This a song by Carl Wilson from his YoungBlood album which came out in Feb 4, 1983.... it was written by Billy Hinsche. This wasn't a commercially successful album, BUT this album was in a crate in my grandfather's vinyl collection when I was discovering new music. He had such eclectic taste and range when it came to artists. When I put this record on the turntable... This is the song that spoke to me as a kid.
Song written by Diamond Stylz (except for the interpolation of Linger, which is by Delores O'Riordan and Noel Hogan All vocals and arrangements by Diamond Stylz Music by @yogicbeats
This song was inspired by a beautiful conversation I had with an ex.  We always hear about the love that’s fresh and new. This song is about that old lingering love you have for someone once y'all both are older and not together, but both y'all want each other happy.  I was trying to make something with a Robert Glasper vibe, my bossa nova and this is what I came up with.

Diamond Stylz Presents:
This is a song by Stevie Wonder from his 1979 soundtrack called the secret life of plants. This album was a departure from his classic pop music like the song from songs in the Key of life, which was his most commercially successful album. This is my favorite song by Stevie Wonder when it comes to his voice I love how he sounds on his version. Please go take a listen if you don't know the song... Of course the song has themes of nature & flower but it also has themes of Greek mythology, particularly Pan who is a Greek god of the wild. To me flowers is of course, soft and feminine and pan being half goat and more rustic is a little bit of the masculine so I wanted to do something that kinda reminds me of a duet between my agile feminine falsetto and the depth and color of my baritone. The arrangement is pretty much the same but I played around with the melody, harmonies, and ad lib my way. I think it gives it a unique sound while honoring the original piece. I hope you enjoy.

Cover of Give Me The Night by George Benson All Vocals by Diamond Stylz
I have always loved this song by George Benson. It is a classic Quincy Jones  Rod Temperton collab ..... but I also love that it reminds me of some of the Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards classics too so I dashed a few of those lil nuggets in there. ... one of my influences is singing in a chamber singer style choir and so I'm always gonna do that kind of vocal arrangement when I'm playing with a song
Black Cis and Trans Women Sisterhood: Finding Common Ground
In a time where visibility is currency and conversations travel faster than care, Black women across social media, cis and trans, finds ourselves once again navigating a familiar territory: How are we catching strays from a conversation that dont got shit to do with us? Recent discussions sparked by EJ Johnson’s interview with Carlos King have reignited tensions between cisgender and transgender…

Jill Scott has me in my poetry bag with her new album......so I wanted to do something that was like Neo soul and spoken word and this is what I came up with.....after listening to her song pressah..... It was so relatable to me... Now the themes of this song have nothing to do with that song, but the relatability across identities made me wanna write some type of spoken word piece about other relationship what I was thinking this week .....and this is what I came up with ....it's really about calling cis women in to understand that we're not each other's enemies .....and that our clash is not rooted in jealousy or envy, we really got bigger fish to fry...and while we have clearly difference as we navigate the world, we are gonna have some of the same pressuresÂ

Cynthia Erivo and Misty Copeland: Artistic Collaboration Unveiled
I just watched Cynthia Erivo and Misty Copeland’s collaborative video, a stripped-down, haunting rendition of “No Good Deed” from Wicked: For Good, is an absolute triumph of artistic fusion. Erivo’s raw, powerful vocals are accompanied only by a violin and cello, drawing the listener deep into Elphaba’s emotional turmoil with an intimate intensity that differs from the usual sweeping…

I wanted to take a crack at writing a gospel song and this is what I came up with. An uplifting anthem that reminds us that when we stay in firm in the unwavering power of the Lord, it is a declaration of faith finding confidence, not just in ourselves, but in the safety and strength of his presence, let the song be a reminder that with him you can face any storm.
Written by Diamond Stylz All Vocals By Diamond Stylz Track by Justin Atherley Verse I Walk by faith and not by sight Knowing everything gonna be alright Be alright Not worried about the enemy No weapon formed against me shall see prosperity Lord I put it all in your hands Lord I give it all to you
Chorus Just to Be Standing in the Power X3 Just To Be Standing in the Power X3 Just To Be
Verse II The name of the Lord is a strong tower That the righteous run to. So don’t you worry Don’t you ever X 3 dismay He will Protect you and be your refuge Just Trust Him Owe it all to you Lord I give it all to you
Chorus
Be Strong in the Lord In the Power of His Might X2
Chorus Repeat and Adlibs
What'll I Do
This is a cover of  "What'll I Do"  (Lisa Hannigan Cover) from Passenger album I've always loved the quiet power of  Lisa Hannigan's voice, and "What'll I Do" is one of my favorites.  For my cover, I wanted to explore the song' with a grittier vocal performance. This version is a tribute to the original. Let me know what you think in the comments below! #LisaHannigan #CoverSong #SoulMusic #AcousticCover #NewMusic
