Introduction: Hello Baby!
The screen went from black to a fuzzy blue, wobbing a bit before there was a loud click.
"How do you turn this thing on?"
"I think the blinking red light means its on, Mus."
"This one?"
"Oh, biscuits! " It's recording!"
"You're so cute. Aww, look! I'm filming your tummy! Don't worry, baby! Papas tummy has always been cute!"
"Oh, hush. Should we start over?"
"Naw, we'll cut it in post if we need to!"
"Ok. Ok…" He sighed before the camera panned up to Patton's face. "Hey, baby. We're so excited to meet you! I'm your Papa! And I already know I love you so much. I'm so so proud of you. And no matter what you put your mind to, you're going to do great."
"Yeah!" The camera spins around to Remus. "You could be a great Daredevil, or a garbageman or bank robber! Whatever you put your mind to you'll do great cause you're gonna have my spunk and your papa's winning smile that'll get you out of any trouble!"
"Remus!"
"Oh, and you'll have us to support you. I'll bail you out of jail. Patton will drive you home if you get drunk. We'll always be there for you."
"Though that shouldn't be for a long, long time." Patton pulled the camera back from him. "No underage drinking, my young impressionable offspring! But if you ever need us, we will be there for you. And that's part of why we're making these vlogs! So just in case we're not right there to teach you some important things, you'll have these to look back on! I'll show you my cookie recipe, and Remus will show you how to repair holes in the wall. And this way we'll make sure we don't miss anything!"
"I'll even film a birds and the bees talk!"
"You definetly will not!"
Remus pulled the camera right up to his face. "Illtellyouallaboutit."
"Give me that!"
The two laughed as the camera swayed back and forth as Remus ran away through their grassy back field. Then Remus dropped the camera, which rolled upside down as Patton caught up to him. Patton pounced into Remus' arms and kissed him as they spun.
Then Remus set him down and let them share a softer kiss, up until his hand crept down to goose his husband, earning him a surprised shriek.
"Good morning, baby! I'm gonna show you how to make your Papa's favorite muffins. Now this is a secret, so I'm trusting you, ok?" Remus smiled at the camera. "First off, ensure you have a spider-free kitchen; they ruin the vibe. Next, wash your hands, especially if you just itched your butt with them. After that, grab out your secret ingrediants."
Remus pulled out some baking ingredients and then a jar from the fridge. "You got your butter, flour, eggs, vanilla, chocolate, baking soda, and salt! And the secret ingredient. Sauerkraut." Remus whispered into the camera. "I made these for your papa as a joke, and not two months later he proposed! I always make them when he's asleep, so he had no idea what's in them. Now it's our secret, ok baby?"
Remus put the camera up and began walking through how to make the treats. They were definitely more cupcakes rather than muffins, not that anyone was complaining. Then there was a small break as they cooked before the camera turned back on as he brought one to his husband.
"Good morning starshine! The earth says hello! Me and the baby made you something!" Remus hummed, crawling into bed beside him.
"Mmm? I was wondering what smelled so good. Baby must be a wonderful cook." Patton smiled sleepily, his hair a mess of bedhead as Remus helped him slip on his glasses. "Aww! You two made me muffins? Thank you!" Patton kissed Remus' head, then pulled the camera in and kissed right above the lens. "You're both so sweet."
"Try it! Try it!" Remus chanted excitedly, then whooped as Patton took a bite.
"Delicious! You and baby are my favorite chefs ever!"
Remus cheered, looking right into the camera. "We make an awesome team!"
Video 3: What's cooking, good-looking? (Your papa is hot!)
"Remus, we aren't calling it that!" He laughed.
"Shhh, we're rolling! Get with the baking, sweetcheeks!"
"And your dada is silly!" Patton stuck his tongue out at Remus behind the camera. "As promised, I told you I'd show you my cookie recipe. Let's get baking!"
"And avoid soggy bottoms!" Remus put on a posh english grandmother's voice, impersonating a baking show.
"Hush! Now one of the secrets to great cookies is creaming the butter and the sugar. Which means you let Mr. mixer here go until the butter and sugar mixture start turning the butter a different color."
"No cream involved? What a rip-off!" Remus boos, then pulls the camera close. "Creaming is also the secret to great other things."
"Then you add the vanilla, a pinch of espresso powder, and say it with me…"
"Eggies!" The two yell, then cackle.
"Then you add the flour and the chalkie chips. Make sure you don't forget about it mixing now cause the flour can become a tough guy if you let him go too many rounds with Mr. Mixer."
Remus zooms in on the flour. "You think you're so tough."
When the camera pulls back out, Patton is snickering with his apron covered in flour.
"Then roll into balls and pop in the oven at 350 for 8 minutes." Patton instructs.
There is a quick cut to the two laughing and dancing, with Remus dropping down to do the worm.
"Take it out of the oven and top it with a little sea salt if you're being fancy!"
"Who are we kidding? Of course you're fancy, baby!"
"And there you have it! Your Papa's chocolate chip cookies if I'm ever not around to make them for you. We love you so so much, baby! We're proud of you. And you can do anyhting you put your mind to!"
"Including tax evasion!"
"You can… but maybe don't do that. Ok, we love you!"
"Hey Vee, we finally picked out your name! Yay us! But because you're our child, you'll probably go through a wall at least once in your life, so here's how to fix it!" Remus spins the camera to show a hole in the wall at the bottom of the stairs. "Your papa did this when showing me what he learned at the self-defense night."
Remus showed off some presto patch, a sanding block, a knife, and joint compound. "Now the first thing we do to fix a little hole? That's right! Cut a bigger hole! Use the template to find how big, then use a nice knife to just saw it out. Then we're gonna sand it flat, before popping the patch in! Then we mix the compound and smooth it over, trying to make sure we gon't get wall bumps. It'll take a couple layers, and let it dry in between. It is really boring, but it's worth it, I promise. But lucky you, you get to time skip. Whoooooa!" Remus pretends to eat the camera.
Then he spits it back out. "Ooh! Don't worry, I'm not Cronos! Baby Vees are not on my diet. But you know what is on my diet? Your papa's pretty lips when he smiles, so let's get this repair done! Just a few more layers of joint compound and sanding, then we paint it over and presto! Where's the hole? That's what she said! Ooooooh!"
Remus pulled the camera close again. "That was a lot funnier before everyone knew I was gay. But don't worry, you're invincible to yo-mama jokes! I'll teach you everything you need to know. Love you, baby Vee! MWAA!!"
"Are you rolling?" Virgil beams as he looks into the camera, bouncing on his toes excitedly. A thumbs up appears from behind the lens. "Ok! Follow me!"
Virgil leads them through his parents' house to where the two are sitting at the table.
"Hey baby bat, what's up?" Remus grins, "Need me to kill this guy for you?"
"Mus!" Patton swats his hand, then looks apologetically at the man behind the camera. "He's just joking. You make our Virgil very happy."
"Dad, Papa… I found those advice videos you made for me." Virgil begins.
"Those old things?"
"I thought we lost that camera!"
"I found it… and… I was hoping maybe you two could help me with something." Virgil grins nervously at the camera.
"Anything!" Patton agrees immediately.
"I'll get the shovels!" Remus moves to stand.
"Dad, no… I… I was hoping maybe you two could give us a little bit more advice because… well." Virgil takes the hand behind the camera. "There's a new baby coming to our family."
Patton's eyes go wide before he shrieks in delight as Remus spits out his drink. "We're going to be grandparents?!"

also can't believe intruality week it's over... I did have a lot of fun in the process!! but i will hibernate for like a month now-

Surprise Duo
It was lonely being the only impostor left. And as such, there was no one to help fix his malfunctioning Orequets, the metallic rings piercing through his lips to keep his acidic glands from overwhelming his senses and causing excessive saliva buildup. That usually led to much worse than just tampered wires or oxygen shortages. It hurt one of the few on the ship that actually cared about him, in his own special way. Humans were already very weird to cyan colored impostor, especially the former co-leader, Blue.
While bunking down at night in the vents, Patton made his way to his "nest" of sorts. It wasn't much; just a couple of pillows, blankets and towels he managed to snag from the Showers area. He snuggled up with Blue's tablet, looking over his detailed logs. Sure, they were mostly just logistical notations but Cyan could feel Blue speaking with every word he read. Especially when he got to the logs about his interactions with the deceased scientist.
"I miss you, Blue. I'm sorry that I hurt you. Had I known my condition was getting worse…"
Cyan's erosive tears started falling, burning through a few of the towels and blankets but Patton didn't care. He just wanted a friend again. No body else seemed to acknowledge him much. Except… maybe that one crew member.
Green wasn't the most… pleasant person to be around. He constantly talked about how cool it would be the see a impostor in person, how they could use him, and even going into extremely graphic detail of how each species might stalk and kill their "prey". Patton just… wasn't at all what Remus would envision but he also didn't want to break the illusion either. That could be just as tragic as losing a friend.
That following night, Cyan was watching a series that was left unfinished on Logan's old tablet before hearing whimpering under the covers. He unstuck his webbed fingers from his face as he pulled back the cover to look down at his sadly trilling abdomen mouth.
"Cecil. Honestly, buddy. Are you really hungry again?"
Cecil spit out a little, slimy tendril, tracing it along the eroded seam of one of the blankets as Patton sighed and sat up. He contemplated it before smiling to himself. What would a little snack hurt? Patton sat up and look through the vent holes to see Yellow nodded off against the control panel. He wondered if he ever told Janus. If he would ever forgive him. From what Patton heard from exchanges between Yellow and Blue, they were so close that they were practically an item. But they never wanted to tell each other. Cyan always wondered why.
After staring at the sleeping form for a bit longer, Patton traversed through the tunnels down Viewing Deck, right next to the Kitchen. Cyan inhaled before lifting the vent up and then lowering it gently back down once he was out. He kept to the wall as best he could until he approached the open door. He sighed in relief when he noticed no one else was around.
Patton went over to cabinet for the honey roasted David's sunflower seeds. Cecil started trilling loudly as Patton shushed them as they fetched their colored themed hydro-flask that Red had ordered for them.
"CY! IS THAT YOU!?"
Fuck. It was that crewmate. Green practically bounced over to Patton. Patton quickly fixed his appearance, placing his broken Orequets back in his mouth.
"O-oh… hi-hi Green."
"It is you! I haven't seen you seen last week! Still crying over that boring ass nerd?"
Green and Blue didn't get along much. Maybe Remus just didn't mesh well with Logan's personality. But honestly, none of them really did. Nobody but Janus and Virgil. And maybe him. He would never know. Logan was gone now.
"Maybe."
"Hmm… those tears running down your face and mouth say a different story. You know if Yellow was up, he would've already caught you in a few, wouldn't she?"
"They are very intuitive, I suppose."
This was Cyan's moment to say something but Remus talking and guiding him further away from the vent area where his cot was, leading him down a ladder to Electrical. Green went into the connection area and sat down.
"This is great hideaway to check cams. I want to know where that pesky fucking IMP went off to~"
Patton's blood ran cold for a few minutes as he peered over Remus' shoulder. He hadn't even considered that cameras were on the ship, let alone that Remus would be the main one that would be looking over them.
"Why would you want to do that, Green? Aren't IMPs supposed to be very dangerous creatures?"
"Oh yes! But I want to see what one looks like up close. I might get killed but that will be so much fun. Their tentacles piercing through my organs, acidic saliva turning my bones into sludge~!"
Patton swallowed thickly, tonguing his invisible Orequets for a moment before speaking.
"What if they don't mean any harm? Isn't it seen as a bad thing for humans to kill animals mercilessly?"
"Yeah, sure. But what makes you think that aliens have the same thought process as us? We are their enemies in a way. Animals on Earth will impale humans without a second thought if they suspect that we are threat to them."
While IMPs had similar protocols for their young, they are very diplomatic and will try to compromise. Most crew deaths come from being startled or as a last resort. But that might be just from how Patton was raised. Patton was a special kind of IMP, a rare sight even for some of the oldest of Impostors. Being a viper was so uncommon that there was nearly impossible to do studies on them. All Cyan knew was that if his Orequets broke, he would have to force himself off the ship. There was no way he would want to intentional harm any of them. And he had already done to one of them. He never wanted that to happen again.
"… and from what I heard, doing their mating season, they will be kill anything their path."
"You have done a lot of research on this, Green."
"Yep! And you could help me too!"
"h-Huh??"
As Remus went on about it, Patton's nerves was starting to make it harder to keep his humanoid form in tact. Plus, he feel Cecil getting restless again. Soon, a small bark noise erupted from Cecil, making Patton and Remus go still.
"Did you just bark without a mouth?"
"Uhh… … yes??"
"That's so cool. You're like a living ventriloquist dummy!"
"I'll try to keep down for n—"
Cecil pushed a tendril against Patton's baggy shirt, which Remus caught nearly immediately.
"Fuck was that, Cy?!"
"I… uhh…"
It didn't take long before Remus' eyes widened and gasped loudly.
"Are you an IM—"
Patton let one of braided "hair" tentacles wrap around Remus' mouth, silencing him as best he could. Cyan sighed.
"Y-yeah… I'm a IMP. Viper specifically."
Remus squealed behind the interlocked tentacle as Patton pulled back his shirt and fed Cecil.
"There. Are you happy now, kiddo?"
Cecil panted happily after eating up the snack. Patton let Remus go and promptly tackled, startling the last of his IMP form out of Cyan.
"Uhh, Remus—"
"YOU ARE ONE! THIS IS FUCKING SICK!"
In his real form, Patton was even smaller than he already was compared to the others. Almost look like Stitch, but with webbed feet and hands, two braided tentacles on top of his head. Remus picked up Patton with relative ease, squeaking him tightly.
"THIS IS SO COOL!!"
"I'm glad… you're not scared… of me… Green…"
Remus put the IMP back down and started drilling a multitude of questions. They weren't very pleasant to hear but Cyan tried to answer them best he could.
"AND YOU COULD DIGEST ME IF YOU WANTED TO?!?!"
"A-a-actually… we are vegetarians…"
"So… what I'm hearing is… I could milk you instead?"
"Lactose makes us… experience that same effect the rest of the crewmates get when they are inebriated."
"Gotcha! Milk makes you drunk!"
It was actually a pretty nice bonding moment between the two. When Remus was about to get up and leave, Patton asked him not to tell the others.
"Of course I won't! I need to see you more!"
"Well, my cot is in the vents in the Cockpit."
"Great. I'll visit the Cock whenever I can."
Patton blinked rapidly as Remus scratched his antennas. It was nice to the point that even Cecil was tittering quietly.
"Thanks, kiddo."
"I'll bring you snacks in the morning. I'll just say that you are tired from looking over cams."
Patton thanked Remus again before he walked off, back to his cot. They had a pact now and would probably grow stronger over time. Maybe even then, Remus wouldn't mind becoming his mate. And later Janus as well. Cyan turned the tablet back on and finished up the season that he had been watching prior, keeping an antenna up just in case his new friend decided to swing by.

Protective
"Clash!"
"What?! He should've been such a sow about it! We are aloud to be together and that relationship remark was just rude!"
"You didn't have to cocoon him!"
"Good thing this is a chrysalis~"
Lily Pond sighed as he calmed down, his body turning back into its original state.
"Calm down, Epididymis."
The disguised changeling breathed deeply before returning back to his usual form. He wasn't entire reformed but had different coloring that resembled that of altered changelings. He was a lot smaller than the average changeling soldier but had better night vision than both original and newer changelings.
"I just didn't like the way he was threatening us. He was very bitter and hateful, Lily."
"I understand, E. But you can't go around chrysalizing everypony that upsets you or me. I don't want them trying to detain you again."
Epididymis nodded as Lily Pond pecked him on his cracked up horn. The other creature slumped his shoulders and stood up to bump horns with his lover. Lily Pond giggled before powering up his horn and breaking the stick shell that the other creature was in.
"How long do they stay in this state?"
"Eh… a couple of hours if I haven't drained too much of their love."
"I suggest we let them go."
"Sure thing, Lily! Just let me wipe their memory and put in another order for those **Rubylite supplements."
Lily Pond nodded and let Epididymis do his thing, while he went to start a warm spring for his partner. They had a good evening and no amount of rude ponies would ruin that for them.

Game Night
It had been a while since the group had come together for a fun night in. Patton should've been used to it by now. He felt like he had betrayed everyone. Logan wasn't really talking to anyone; just shuffled through the fridge for something and then went back into his room. Roman and him hadn't been on good terms in a minute either. Causally conversation was as much as he would get out of Virgil and while Janus was doing better with expressive himself with a disguise, it still hurt that he had been impersonated who knows how many times and that Janus is the reason behind why the others hate him as well.
The only one he couldn't draw a meaningful conclusion on how they would feel about him is Remus. He wasn't nearly as scared of Remus as he used to be but it still felt like the only thing that excited him were things that Patton was not yet comfortable to explore. The closest he ever got to a true bonding moment was when he was about to watch a scary movie in secret and Remus popped up. He laughed awkwardly before handing Remus the remote, telling him he could watch whatever before sinking out back to his bedroom to continue the movie binge.
But tonight should be different, shouldn't it? They were, for the most part, on the same footing now. The hostility had died down, right? Considering that none of the others responded to his messages or to the indirect invite from earlier, he had assumed that none of them would be showing up.
Patton wouldn't let this chill night be ruined though. It would just be a night of playing his favorite games solo. It had been like that for a while. He could probably boot up one of the old video game consoles too and switch in-between card games. Patton smiled to himself as he fed his pet frogs before going to put on his favorite pj's. After he had gather all of what he wanted, he walked the hallway quietly and down the stairs.
However, his night was about to change. One single person had considered the invitation and had been, apparently, waiting for him. Remus was slumped down on the couch, scrolling on his phone with earbuds in. He was actually wearing night clothes, though they were still short and rather… tight. But they were clothes nonetheless.
"U-uh… hey, kiddo!"
"Finally! I thought you would never show up!"
"Well… I didn't think anyone wanted to come since no one responded to my messages."
"Oh, they are still sour pussies about the fact that Thomas and Janny! Don't worry about them, Putty-Putt!"
Patton sat the games down on the table before he went to pop some popcorn, to which Remus followed him.
"Is there… have we done anything wrong, Remus?"
"Oh, plenty!"
Patton's frown deepened before Remus continued his statement.
"We try to get Thomas be his true self as much as we can, and the others always seem to feel like they can speak for us. I think it's bullshit."
"Well, we have made a lot of them uncomfortable and I have made mistakes."
"They hold you and me to completely different standards. I have always been the worst of worst but you are now starting to seem bad and that's scary to them. I find it funny, honestly."
When the snacks were ready, Remus was already building a very complex Jenga tower.
"Wait, kiddo! It's going to fall!"
"No it won't!"
Remus had built an entire castle structure from just Jenga blocks, which fascinated Patton.
"This is nice, kiddo."
"Me and Roman used to play it like this all the time. Logan thought it was impractical."
Remus went over the rules for the bigger structure. You only get certain points off if you knock down a certain structure. However, if you know the whole thing down the first time, you lose. Or win. Playful destruction was something that would get you brownie points from the Duke.
"Ready to play?"
"You bet!"
---------------------
"How are you so good at beating these bosses, Pat?! I thought you weren't a gamer!"
"I don't really consider myself a gamer, since I only play causally."
Remus scoffed.
"If you play games, you're a gamer. Those stupid, fucking rules about who's a real gamer or not never fails to piss me off."
"I guess I mean… I'm not an experienced gamer."
"Experience just comes from the type of games you play. For me, I like fighting and platformer type of games. From the ones I've seen, you're better at puzzle games."
Remus laughed.
"My fuckass patience could never let me play those shits!"
Patton considered Remus' advice and yeah, he was better at other games than the ones he played. Yet, they began to feel easier the longer he played and when he found secrets that even Remus didn't discover on his first playthrough, he congratulated him in a way that the moral trait didn't expect.
---------------------
"I… De… clare… WAR!!"
"I… De… clare… WAR!!"
"How the fuck do we keep having the same cards?"
"I don't know! I shuffled them twice!"
"Let me see your decks!"
Remus started stacking and shuffling them in a way that Patton had never seen before.
"Faro shuffle."
"That's so cool! I've never seen anyone shuffle cards like that except for magic tricks."
Remus awkward smiled at the latter figment before he continued shuffling. This was different for him. This is the first time where he had spent so much time not doing overly random things or just talking out of his ass. Like, yes he planned on doing all of that but for right now, he wanted to just have fun without thinking.
---------------------
The two had gotten through most of the games before they started nodding off. Remus fell asleep on top of Patton. He had gone completely nose-blind the latter side's musk, so it barely phased him when Remus was near him. Patton adjusted his body before removing his glasses and placing them on the table near by.
"just a quick nap… okay…"
"eh… sure… night… putt…"
Patton placed a hand in Remus' hair as he relaxed his body.
"… night… remus…"

And while I haven't found the time to write anything new this week, I figured I might do something with my fic from last year!
This is mixed mediums used to depict Remus + Patton + nighttime + street light + sidewalk chalk.
Find the chapter it's based on here (it's short)
Find the rest of the fic here (it's short too)
@intrualityweek
Picture of my setup under the cut
This was basically my solution to the problem where I didn't want to figure out how to draw the sidewalk chalk in perspective or how to draw the lighting from the street light: just craft it instead!
Intruality Day 6: Bracelets (Picture Us Together Again)
@intrualityweek
They made friendship bracelets out of a locket and promised they'd never forget each other. Life has a funny way of checking in on those promises.
As the sun set, the two boys hid under a tree.
"Mama says I'm not supposed to see you anymore." Patton whispered, hugging his knees to his chest. "She says such mean things sometimes. I… I know shes saying them about you… but when she says them she doesn't know shes talking about me too. And… and I know shes not mean and evil on the inside… I just… I just wish she didn't say mean things to hurt people."
Remus wiped Patton's tears as he pulled the other boy close. "You keep saying that, but if she's mean to us then maybe she is just a mean lady."
"But you don't understand! If she's mean and… I'm not as nice to other people as her… I must be worse than mean, right?"
"That's not how that works I don't think. It seems like shes only nice when people can see, then mean in private. You're a little nice to everyone, which is much better." He rubs Patton's back. Patton sniffles and leans against him.
"I'm scared they're gonna send me away. They… they were looking at this camp. I… I'm scared." Patton grips onto Remus' shirt.
"What? Absolutely not! You haven't done anything wrong! They want to send you to some troubled teen camp?" Remus looks into his eyes. Patton nods, trying to wipe away his tears.
"They think I'm a bad kid. I think they might be figuring out I don't like girls and think I'm broken. I… I'm scared I'll leave, and you'll forget me."
"I'll never forget you."
"How can you promise something like that?
"Because I'll prove it to you!" Remus grabs out an antique locket and breaks it in half. Then he cuts a lock of his own hair and puts it in one side. Then he grabs out some fishing line and parachute cord. He attaches the pendant onto the cord, then ties it into a bracelet. "Here! You can say it's from a pet or something! Now you'll always have a piece of me!"
"That's so sweet, Mus. I'll hide this from them till I get out. I won't ever let them take you from me." Patton leans in to kiss his cheek, then lets Remus snip a piece of his hair to add to the other side.
"There! Now I'll never forget about you too! And look!" Remus moved their bracelets together, and the magnets snapped the locket back closed. "Now our hair can have some alone time! It's a proper friendship bracelet!"
"You're so amazing, Mus. Thank you." Patton hugs him tight. "I won't forget you. I promise."
"I promise too, babe. You won't lose me."
———————————-
It happened in the middle of the night; Remus woke to hear Patton's screams from next door. He jumped out of bed and saw Patton's parents lead two masked men out of their house, dragging Patton out with them.
Remus' stomach turned, unsure if he should call the cops. Patton's parents were right there! Why weren't they doing anything? Did those guys have a gun?
Remus watched as the two shoved Patton into the back of the car and locked the doors. Then he saw Patton's parents hand a large stack of money over to the men. This had to be a robbery, didn't it? There was no way they were paying someone to kidnap their son!
Remus' eyes locked with Patton's terrified ones from inside the car. Remus pressed against the window, trying to look for any way for him to escape. Maybe they could run away together? If only he'd thought of that sooner, he would've never let Patton go home this night.
But soon the car sped away, and that was the last time Remus saw Patton. He was gone through the summer and didn't return for school. Then the next summer their whole family moved away. Remus left a note under their tree about his new address with a few stamps, hoping Patton would return and let him know he was still alive. His hope began fading as he heard a fire had gone through their area and had burned most of the forest he and Patton used to play in.
In his teens, Remus began watching disturbing content, becoming aware of all the horrible things that could be done to a person. With every video he opened, he felt a sick sense of dread that he would see a familiar face. That he would know if his sweet Patton had been killed somewhere along the line. Then each time there was a little relief that he didn't know for sure that he was dead.
He became aware of what the camps Patton used to talk about actually were. He learned everything he could about the troubled teen and conversion therapy industries. He watched hours of documentary footage, always wondering if he would see his boy.
In his early twenties, he started advocating for the dismantling of the troubled teen industry. He started a band with members who had escaped their oppressive lives. He knew every bit he donated would keep kids like Patton safe.
Years later,
Remus walked down the street of the new big city. This was it. He had finally made it. A fresh start, no one who knew him here. This was a clean slate. Though with a clean slate came a sterile loneliness. No microscopic bit of connection was woven into anything.
He walked into one of the coffee shops, figuring if it was busy, it was probably good. He walked up to the counter and ordered a cold brew with whatever nut syrup they had. Turns out they had nut milk too. Remus just snickered to himself and paid, waiting at a table while his order was made.
"One double-nut cold brew for Remus!" The barista making the drinks called out. Remus didn't give it much thought as he walked over to get his drink. But as he grabbed the cup, he felt the slight pull and clink of the magnet on his wrist snapping against something.
"Oh, gosh! I'm so sorry!" The barista went to pull his hand away, only for Remus to grab his wrist with his other hand. He looked down as the two matching pendants reformed the antique locket.
"Patton?" He looked back up, suddenly recognizing the large nose and big eyes.
"Wait… Remus? My Mus?" Patton's heart beat quicker in recognition.
He quickly moved around the counter, wrists still connected. Then Remus lifted him into a large, swooping hug.
"I told you I'd never forget about you!"
"I never forgot about you either! When I came back you were gone and our tree had burned! I'm so sorry! I never got to say goodbye!" Patton gasped, trying to keep from crying while at work.
"Don't be sorry, hun. You'll never have to say goodbye to me again."
Day 6 of @intrualityweek !! going back to my day 4 explanation of their dynamic, I wanted to elaborate on it a bit more for this prompt.
In summary, Remus would be very resentful towards Patton in the beggining of his acceptance, thinking his efforts to earn his forgiveness as shallow. Still, Patton tries his best to include him and show that he's actually sorry. It will take quite a while until they manage to get to good terms.
When you love the bracelet your boyf made you but he loves his a little too much (Close up of both bracelets under the cut)
I do plan on making more Sides themed Kandi since I already have Ree Jan and Ro and I definitely wanna make more ship themed loom bracelets cause I have all their colors for it XD

Intruality Week Day 5: Comforting Lillypatton (Don't Believe What the Whispers Tell You, Part 2)
@intrualityweek
Patton finds comfort in an unexpected place.
Part 1 Here!
Much like the last chapter, this story is a little darker, so please stay safe!
--------------------------------------------
Patton woke up, knowing he'd cried himself to sleep the night before. He took a deep breath, already anticipating the dehydration migraine. If only crying actually made all those feelings go away instead of just letting out the pressure. Instead of being overwhelmed by all the negative thoughts, he now felt empty with a lingering sadness, as if stuck at the bottom.
He got up and picked out a punny t-shirt, then went to take a shower to try and wash some of the yucky feelings away. He pulled out his favorite body wash and turned on the tap, trying to ignore the whispers.
You can bleed out in a bathtub. It'll be much easier for the others to clean. Oooh, remember that documentary about how that guy did it by using hot and cold water to bleed out faster? Or what about that creepypasta about the girl who fell in the shower and cracked her skull and died? I bet the others would be happy if you just died. You might start decomposing before they noticed. I wonder how far along you'd be by the time they found you?
Patton braced himself and stepped under the stream, letting the warm water hit his tense muscles and joints. His body relaxed a bit under the flow, slowly washing away the old skin and grime and replacing it with his favorite scents. Then he stepped out and toweled off before getting dressed.
Then he paused, sitting down on his bed before facing the day. Part of him wanted to just crawl back under the covers and forgo the whole day. Would it really be so bad to not get up? Would anyone actually care? Maybe they would be happy he wasn't screwing everything up.
You could always take a whole bunch of Benadryl. That makes you pass out so hard you might actually not wake up. And it would only take 28 of your prescription Neoproxen to kill you, probably. Though that's assuming you don't die slowly over the course of a week from liver failure. Does liver failure hurt? It must. That would be really painful.
Patton sighed, rubbing his palms against his eyes behind his glasses. Just for one morning, it would be nice to be excited to greet the day. To have all the excitement of Anne from Green Gables, or to greet the world like at the beginning of Hairspray. Instead, he had to hype himself up just to do stupid, simple things like eat and be around the people he loves. He really is a failure of a person, isn't he?
He got up and slowly made his way downstairs, knowing he would feel worse if he didn't make it down before 10. He made his way over to their coffee machine and made a quick pot. Then he got out a pan to fry a couple of eggs. Making something always made him feel more productive. And being productive sometimes made the whispers not as intense. Sometimes.
As he was cooking, he heard another set of footsteps come down the stairs. Too heavy for Virgil, not steady like Logan, no humming, so no Roman… that left Janus and Remus. He was still learning what each of their steps sounded like, but given the loud thud as they skipped the last five steps with a huge jump, Patton narrowed it down.
"Morning, Remus! Do you want anything for breakfast? I made coffee?" He called as Remus crawled over the counter and into the kitchen.
"Depends on what you're making? Oatmeal with glass? Bugs in the cereal?" Remus hummed, trying to remain his chipper self. He had no idea how to bring up what he overheard last night.
"How about a fried egg in a toast circle? Some people call that a toad in a hole?" Patton suggests, getting out some bread.
"Ooh! Are they frog eggs? Green eggs and ham?"
"Uh,… I don't think so. I think it's just a name. But if you want, I can put some green food coloring in it? Or some spinach or broccoli? I think that would make it green and lumpy." Patton offers, cutting the holes in the bread and toasting up the centers.
"Both would be great! There were probably bugs crawling on both of those veggies. And did you know veggies are grown in poo? Isn't that great?" Remus snickered.
"That is interesting. I'm pretty sure I washed them off pretty well, but it is fun to think about where our food comes from." Patton nodded, getting out a knife to cut the veggies into more bite-sized pieces. Remus grimaced as he saw one of his shadows casually loop about Patton's arm to whisper to him.
One good slice and maybe you'd bleed out. Careful now, you wouldn't want to trip and stab Remus. What if you dropped the knife and it went through your foot? Or you cut your own Achilles heel. Can you really die from that? Would it hurt?
Patton shook his head, quietly arguing with it. "Logan would be mad if I died in the kitchen. It's a biohazard. And Virgil would have a hard time getting food if someone died here. I don't want to make him getting food any harder than it already is."
"Who are you talking to?" Remus ventured, unsure how else to confront this.
"Oh?" Patton's head snapped up to look at him. "Oh, it's nothing. Just thinking about what I have to do today. You know how I get. Just talking about nothing like an old person. Just ignore me."
Remus hopped off the counter and walked over to his side, helping him put down the knife. "I talk to myself too. Don't be ashamed, Patty. What were you saying?"
"I… it was nothing. I was just thinking about biohazards, you know? I bet you think about them all the time!" He shrugs away, cracking a few eggs and mixing them up.
"I definitely do! But I'll be honest, I didn't know your mind was so hazardous too!" Remus smiled, comforted by the thought of garbage. All the beautiful trash in the world. But then he remembered his mission and went back to watching Patton cook.
"Sometimes, I suppose. Mostly just thinking about how to avoid being a biohazard so Logan doesn't flip out. Hes real sensative about messes and stuff." Patton shrugs.
"I've noticed! He's all up in Thomas' business about that all the time! It must be exhausting." Remus hops up to sit on the counter again.
"It's just who he is. I wouldn't have him any other way." Patton smiles fondly, but then the smile fades a bit as he's sure Logan would rather have him a different way. Or maybe no him at all. Logan probably smiles more when he's not around. And that's good. It's good Logan has things that make him happy. That'll make everything easier when he's gone.
"Earth to Patton! I like my toast burnt, but if you don't, you might wanna flip that bad boy!" Remus called, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Oh! Gosh. Thanks, Remus! You're a lifesaver!" Patton flipped his toast, finishing up his own portion before starting on Remus'. "You said you liked burnt toast?"
"Cremated. I am a lifesaver, aren't I? I give Virgil stuff to look out for that he's never even thought of!" Remus chuckles to himself, wishing he knew what to say.
"You should try to be nicer to Virgil. He's… going through a rough time right now." Patton looks down at the pan. Remus watches as a shadow tightens around Patton's chest.
Permission. Virgil is mad at you. I bet he wishes you two never met. Did you see the glare he gave you when you were filming? I bet he wishes your lips were sewn shut like that guy from Hocus Pocus. I bet he wishes you were dead like Billy too. Then he wouldn't have your overbearing, manipulative, horrible self in his business ever again. He was so happy without you. Roman saw him with the purple eyeshadow first. He was actually happy when you weren't around. He'd be happier if you were never around again.
Patton grips the counter, rapidly blinking to keep the tears out of his eyes. Ok. That one hurt. Just hold on a little longer. Finish up breakfast, then you can cry later.
You're so pathetic crying over the truth. You don't deserve to feel sad when you're the one making everyone else's lives miserable.
Patton jumped as he felt Remus' arms around him, replacing the squeeze from the shadow with a tight hug.
"Hey kiddo… you ok?"
"I'm trying to boa constrict you." Remus shrugged, unsure how to explain that he just thought Patton needed a hug.
"Oh, ok. You're doing a real good job. Very tight. Janus will be so jealous!" Patton smiles over his shoulder, and Remus can't help but melt a little. His smile is so bright, and he's so so kind to everyone except himself. If only a lobotomy would fix him, Remus would do it in a heartbeat.
"I wanna keep you," Remus states as Patton pours the eggs and veggies into his toast hole.
"Oh?" Patton pauses, unsure what to do with that. "Like… taxodurmy?"
"If necessary, I suppose. But I was thinking more like… in my basement. I'd feed and water you and change your newspaper and everything." Remus chuckles, watching as Patton intentionally burns his toast.
Patton laughs at first, but then quietly considers what that would be like. "That might not be half bad. Would I have my own food to cook for us like this, or would I need to eat glass oatmeal?"
"Oh, you'd definitely have your own fridge and stuff. Your tummy is too cute to get cut up from the inside." Remus squeezes him a little tighter.
"Cute?" Patton repeats in surprise.
"Yeah! Everyone thinks you're cute!" Remus nods quickly, eager to latch onto something, only for Patton to laugh as if it were a joke.
"That's a good one! You're really branching out with your humor!"
Remus scrunches his nose, unsure how to proceed. Maybe he'll have to pull out the big guns! "Roman called you a cute puffball."
Remus wasn't prepared for Patton's flinch or the burst of shadows that began circling the room at the mention of Roman.
He'll never forgive you. He wishes you were dead. He wishes he never met you. He said he has problems with you. He hates you. He'd be happier if you had died. You should've died years ago. You ruined his dreams. You're the reason he's upset. You made him question his purpose. No one has ever screwed up as badly as you. I bet he wishes you were dead. Then he could go live his dream. He hates you. He has every reason to hate you. He'll never forgive you. He'd be happy if you died.
Patton gasped for breath, unable to stop this set of tears from falling. He backed up, trying to get out of Remus' hold. "Sorry. I'm sorry. Got pepper in my eye."
Remus only squeezed him tighter, using his tentacles to grab a tissue. "Here. Blow your boogies. I don't mind a little human salt in my breakfast. It's ok."
Patton's chest hitched at the comfort, feeling the deep stabbing ache of all the emotions. Maybe soon he'd have the courage to make them all happy. "It will be."
Remus held him, trying not to panic. How was he supposed to fix this? What could he say that Patton would actually believe?
"Hey Patty-Daddy?"
"Uhm… Maybe don't call me that. But what's up?" Patton blew his nose.
"Well… I'm in a bit of a pickle, and not the sweet mustard kind. Can you help me?" Remus asked gently, carrying Patton to the sink so he could wash his hands.
"I can certainly try! I'm not the best help, but we can start. Then Logan might be able to help? He's really good at solving problems."
Remus nods; maybe Logan would have some insight later. "So… uhm… say I did something a long time ago that I'm feeling kind of bad about now? Is it too late to try and make things right?"
"Oh, Remus! It's never too late! It might take some time to build that trust back up, but I'm sure if you're genuinely sorry, apologizing will help you be able to move on." Patton answered so quickly.
"And… what if they don't accept it? What then?" He carries Patton back to the stove so he can finish cooking.
"Well… then I suppose all you can do is give them space. Try to make better choices in the future." Patton sighs quietly, chest aching again.
"And what if I just… want to give up. Because it's too much and if I screw it up again someone will get hurt?" Remus squeezed tighter, matching the ache.
Patton was quiet for a beat as what he knew to be true and what he believed battled in his mind. "Then maybe at that point it's ok to ask for help. You're not alone, Mus. You have me, and Jan. And the Logan can help with any question you might ever have, and Roman is so creative, and Virgil helps ground you and stops your ideas from getting away with you. You're not alone, Remus. You're an important part of Thomas, and if you get overwhelmed, we're here to help."
"Have you ever gotten overwhelmed?" Remus wondered, unsure how else to continue the conversation.
Patton was quiet for a beat before nodding. "I should've asked for help then. I let it get the better of me and royally screwed up."
Remus held him, watching as he took the burnt green lumpy toad in a hole off the stove. Patton sniffed, squirming to get away again. "Here, you should eat before it gets cold."
"Not yet," Remus said a little more forcefully than he intended to. "Just… wait a minute. Was that the Lillypatton thing?"
Patton stilled in his arms before nodding.
"From what I heard, that was awesome looking. So jealous I wasn't there. Do you really have abs?" He feels over Patton's stomach, feeling a laugh bubble out of it.
"What? I… I don't remember. I think so? I'm glad you weren't there. I couldn't handle having you see me like that too."
"Like what?"
Patton takes a few breaths, realizing he said too much. "I… I dunno. Like a monster, I guess."
"And why is that so bad? I'm not opposed to banging Mothman if the opportunity arises!"
"Because I hurt people! I… I'm not like Mothman or Nessy or anything. I actually hurt people and…" Patton tries to catch his breath, feeling the panic rising inside him. He felt so warm and sticky, which only made the panic increase. Not again! Not again!
"And they still love you," Remus states calmly. "They hurt you too. I heard Janus smacked you around as frog-hulk. But you don't seem to be keeping any bruises or grudges."
"It's not the same. I hurt Thomas. Then I really, really hurt Ro. I wouldn't blame them if they never forgive me." Patton feels more tears blur his vision.
"Roman is petty, but he'll come around. He likes Virgil now." Remus rubbed his back.
"Virgil is so easy to love! He's smart and funny and helpful! Of course he loves Virgil! We all do!"
"And you're not easy to love? According to who?"
"Everyone! Just look around, mus! I'm too much for Logan, and too overbearing for Virgil, and too inconsistent for Roman. I… I don't blame them. I…" Patton chokes on another sob. "I wouldn't love me either."
Remus almost crushes him in a hug, holding him tight against his chest as he cries. "That can't be true… cause I love you."
"No, you don't… or you won't. I've screwed so much up it'll only be a matter of time before you see the real me and you're disappointed too."
"Don't tell me not to love the messed up, Patton. I love everything screwed up and disappointing and real. Doesn't that make you the perfect candidate for my love?"
Patton blinks, looking up at him in surprise. "How could you like this?"
"Easily." Remus kisses his forehead gently. "So, so easily. Can I tell you a secret?"
Remus waits for his nod before continuing. "Intrusive thoughts play on half-truths. They mix up facts and lies and anxieties and creativities. Sometimes it's hard to separate which part is which. But I promise you, I'll help you sort them out. If you'll let them, I think eventually the others will help you sort them out too. I love you too, Patton. You're worth sorting out these thoughts and knowing what is true."
"But what if I don't like what I find?" He whispers so so quietly.
"Then I'll be there for that too. It's never too late to change. To apologize. To grow. To ask for help. People want to help you. Will you let them?"
A quiet nod is all it takes for Remus to know it will be ok.
