t sound like nothing.”
“No… just enjoy your little fantasy world while it lasts, the second Robert comes home, he’ll have forgotten all about you.”
Ben didn’t know what to say to that so he just kept quiet. Ten minutes later Aaron got home, wound up tight and a face like thunder, and picked a fight with him.
“Just go home, you’re doing my head in!’
Emmerdale Pitch Meeting
So I hear you have a new story for me?
Yes sir, I do. It’s an Aaron story.
Great! People love Aaron. He’s been through a lot though, how are we going to make this new and fresh without Ro-
Well you see we’re just going to put him in a new relationship.
Right. Okay because he’s been through too many other things at this point to do anything new and fresh so this is all that’s left?
Exactly. So we’re going to bring in this new guy.
And is he going to be some new dynamic character that really brings a spark to the village? Someone that could rival Ro-
So Aaron and this new guy, Ben, have “history”.
Oh okay…why are you doing that air quote thing?
See Aaron used to bully Ben when they were in school together for being gay.
Oh, well that seems like a solid foundation for a new relationship. I see no problems there at all.
Oh well it causes problems for sure because this is Aaron.
Right, we do like to cause him pain and make him cry. So does it take this guy Ben a long time get over seeing his school bully again? I feel like this should be a major obstacle to the idea of them dating?
No, it’s super easy, barely an inconvenience. See they just have one drink together and Aaron says some vague stuff about Gordon and Ben talks about how horrible Aaron made his life back then and how it made him want to die but by the end of the drink they’re sorted and ready for a kayak date.
Kayaking?
Well you see Ben is a kayak instructor.
Kayaking?
Yes, kayaks. Don’t worry, we’re going to have every other character on the show mock kayaks at some point to make up for it.
Great! So what happens on this kayak date?
Oh they don’t actually go because Aaron gets a letter telling him his divorce is finalized and he’s got to angrily play video games instead.
Retreating into video games instead of dealing with your problems is tight! So how does this new relationship go then? Is it a slow burn while he’s trying to get over Ro-
Oh well it’s nothing really at first, just a series of false starts and apologies and failed plans to get another drink and Aaron is SUPER grumpy the whole time.
Does Ben like grumpy Aaron the way Rob-
Actually, he kind of seems to hate it and he eventually breaks up with Aaron in the middle of the street and calls him toxic and tells him he needs to sort out his life.
Wow wow wow wow! Wait…were they even dating?
I don’t know.
So what happens next?
Well Ben’s going to disappear off screen for 4 and a half months.
Wait what? Doesn’t that ruin any kind of momentum for the story?
Listen, I’m going to need you to get all the way off my back about this okay? Let’s just vaguely blame Covid all right?
Right, so when he shows back up after 4 an a half months are things tense? Does Aaron even remember this guy? It’s not like he was even a significant rebound after Ro-
Well the first thing Aaron does is snap at him and then they apologize and make vague plans for a drink.
So they’ve picked up right where they left off.
Not exactly, see they just kind of ignore that whole toxic speech and instead everything is just focused on Liv because she’s drinking again and Ben wants to help.
I’m not sure how we got here but why would Ben want to help this guy he called toxic and hasn’t spoken to in over four months?
Well you see, oddly enough, Ben’s dad is an alcoholic so he has the relevant experience.
Oh fair enough. So while Ben is helping out, do he and Aaron find any time at all to talk about what the two of them are now?
No no, they’re VERY focused on Liv, it’s pretty much the only thing they talk about because she’s gone missing now but Ben’s got all the answers.
Because his dad is an alcoholic?
Because his dad is an alcoholic. Anyway, so Ben is really nice and supportive and he’s just going to be in every scene with Aaron from now on and constantly in the Mill and following him around everywhere and using words like “we” and “us” all the time and-
Did we skip a few scenes? Are they a couple now?
Unclear. But he’s just basically glued to Aaron’s side now so it’s sort of like they’re in a relationship but Aaron doesn’t know it. Oh and Ben and Liv are super close now too and she has him on speed dial.
Oh Liv’s back?
Yeah they went on a road trip together to fetch her from her Sandra’s caravan. It’s not important because there’s this other story that’s been going on simultaneously.
Oh story crossover, that’s tight!
Yeah so it turns out that Victoria and Luke’s relationship is imploding.
No one saw that coming.
No one sir. So it turns out that Luke might be gay or bi, we don’t like labels right now so that’s not relevant but he used to be with this guy Stephen and they wanted to move in together and so Luke needed to tell Wendy but Lee got home first and in addition to being a rapist, he’s also homophobic so he beat Luke up when he tried to tell him about Stephen but Luke fought back and hit him and Lee falls to the floor and hits his head and all of this is on the same day he got whacked with a shovel.
Wow wow wow wow…wow! So can I mention Robert now?
Now you can mention Robert because EVERYONE else is. There are going to be so many Robert mentions the fans are going to be sure he’s returning, especially because Wendy has become Robert’s number one fan and is trying to get him out of prison early no matter the cost to her own son.
Is he returning? Because people would really like that.
No, there are no plans in the immediate future.
Oh okay. So does Aaron find out about all of this?
He does. Once Victoria finds out, she dumps lying Luke and goes straight to Ethan who has already told Wendy that none of this information will help Robert anyway but she gets him to admit he’s not 100% sure so she’s going to go see Robert to tell him. But first she drops round the Mill and kicks Ben out to tell Aaron all about it and Aaron sort of freaks out and storms out.
Sounds very in character.
Yeah, so then when we see him again, he’s with Ben and he’s having a very strong reaction to all of this and ranting about how he wants to destroy the Posners for ruining his life and Robert’s life.
Wow if I were Ben, I’d be backing off now because it seems like Aaron is really not over his ex.
We’re not really into using logic here. Anyway, so Vic is going to ask Aaron to come with her to see Robert.
He could get to see Robert again after all this time? Does he go?
Well he’s going to go reassure Ben instead that he wants him and not Robert and-
Has Aaron shown any actual interest in Ben thus far?
Not really, but this is the story we’re telling and Aaron was really hurt when Robert cut him off so now he wants to make things with Ben official.
So instead of telling an actual story about Aaron and Ben meeting and getting to know each other and dealing with Aaron moving on from Robert we’re just going to use the short hand of Robert being an immediate threat to push Aaron and Ben together?
Well this was just easier sir.
Fair enough.
So that’s it for now, what do you think?
I think the fans are going to love it, especially all of these Robert mentions. I’m sure none of them will feel betrayed when he doesn’t return.
i wish liv would’ve told sandra she’s ace… but i guess we’re only focusing on the booze and the epilepsy now
Happy Pride Month!
I’m glad that they didn’t really go anywhere near Liv contemplating sleeping with Max. I don’t even think that was on her radar even though she invited him back to her place, which I actually think works really well for her.
not that im the biggest Gabby fan but her and Liv could reallyyyy use each other right now

@isabellaofparma I got you 😉🤣
this is a little something (or maybe the start of something) that i’ve had saved in my drafts for a few weeks - and originally planned to use for robron week, but then another idea took over.
it’s Liv relapsing without 50 close ups of a bottle of wine.
—-
“Rob… I uh… I think I need your help.” Liv said softly,
The house was quiet, meaning Aaron had probably taken Seb somewhere so Robert could work in peace.
He looked up from his computer.
“Help? Help with what?”
The bottle was heavy in her bag as she lifted it up by the strap.
“Your bag?”
She shook her head and pulled out the bottle of vodka and put it on the table.
“Oh. Did you buy that?”
“In Hotten. Yesterday.”
“Right.”
“I haven’t opened it… But I’m afraid I will.”
Robert saved his work and closed his computer.
“Ok. What do you want me to do?”
“I need you to get rid of it. I’m afraid I’ll drink it… I don’t think I’m strong enough to stop myself right now.”
Robert got up from the sofa and grabbed the bottle.
“Ok… Can you handle it being in the fridge?”
Liv shook her head.
“I don’t think so… I’m sorry.”
“Hey don’t apologise. You’re asking for help instead of just knocking that bottle back. I can’t imagine how hard that is. But you’re making that choice now and I’m so proud of you for that.”
Liv gave him a weak smile and Robert saw the unshed tears in her eyes.
“I’ve got one of those crates from Tesco in my car, can you get it for me? The keys are in my jacket.”
Liv nodded and wiped at her eyes before doing what Robert asked of her.
When she returned with the crate, Robert put the bottle in and started collecting the rest of the alcoholic beverages in the house and put them in there.
“That’s Aaron’s beer. You can’t throw that out. He loves that stuff. He’ll be all mardy with you for days.”
“I’m not throwing it out, I’m just putting it somewhere safe.” He said, pulling a final bottle from the fridge. “And he won’t mind when I explain why I did it.”
“I’m sorry.” Liv sniffed. “You should just be able to have a beer or a glass of wine with dinner.”
“If we really want to we can go to the pub for that. And we can drink water or just about anything else with dinner. I can survive without a glass of wine if it helps you get through a tough time and I’m sure Aaron will feel the same.” He decided. “So no more apologising. We’re here for you. Whatever you need, alright?”
Liv nodded and watched Robert walk out the door with the crate, biting her lip trying to stop herself from breaking down completely.
Robert walked a few steps, then put the crate down, rang the doorbell and waited for someone to open up.
“Robert. Hi. We’re not behind on rent are we?” Charles asked, surprised to see one of his landlords outside his flat.
“No, don’t worry, everything is fine. I just have a favour to ask you.”
“Alright. Shoot.”
Robert bent down and picked up the crate.
“Would you mind looking after this for us for a bit?”
Charles eyed the bottles.
“Erm… Is everything alright?”
“Aaron and I are fine… But Liv is having a hard time right now so we’re just… Making things a little easier for her.”
“Ah. I see.” Charles said and took the crate from Robert. “If there is anything else I can do to help, just let me know.”
“Thanks. I will.” Robert promised. “Oh and only give it back to me or Aaron please.”
“Of course.” Charles promised. “Tell Liv I’m praying for her to get through this rough patch without too much trouble.”
“Thank you.” Robert said and went back to their own flat.
Liv was sitting on the sofa just staring straight ahead. She was picking at her hands and wiping them on her jeans and just a ball of nervous energy.
“There. Done.” Robert closed the door, making her jump. He sat down in the armchair, giving her space while at the same time showing her he was there to listen if she wanted to talk. “So… do you want to tell me what made you buy that bottle?”
