 Chapter Seven
That Drink
The Waverider stopped, Rip throwing Vandal Savage to the ground and Ray had returned with the others. Sara and Leonard watched as they had recovered the mace and held it out before Savage to get him to stop.
“Where are we?” Rip asked, finally noticing that they had even moved.
“It’s only logical that there would be a place before time began,” Leonard said, Sara looking up at him.
“Why are we here?” Raymond asked, grabbing Savage and Carter stepped forward.
“You want to leave him here?”
“Seems only fair,” Leonard said, and Rip shook his head.
“This won’t help us. He’s immortal.”
“And we’ve got the mace. Kendra, kill this son of a bitch and we can leave.”
Leonard moved towards the doors, Raymond dragging Savage along, the others following. Leonard opened the door of the cargo hold, everyone taking a step back.
“Kill him, now, Kendra,” Leonard said, turning and looking at her.
“This won’t change anything,” Rip yelled, grabbing Leonard by the collar. “My family is still dead.”
“This is the only place we can go that the Time Masters won’t follow,” Leonard said, looking at Rip. “They can’t stop us here. We get rid of Savage now, we erase him from the rest of history and the timeline- then we go back to the beginning. We kill him in another time.”
“It won’t work, we’ve tried that before,” Kendra said, pacing back and forth.
“We can’t leave him here, the void will make him even more insane,” Stein said, looking between them.
“This is before the Big Bang. This is before life itself, he cannot witness it without losing his mind further.”
“That’s why we kill him, leave him here and then deal with the rest of the problem in the future. We have been trying to stop Savage but it’s not working. This way we can guarantee he won’t time travel or get saved by the Time Masters and stop us. If we destroy him here, we have a chance,” Leonard said, looking at Sara. She nodded, understanding.
“Snart’s right, if we eliminate him as a threat here, the Time Masters can’t bring him back. They’re not gods,” she said, looking between the others. “We have to end this.”
Savage laughed, blood forming from his mouth. “You people,” he laughed, spitting on the ground, “You cannot possibly think that this will work.”
Kendra moved, looking at Savage. “Rip, what do you say? This might not work,” she said. Rip was pacing back and forth, and finally he looked at Leonard.
“You’re right. The Time Masters have done everything they could to keep the timeline as it was. This will give them the disadvantage.”
“Let’s do what we need to,” Leonard said, looking at Kendra. “End it now, so we can fix everything else.”
It was the only plan they had. They needed to trust the plan. Raymond and Mick took a step back, Stein following them. They all moved away, leaving Carter and Kendra standing over Savage. He looked at them, as if knowing that they weren’t going to be stopped now. They had come too far, done too much.
“Do it, Kendra,” Sara said softly. The hawk looked at her mace and then at Carter. He reached out and grabbed her arm.
“I’m here.”
“You pigs!” Savage yelled, “You cannot destroy me! I am a Master of TIME!”
Kendra lifted up her mace, taking it in both hands and looked down at him.
“You’ve lived long enough.”
 ----
Leonard and the others stood outside of the Egyptian palace, ten minutes before Rip attempted to kill Savage to begin with. Rip looked at Leonard.
“You were right.”
“What was that?” he asked, and Rip sighed loudly.
“You were right. Killing Savage in the beginning was a good move. The Time Masters are unable to revive him now. And I can fix everything from here.”
“Just so I can make sure, I was right?”
“Leave him alone, Leonard,” Sara said, moving from the cargo hold of the ship and standing next to Leonard. “He’s got a world to right.”
“I shall try,” Rip said and moved towards the palace, pulling over his hood and Sara looked at Leonard.
“This really worked.”
“I figured it would.”
“You figured?” she asked, and he looked at her.
“You trusted me enough to try.”
She nodded, standing up a little on her toes and kissing him on the cheek.
“I really wanted that drink.”

Chapter Six
Time
The Vanishing Point is a prison. It’s meant to put time pirates and criminals from all time and space who have interrupted the Time Stream to bed, justice served. In this place there is no time, there is only eternity, an vast and endless waste of nothing. But technically, it was still in space. Because all things need to occupy space. So in space, space, so to speak, it’s probably not the greatest idea to have a large gaping hole in the side of a massive building full of people. These people tend to get sucked out into the void that surrounds the Vanishing Point.
Which was why Leonard picked that very lovely wall to explode.
Leonard and Sara grabbed a hold of the doorframe they were near, bracing themselves as the void started to suck everyone out. He had thought of it after the time Rip did it with those annoying time pirates. If it ain’t broke.
He just hoped that the others were okay. Gideon was technically flying so she could handle the crew. It was more Rip and co that he was slightly concerned. Okay, honestly, he was worried about Kendra. But she could fly. She’d be fine.
“Emergency Alert! Breach in the hull!” a generally neutral voice said over the noise. The Vanishing Point probably had a few breaches before so Leonard guessed they had about thirty more seconds before it was filled.
“Hold on for a little longer!” Sara said over the sound. He hadn’t realize he had stopped bracing and was more holding onto her, realizing she was pressed against him, pushing his back to the doorway. He would have thought this a lovely moment if they weren’t about to die. Why was it every time they got really close it was because they were in mortal peril?
“Hey Sara,” he said, and she looked up at him. “When this is over we need to get a drink.”
She didn’t know if she should laugh. She stared at him.
“A drink?” she asked.
“You and me. In 2016. I know a place.”
He had never said anything so hopeful before. They were going to make it back to 2016. And they were going to get a drink.
She wondered if this was because of what he’d said earlier. That she couldn’t keep thinking they were going to die here. She looked away from him. He waited a beat and the hull breach was fixed by the building, and they were released. The impact had sucked a few number of ships out and put out most of the fires. Sara stood up and looked down at Leonard. He waited.
“I drink whiskey,” she said, holding out a hand and he took it.
Rip and Kendra groaned as they stood up slowly.
“Mr. Snart failed to tell us about that last one,” Rip said, feeling in pain just about everywhere. Kendra looked around.
“Where’s Carter?” she asked, frantic. They had been thrown through another room when the breach hit, sending everyone flying, including Carter and Savage. There was no sign of him and Kendra started running, stopping in the doorway when she almost ran right into Sara.
“Sara!”
“Are you guys okay?” she asked, looking around. “Where’s Savage?”
“That’s the question,” Rip said, looking down the hall both directions.
“Probably should have warned ya,” Leonard said casually and Kendra glared at him.
“Carter is missing,” she said accusatory. He shrugged and looked down the hall.
“Only one place anyone can go now,” he said.
“The Waverider. That’s why you did all of this- to get everyone back to the ship?” Rip asked, glaring at Leonard.
“Better than any plan you’ve had to be honest, Captain.”
Rip ignored the emphasis on the word and they headed back for the hangar where Gideon was flying just above the ground to keep stable.
“Where is he?” Kendra demanded, and Leonard led the way.
“Trust me, he’s coming,” he said as they went onto the ship and found it too quiet.
“Or he’s already here,” Rip said as they reached the bridge.
“Alexa?” Sara asked, and Leonard nodded. He lifted his gun and held it forward as Vandal Savage stood there with Carter at knife point and the others unable to move in on him.
“Alexa,” he sighed.
There are two guarantees in this or any life. People are always going to fall into two categories: desperate and not. Desperate people are this way because they have no options. They have families, children, their lives, anything major at stake. These are the kinds of people that can be bargained with. They need something that you can provide them. Safety, food, shelter. Anything that can help them or their own survive another day. Then you’ve got the ones who don’t.
A man with no ties is free, but they can also choose to throw their lives away at will. These are the people that are more dangerous than the first. At least a desperate person can be bargained with. Someone who has nothing to lose? That’s just trouble.
Leonard and Sara stood side by side as people with something to lose. Vandal Savage did not.
He grinned as he held Carter down with the knife to his head, ready to kill him and take Kendra’s blow with glad tidings, happy to know that she would suffer another lifetime without him.
“Let him go,” Kendra said, Rip holding her back by the arm, looking at Savage.
“How interesting, that we find ourselves here once again,” he said, referring to the last time they met when he killed Carter.
Raymond looked at Mick, neither really having an advantage here.
“Don’t hurt him,” Rip said, stepping forward. “You want to fight with me. Let him go and you can kill me.”
The others backed away, watching Rip step forward again, showing that he was unarmed. Carter looked at Kendra and Savage threw him to the ground.
“Rip,” Leonard warned, knowing that a fight wasn’t going to help their current situation. They were still in Time Master territory. He looked at Sara. “Close the doors.”
She broke from his side and went to the chair, Savage throwing himself at Rip as the Waverider prepared to take off. Kendra and Carter scrambled away from the fight, going to find the mace and Sara got the Waverider in the air.
Rip and Savage attacked each other, knocking each other down and Leonard went to Mick.
“We have to end this, now.”
“I’ll get the birds,” he said, going to find the others and Raymond watched as Rip was thrown to the ground, Savage pulling his knife on him. He couldn’t help but tackle the man to the ground, stopping him.
“Sara! Get us out of here!”
She obliged just as the Time Masters and their men were trying to get to the ship, finally recovering from almost death several times over. Sara went for the entrance of the hangar, pushing through the barrier with ease and the Waverider was back into the River of Time.
“Where are we going?” Sara yelled, trying to navigate as best as she could, the ship still in pieces. Savage and Rip were still having their brawl and Leonard made his way over to her chair.
“We need to do something we haven’t tried.”
“What’s that?”
“Going the other way.”
“What? In time?”
“Back to before Time began,” he said, and she looked at him. “Do you trust me?”
She didn’t even say anything, she just pushed the throttle down.

 Chapter Five
Step Five
“Professor,” Sara said as they ran onto the bridge of the Waverider, her first task was to fix their escape point at the window. “Can you get this ship going?”
“I can try,” he said, hurrying to the core, and begging Gideon to attempt to explain to him what they were trying to do.
“Mick, help the professor with any heavy lifting,” she said, and he nodded, following after him without another word.
“What do you need me to do?” Raymond asked, clearly needing something. He was still sore about the whole Kendra thing, he needed to think about anything else.
“Weld this window shut, I will get the maps so we can navigate the hell out of here,” she said, switching places with him and wondering where Leonard was. She expected him to be back by now.
“Gideon,” she said, hurrying to the mess that had once belonged to Rip, “Can you tell what’s going on out there?”
“It would seem that the Time Masters are attempting to stop the ship from leaving,” she said and Sara sighed. She figured and so had Leonard. There were a few more explosions in the Vanishing Point’s future, and all they could do was wait for them. He had timed them himself, swearing to Sara that they would go off, with or without help and suddenly a loud explosion caught her attention. She hurried to the window, looking out.
“What was that?” Raymond asked, looking out of the window he was working on.
“Somewhere else,” she said, thinking about Leonard. She closed her eyes. Dammit. She turned and ran for the other end of the bridge.
“Sara! Where are you going?” Raymond yelled, and she threw a “Fix the window and get us ready to fly!” as she went.
She went down to the cargo hold, finding her weapons overturned in a crate, the soldiers unable to take them in their attempt to flee during the bombings. She grabbed her bo staff and put it together, running out of the door and into the hangar. A ship had managed to get in flight and she watched it go towards the entrance. She ducked back, hiding behind the Waverider as suddenly the entire hangar rocked again, more explosions elsewhere sending the Vanishing Point in more than a few directions. The timing was still going well, she saw, the bombs they’d spent almost two hours planting doing their jobs perfectly. She turned and headed down the hall she knew led to the closest computer.
The system was jerky and the screen cracked, but the computer was working. She typed into it, asking Gideon help for locating Leonard. He was supposed to be taking out any extra jump ships lying around in case Savage tried to steal one.
“Are there any jump ships anywhere other than the hangar?” she asked, typing into the flickering computer.
“Most of the emergency ships have been destroyed,” Gideon said and Sara shook her head. She thought about the direction she had sent Rip and the others. Kendra and Carter could sense Savage, they would know what direction to go. She followed the path that she had sent them on, hoping to run into them soon.
Rip and Kendra led Carter down another hall, Rip knowing the inner workings of the Vanishing Point well. This place had once been a second home to him. He didn’t even feel anything as he saw fire after fire and felt explosion after explosion destroy it. This place was a tomb to him now, a place of disgust and eternal darkness. The people he had held most dear and above all others was corrupted and tainted, working with a madman.
Kendra slowed down, ducking down and looking around a corner. Carter hunched down behind her looked over his shoulder at Rip.
“Why are we going to attack Savage without the mace that you said could kill him? It seems fruitless,” he said, still trying to remember Rip’s name. His memories were still clouded and he barely remembered him.
“No time, we have to stop him from disappearing back into the Timeline before we can catch up. If he disappears again we’re back to a literal square one,” Rip said, sighing a little and looking down the hall. “Kendra?”
“He’s close,” she said, nodding and they moved again.
The turn around the next corner produced Declan and his men, searching for Savage as well. He turned to see the three coming and a fight was now unavoidable.
Kendra struck first, throwing her mace at someone and Carter went behind her, his wings appearing as he beat down the guards. Declan stepped back, looking at Rip.
“You need to stop this madness,” he said, looking at the crumbling building.
“Sorry,” Rip said, shooting him in the shoulder and sending Declan to the floor. “I have come too far to stop now. Which is probably what you’ve been saying to yourself, working with a madman like Savage. How many people have you let die at his hand?” he asked, standing over the man he had once admired and pointing the gun down at him.
“You don’t understand, Rip,” Declan said, grimacing in pain as blood poured from his shoulder. “We need men like Savage to create the world we need.”
“Maybe the Time Masters need him, but the world doesn’t.”
He walked away, following Kendra and Carter down the hall, turning another corner and finding a smoking jump ship, fire everywhere.
“He’s through there,” Kendra said, pointing towards the hall off to the side, leading to one of the small council chambers where only the really big Time Masters were allowed to go. Rip nodded, ushering them inside and they stopped to find Leonard on his knees, gun discarded to the side and Savage standing over him. Leonard was pretty beat up, clearly taking a lot of hits as Savage played with him a little.
“Ah, my love,” Savage said, looking up to see Kendra. She looked at Carter and Rip, and back at Savage.
“Mr. Snart,” Rip said, looking at Leonard, looking slightly annoyed.
“Glad to see you too,” he spat, looking between the three of them and wondering when they were going to get moving. “You can attack anytime, I am in no hurry.”
Kendra took the hint and went first. She threw herself at Savage, Leonard ducking out of the way and going for his gun, but found it useless. Savage had managed to shoot it out of his hand, Leonard narrowly losing his hand again. He looked at the fight going on, and stood up.
“Yeah, not going to get involved in that,” he said, turning and heading out the other end. He still had a plan to finish. He turned a corner and saw a guard attacking Sara and he stopped.
“Sara!” he called, watching her knock the man down and look over at him.
“Leonard!” she said, kicking the guard before running over to him.
“Are you okay?” they asked at the same time and she touched his face, seeing the blood and bruises soon to come.
“I’m okay,” she said, looking at the trail of guards she had left behind. “Raymond and the others are on the ship, we need to get going.”
“Rip, Kendra and Carter are in there with Savage,” he said, motioning with his head and she looked around him at the door.
“What about that last bomb?” she asked.
“Didn’t come up,” he said, shrugging and he grabbed her shoulders, pushing her down with him as the last bomb went off and destroyed the most vital part of the Vanishing Point. The front wall.
A/N: Reunited and feels so goooddd...
Wait, is that true? The part of the unemployment rate?
I may be wrong about this, but I think the official unemployment rate is based off of how many people are on unemployment benefits (and if benefits is the wrong word I apologize).  So someone who’s over 18, not working, and not collecting unemployment benefits for whatever reason wouldn’t be counted in the unemployment rate that the government reports.  So that would affect the actual number of unemployed adults. Â
The economical definition of unemployment is: You are of working age and seeking work, as in you are pursuing work but not finding a job- and a healthy and good economy in a stable country is anywhere between 5-7% unemployment, never exceeding more than 9% because that is considered a dangerous level of unemployment- in a country of over 318 million people, 15.945 million people out of work is in fact a generally good number.

 Chapter Four
Flee
Sara didn’t like this plan. In fact  she very much hated this plan. She trusted Leonard, and knew that he had a good plan- it would most likely kind of work. Hopefully. But it didn’t mean she didn’t like it. She had been worried that any moment they would come around the wrong corner and run into Savage and things would go south quickly. But Leonard assured her that all was going according to some kind of a plan.
She sure hoped that was the case because right now the entire Vanishing Point was tilted. Literally. She slid on the floor a little to try and get her footing. Who knew that a giant space station in space had the ability to tilt?
She turned around and looked for Leonard. They had both dropped to the floor, but when the station moved, she’d slid down the hall like a little kid on a slide, going through the chamber and into the next room, finding herself alone again.
“Leonard!” she called, hurrying and then the entire station started to move again, trying to right itself probably. She waited a moment as the station was back upright and hurried into the chamber, finding downed soldiers and Leonard nowhere in sight. The men started to attack her now, Savage missing and she thought about the plan.
Should they get separated for any reason, she was supposed to keep going and bust everyone out of their cells. Leonard had given her the bag of weapons just in case. He would meet up with everyone back on the ship. She fought off her attackers, unable to see Leonard and started running the other way. Stick with the plan, she told herself. Leonard is a survivor, he’ll be okay.
She was more worried about herself. Leonard had been right, she was going into this fight thinking they were going to die. She had been thinking that way ever since Carter had died. He had the luxury of being reincarnated, but she had been through that hell and didn’t intend to go back. She would rather face the Time Council and their wrath than endure another lifetime as a monster.
She made a hole for herself and ran through the hall, trying to remember where the cells were. Leonard had said two rights, right? She thought about it and nodded, the alarms started going off now, the delay between the bomb blast and the system righting itself leaving it time to freak out.
Sara made two rights and found the cell block, but the blast had caused some damage. A large beam was blocking the door.
“Dammit,” she whispered and set down the bag, trying to find a way around it. There didn’t seem to be one but she moved over the pillar, climbing up and glad that Leonard wasn’t watching her attempting to climb because she was so short, it was not working well. Finally she managed to pulled herself up and looked at the door. It was hanging open, rocks keeping it that way and she was able to squeeze through, dropping down into the cell block and looking around. Everyone was sitting in their cells, rocks knocking out Ray’s and Rip was trying to throw himself at his own to escape. Declan and his guards were lying on the ground, thrown when the Vanishing Point toppled. They were against a wall and Kendra looked up from Carter, touching his head.
“Sara!”
“Miss Lance,” Rip said, and Sara went to the wall, pulling out the computer’s wires and their cells shot down, freeing them.
“Glad to see you got the message,” Sara said to Mick, smiling and he nodded.
“Step one completed, what’s step two?” he asked, and she looked at the door.
“Leonard is working on it as we speak. But we need to get back to the Waverider, we don’t have time,” she said, and Mick followed her to the door. Together they shoved the pillar against the floor and they all managed to climb out. She passed out the weapons, looking at Rip.
“We need to find Savage,” Rip said, looking at Kendra and Carter. Sara nodded.
“Yeah, Leonard said you’d say that. You need to take them and find Savage, he disappeared from the Council Chamber a few minutes ago. With the hangar out of commission he would need to find another means of escape. We’ll go to the Waverider and wait for you,” she said, and they nodded.
“What’s the rest of the plan?” Kendra asked, and just as she did another explosion rocked the entire facility, sending it now tilting in the other direction, sending everyone sliding on the floor.
“Step two?” Mick yelled, looking at Sara as they reached the end of the hall.
“What kind of a plan is this?” Raymond asked, looking around startled. Stein looked at Sara.
“Is he trying to kill us all?”
“We’ll be okay,” she said, not exactly sounding sure. Rip stood up on his knees, looking to the side.
“Kendra, you, Carter and I will go after Savage, if he is trying to escape we can get into the computers through that door,” he said, not waiting around for another explosion to interrupt them. Sara looked at the others.
“Lead the way,” Mick said, raising his gun and they were able to stand upright again after another shift in the facility.
“We need to go this way,” she said, having to take another route back to the hangar. Leonard had said that he was certain that the shift in the Vanishing Point would lock down the facility and the only way out was going to have to be up. They were going to have to crawl back through the vents. She didn’t like the sentiment, but it was the only way.
They went through another hall and found a dead end with a few piled up cases, contents lying all over the floor. Apparently someone had been transporting more weapons as the guns laid out nicely. Ray quickly built a tower to stand on and they went one by one through the shaft Sara created a hole through, finding the ducts even more unpleasant than originally certain.
“So, can Gideon fly or is the Waverider still out of commission?” Ray asked, following behind Sara and trying to keep himself from hitting his head every ten feet.
“No, the ship is out right now, but Gideon is working on it. We’re going to need you to do your thing, Professor,” Sara said, no one talking about the fact that none of them were going to be able to really do the proper repairs except for Rip since Jax wasn’t there. But opinions were kept to themselves and things started moving as they reached the hangar, Sara looking out of the grate and down into the cargo hold. Dozens of ships were still on fire and soldiers were running everywhere, trying to figure out what had happened. The Waverider was sitting pretty away from the others, undamaged by Snart and she nodded her head.
“Let’s go.”
 Step One:
Force your enemy to attack you.
Step Two:
Reveal their weakness by attacking back in a way they aren’t expecting.
Step Three:
Force their hand. This will make them make a mistake.
Step Four:
Exploit the mistake, take complete advantage of it.
Step Five:
Reveal that it was the plan all along.
He had done something similar to Barry Allen back in Central City. Barry had been so caught up in the idea that Leonard was going to rob the mob family he had provoked, Barry just couldn’t see the bigger picture. That was one of the problems Leonard tended to have with people. They never saw the big picture.
He looked at the ceiling, thinking about his next move. He didn’t have to worry about Sara, he knew that she had gotten to the cells already, she wouldn’t let him down. He just needed to continue to work.
“Step three,” he muttered to himself as he waited for Rip and Kendra and Carter to come, standing outside of a hall, Vandal Savage moving towards a jump shit that had been hidden in a hangar off to the side. Leonard was certain that a blood thirsty madman had an escape plan, especially now that Carter had his memories back. Kendra and Carter posed a serious threat, even if they didn’t have the mace they needed.
He looked at his useless watch out of habit and counted down the seconds as the second bomb went off. He braced himself in the doorway of the hall, the bomb sending Savage and the men flying against the wall, knocking several of them out and Savage to look over his shoulder.
“Do it,” Leonard whispered to himself, willing Savage to put himself in a corner. He heard the loud shout of annoyance from the immortal and smirked. “Good boy.”
Savage waited the moment before the Vanishing Point righted itself and then he moved, barreling down the hallway, deciding to seek out the Legends instead of going for the ship. He knew that they were the ones doing all of this. He just couldn’t let Rip go.
Leonard waited a long beat before pulling the pin on a grenade he had obtained from the weapons storage and sent it flying towards the jump ship, the door opening as the soliders attempted to board and he went running the other way as the ship exploded behind him.
He stopped, and turned his head a little, getting that feeling again.
Steps 1 through 4 had worked.
But he was getting that feeling again. He slowly turned his head and looked behind him. Standing there in a mad rage was Vandal Savage. He gripped his gun and turned around.
“Alexa…”
A/N: If anyone didn’t know, in the episode referred to is in the show The Flash 1x16 “Rogue Time” and during the episode, Leonard kidnaps Cisco to build him a new cold gun and forces him to reveal the Flash’s identity.  Chapter Three
Fight
“Clear,” Sara said, the door opening as they approached and they went inside. The stash of weapons was just as mind blowing as the rest of the oversized chicken coop. The Time Masters didn’t do anything small and the weapons they had to choose from were numerous. The weapons from the Waverider hadn’t been recovered yet, so they were going to have to make due with what they could find. It wasn’t hard for Sara to find two pieces of metal to beat people with, but Leonard was a little more choosey. He even wondered for a moment if his old Cold Gun might be in this treasure trove, considering he saw a lot of weapons he thought he’d never see again.
“A trident? Who even uses a trident?” he asked himself as he reached for a very simple gun that according to the information next to it, shot lasers and that was about as good as he was going to get.
“We need to get weapons for the others,” Sara said, looking through the racks and racks, finding a mace for Carter and Kendra, though they were more high tech and looked like they did more than just bludgeon. Leonard searched and found a kerosene type weapon for Mick and a pistol for Rip. The only problem was that Stein was useless by himself and Raymond couldn’t hold his own without his suit. They were going to have to settle for just regular firearms. Sara found a bag and threw everything inside, leading the way out of the door before they were spotted.
They moved down the hall and Leonard whispered to make a right ahead, remembering the route that Gideon had provided for them earlier. They ducked under a staircase and into a small room off to the side, finding a very small and fun filled broom closet.
Apparently Time Councils need janitors too.
“Great, now what?” Sara asked, looking at the room.
“Get in,” he said, motioning his head. She sighed and went inside, the two crammed in as best as they could and closed the door behind them, feeling a lot like when they were trapped during the haul breach. Sara put the weapons bag on the floor and a small light from the gun Leonard was carrying was all that kept them from total darkness.
“Well, what now?”
“We wait.”
“The plan going to work?” she asked, and he looked at his watch, knowing that it was useless in a place with no time, but it was a habit.
“Gideon should have delivered the message by now. We need to make sure that they have enough time to figure it out before we go charging in.”
Silence fell between them for a moment and Sara closed her eyes, thinking about her sister and her home. Savage being in league with the Time Council was bigger than they could have ever expected. They had been here to stop a madman, stop him from destroying the world in the future. With him able to time travel meant that he could ruin any timeline. He could go to her past and kill her family over and over again.
“Don’t think like that,” Leonard said and she opened her eyes, looking at him. “It’ll only drive you insane.”
She thought of his sister.
“Lisa is safe, right? She is somewhere she can’t be found?”
“I told her to stay off the grid until I came back.”
She nodded, thinking about when they had left their family behind because of the Pilgrim.
“We are going to be facing an army out there,” Leonard said, looking at the gun in his lap, “We have to be ready for that.”
“I’m ready to die,” she said, confused. He looked at her, shaking his head.
“You can’t go out there thinking that. You used to be ready to die. You have to start thinking that you’re going to live, Sara.”
She looked confused. “I am a weapon. I am going to be used and thrown away, that’s fine.”
“For you, fine, but I am not going to let you think that way. Rip might think that way, but not me. We’re pawns, sure, but that doesn’t mean that we have to listen to the King.”
“You want me to promise you I won’t die?” she asked, scoffing.
“No, I am asking you to stop thinking that you’re going to die. A dead soldier is a useless solider. A living soldier is a better weapon.”
He had to think on her level. This was what Sara understood. She was a soldier. Sure, they were not having the greatest hero time fighting through time and space, but they could still think strategically. They could survive to fight another day. He couldn’t have her thinking that self sacrifice was an option.
“Fine, I am going to fight to live,” she said, though he knew she was only saying it because he was going to keep staring at her if she didn’t. They were too deep in this thing now. This was the moment they were going to decide to become heroes for real. He didn’t like the option but it was either that or try to escape and he knew that Sara would never come with him.
He looked back at his gun and the light emitting from it. They were going to need to fight their way to the others and then fight their way out. He was grateful for one thing- the future was always in flux, even here in the Vanishing Point. There’s no way he could think of that the Time Masters would be ready for them.
“Leonard,” Sara said, looking at him and he looked back at her.
“Yeah?”
“You made me promise to be safe.”
“I promise you, I am going to live to see another day,” he said and she shook her head.
“I need you to promise me that you’ll get everyone home.”
He stared at her for a long moment. If they died here, everything that had happened would be undone. Their past selves, their families, 2016, none of it was going to matter. None of any of the suffering and time spent on this mission was going to be worth it. Getting home needed to be the goal.
“Fine,” he said, nodding a little and she nodded in return. “Everyone, and I mean, everyone, gets home safe.”
They waited another pause before he looked at his useless watch again and then moved towards the door.
“Time to go.”
Rip and the others were relived that only a few shouts and pounding on the cells woke Mick with a start, and the message was easily solved. He motioned with his hands, getting the gist that this was all on the DL, they needed to be careful.
Just as they were preparing for the eventual plan to be set in motion, the doors of the cell block opened and Rip’s old mentor was standing there.
“Time Master Declan,” Rip said, spewing out each name as if it were acid on his tongue. He had once admired this man as a hero and now he was a piece of trash like the rest of the Council. The Time Masters were a joke. A waste of human life and they were in charge of the future? He could understand their need to keep him and the Legends in check, but the fact that they were letting Vandal Savage time travel at will was outrageous.
“Captain Hunter,” he said, looking at each other them in their cells. They were all standing, watching him in angry silence. They had expected another visit before the plan was set in motion. They were disappointed to not see Savage.
“What do you want?” Rip asked, glaring at the man.
“I wanted to see if you or your little crew here have decided that it’s time to-”
Before he could speak again, a sudden explosion set the entire facility rocking and everyone braced themselves in their cells, looking around. Loud sirens and the sounds of several voices and intercoms began shouting.
Time Master Declan looked up, seeing a rather impressed Rip standing there.
“Alright, let’s see what else you have in store for us, Mr. Snart.”
“That was a loud bang,” Sara said, leading the way down the hall, hitting anyone who got in their way. Leonard fired behind them, hitting computers and door panels, watching them explode as they went.
“Up to the right!” he called, Sara stopping to take out two guards that had just unfortunately turned the corner. He counted seconds in his head and another explosion rocked the entire facility. That was bomb number two, set in place and on a timer he’d had to makeshift. The entire plan was riding on the last one, which had another one hundred and ten seconds to go. He counted them off in his head as Sara finished off her guys and they were on the move again.
She reached the next turn and stopped, looking around. They had reached the massive meeting area for the Time Council, several members running out of the room as they fled for shelter from the crumbling building. The bombs had been placed one in the hangar away from the Waverider, but crippling several ships around it, and the other had taken out the weapons storage, so they were going to be without back-ups.
“Leonard!” Sara yelled and went through the doors, hitting several members of the Council as she passed. He delayed following her, counting off the seconds and then shooting down the hallway at guards coming. They were probably going to start surrounding the area, knowing right where they were headed.  The cell blocks were on the other side of the Council Chamber.
Sara and Leonard were in the middle of a massive room, bright lights shining down overhead.
“Cozy,” he said, and she rolled her eyes, looking for enemies.
“Here they come.”
“Eighty four seconds.”
“Vanishing Point Seconds?” she asked, and he laughed, despite himself.
“Trust me.”
“I do,” she said, looking at him, and he didn’t want to think about what might happen if it didn’t work.
“My friends!” a shout came and they turned, seeing Vandal Savage standing at the other end of the room, guards all around him. They were coming through the doors now and Sara moved closer to Leonard so they had their backs to each other.
“Sixty seconds,” he muttered and she nodded.
“Why are you creating such a fuss? Honestly you could have escaped and no one would have noticed. I was certain that you were still hiding on the ship!” Savage said and moved in closer to them, laughing at them. Taunting was his specialty and Leonard sighed.
“Not really the hiding type, I’m afraid.”
“Oh, you will be afraid, I assure you,” Savage said and then the guards started to attack. Sara broke from his back, throwing one of her batons at a guard and then smashing another her open fist. Leonard let out a hail of lasers and forced Savage and the guards to scatter for cover, Savage backing up and watching the fight from a distance.
Leonard finished counting.
“Sara, get down!”
In the cells, Mick did the same.
“Time’s up, get down!”
Gideon’s timer went off and suddenly the entire ship lifted into the air as the last explosion sent the entire Vanishing Point sideways.
“Oh dear,” Gideon said, “That might have been a bit of a bigger blast than my calculations had predicted.”

Sara and Leonard pressed against the wall, hearing the footsteps of the soldiers. They must have completed the headcount and came up short. Then a familiar voice followed with the soldiers.
“It’s Stein,” Sara whispered, recognizing his voice easily. They looked around the corner and saw him in handcuffs, being led by two guards.
“I am telling you, gentlemen, I won’t have anything to do with this!” he said, trying to get away. Sara pulled back, looking at Leonard. He shook his head. They couldn’t make a move. They had the element of surprise right now. If they attacked, it would alert everyone to their position. Sara looked back around the corner and saw them turning down another hall, Stein protesting the entire way.
“We have to get a message to the others that we’re free,” she whispered, and Leonard nodded in agreement. She was right, the others might do something stupid- okay, someone mainly being Raymond, and that would be bad. They all needed to be in on the plan. He looked at the ceiling of the ship.
“Gideon,” he whispered and looked to the control panel. They would have taken everyone’s weapons, so the only way to communicate would be through Gideon.
“The Time Masters had to have thought of that,” Sara said, keeping watch.
“Our communications might be down, but Gideon is still a computer.”
“What does that mean?” she asked, and he typed into the pad.
“Computers talk to each other,” he said, “And they follow orders.”
“Understood, Mr. Snart,” Gideon said, and he turned to face Sara again.
“We need to move,” he said, and she nodded, leading the way towards the hangar to get their weapons..
They moved silent and quick, finding the stairs leading down to the hatch, stopping to see if there were anymore guards. Then they heard voices again and they split off, each to the side and waited.
“The jump ship was launched a good fifteen minutes before the arrival of the Wave Rider, the computer system says it was a one-way trip to 2016 Star City,” a solider said.
“That would be Mr. Jefferson, no doubt,” a voice said and Leonard and Sara looked at each other, going completely still. Savage entered the ship, looking around and triumphant. He was back on the enemy ship on his own terms. “Professor Stein was very pushy about saving the boy, he is no threat to us right now. What about the other two missing guests?”
“Still unknown, they weren’t on the ship when we boarded,” the solider replied and Savage shook his head.
“They’re here, Mr. Snart is just very good at keeping out of sight. Search the ship again, I need to visit an old friend.”
More soldiers came through the doors and were now searching the cargo bay, Sara looking at Leonard. She motioned with her hand that they needed to move, and he nodded, the pair hugging the walls as they went back inside of the ship, trying to find another escape route. There were soldiers everywhere and they couldn’t travel too far back, Stein and his guards were still inside. He thought of something and motioned for Sara to stop at the first turn.
“The Bridge,” he whispered and she nodded, following him down the hall, preparing for a fight if need be. They heard more voices and ducked into a hallway, finding Stein still being led around and protesting that he would not help them in locating Sara or Leonard.
“Mr. Snart is a criminal, I don’t care what happens to him and Miss Lance is perfectly capable of taking care of herself, let alone be taken in by your actions of parading me around as bait!” he declared, the soldiers ignoring him and continuing down a hallway.
Sara and Leonard waited a long beat before resuming their run down the hall and entered the bridge and finding it was more ransacked and destroyed than when they had last seen it. Rip’s quarters were in shambles, his maps and papers strewn everywhere and the lights flickered all around them.
“The window,” Leonard said, pointing to one of his favorite spots to sit. It was his window when he needed to look outside and observe, and it was just off the side of the front of the ship. They moved towards it and climbed into the sill, looking out. The Vanishing Point’s hangar was far more massive than originally thought. They looked in almost awe at the sheer size of it.
“Someone like Star Wars when they were kids,” Sara said, looking around as soldiers ran back and forth, the pair spotting Stein being led away. He looked around him and then up, and for a split second, he saw them, but didn’t make it noticeable. He knew they were safe. He sighed a little in relief.
“We need to get the window open,” Leonard said and she turned and looked at the mess. She grabbed one of the irons for welding and stared at the corner, Leonard helping her push the window out carefully. They were luckily hidden pretty well up high, no one seemed to notice down below. They got the window opened enough for them to crawl out and they moved to the climb down the side. Sara went first and Leonard followed.
“We need weapons,” Sara said, looking towards the ship and seeing that they were pulling out everything from the cargo bay, including their usual weapons. Leonard nodded, following her along the wall, ducking into a hallway.
The Time Masters were really over the top. The facility was intense and Leonard wished for a split second that Mick was here, he had lived here for a long time, he would know the layout much better.
“Computer,” Sara said, indicating to a small port in the wall. They walked over to it and Sara kept lookout as Leonard accessed it. He was not surprised to find that he couldn’t read anything and had to take a moment to just let just let Gideon do her work.
“Gideon?”
“Yes Mr. Snart,” she said in his ear.
“We need to find the weapons stash in this place,” he said, typing into the computer and pulling out a small silver stick.
“What is that?” Sara asked, looking at it.
“Something that Rip will miss, I’m sure,” he said, sticking the drive into the computer and Gideon uploaded her separate personality into the computer. “Will you be able to stay in the system undetected, Gideon?”
“Not for long, they will find that I am searching for something soon.”
“Look for the weapons and then for the cells, let them know that you’re attempting a prison break,” he said, smirking at Sara who rolled her eyes.
“When were you going to tell me the plan, by the way?” she asked, looking out and seeing soldiers marching by.
“When I was about 90% sure it was going to work,” he said, seeing the maps of the facility begin to appear. “When we were in the Waverider I was more of a 20% kind of plan success vibe.”
She shook her head, sighing like she was going to probably kill him later.
“Well, when you get vibes, please tell me so I can get ready to punch something.”
He smirked again and pulled the silver stick from the computer, breaking it in half and throwing it down a hall, grabbing her by the shoulder and pushing her along.
“This way,” he said, and pointed down the hall.
Rip Hunter sat in his cell, looking at the clear walls. When had his life gone to such hell? Oh right, the day he had decided to perform this undertaking. How had he been so blinded by the Time Council? They were working with Savage and they were plotting to kill him and everyone around him just to keep that secret. It was the only reasoning he could think of as to why they were going to such lengths to stop him and the other Legends. They had posed some kind of threat to the plans that Savage and the Council had.
And now he was trapped in here, wishing he was dead already, knowing that was a luxury that Savage would not afford him anytime soon. The Vanishing Point was the perfect prison of torture. Lifetimes of rotting away without dying in a cell was the perfect form of revenge for his interference in Savage’s plans.
He pressed his forehead against the glass and then a computer against the wall beeped. He looked up, waiting to see the doors open and Savage return to taunt him. The other cells were occupied as well, Raymond, Kendra, Carter, all sitting or standing around, awaiting their fate. They knew that things were only going to get worse, it was just a matter of… god, time…
The door did open and Stein stood there, handcuffed, but he didn’t resist when they shoved him in a nearby cell and left them all to stand around.
“Where are Mr. Snart and Miss Lance?” Rip asked, now realizing that they hadn’t been brought in yet. He had a feeling when they had taken Stein after a few hours, it was to try and get information out of him.
“On the Waverider,” Stein said in a low voice, the others now perking up, Kendra sitting upright.
“What?” “They escaped capture,” Stein said, looking up and knowing that there were cameras clearly pointed at them. They could be listening too for all he knew.
Ray looked at Rip.
“They have to be coming to rescue us,” he said, looking hopeful. He had apologized time and again in these past few hours for his transgression of letting his emotions get the better of him and put them all in this situation. Not that it mattered; they would have been captured and imprisoned even if he hadn’t accidentally let Savage out. It had just delayed the inevitable, according to Kendra.
“Unclear,” Rip said, mostly referring to Snart. “Miss Lance will try her best, but if Mr. Snart doesn’t want to participate,” he said, looking over at Mick’s cell, the very buzzed prisoner sleeping off his whiskey and hadn’t even bothered to talk to them when he was brought in earlier. This had been a really hard day for the guy, it was explainable.
“Sara and Leonard,” Carter said, standing up from his position on the floor of his cell, “They were a part of the team, yes? Then surely they will come and help us.”
“If Leonard is calling the shots, then he has to have a plan,” Kendra said, knowing that Sara wasn’t the greatest at making plans, she was more of an execution kind of girl.
“Right you are,” a voice sounded and they jumped, surprised to hear Gideon.
“Gideon?” Rip asked, looking up.
“Yes, Captain. I am very briefly giving a delayed message by Mr. Snart now, but I can only speak in code in case they are listening. You must be very aware of the Rogue Gallery. End Transmission.”
“What does that mean?” Kendra asked, confused and she looked at Rip. “What kind of a code is that?”
“Someone please wake up Mr. Rory, I think we have our escape plan,” Rip said, looking very serious.

 Chapter One
Hide
There was a reason Leonard had spent many a day in his spare time looking over every single bolt of the Waverider. He was a man who always had an exit. He knew where any means of escape at any time would be. He always had an out.
So of course when choosing rooms to dwell in, he chose a room with a rather loose metal grate that with a little time and a screwdriver, was an easy exit to the small duct underneath. It was probably meant for maintenance, a lot of wiring and only enough room to crawl on your stomach, but enough to be useful when your Spidey Senses are tingling like a crazy ass bitch.
His eyes instantly went to his floor of his room as Sara sat lazily looking at her cards, another one of their many games already in motion. She had come to see him while they waited for Rip and news about the Time Council. Despite their protests over being unable to go to 2016, Leonard and Mick had understood why Dr. Stein had to put Jax first and had clearly not put the rest of the crew at all in his thoughts. They had easily forgiven him, despite their wish to leave the ship and Rip’s insane mission.
One long fight later, they were waiting around for news that this was all over. Sara had decided to stay with Snart and give a very detailed account of her captaining abilities and he was more than happy to oblige her as a listener.
But that feeling crept up again. That deep rooted sense of Fight or Flight. That feeling he got when things were going sideways. This instinct had always saved his life before. He had developed it watching his father. He could sense before he even came in through the front door if a beating was in his future. He had really learned to make Lisa go to a friend’s house for the night when he could predict this outcome ahead. It was something that had never left him.
So when Alexa went screaming through his head, he didn’t wait for Sara to ask him what that meant, he turned, grabbed her by the shirt and pulled her forward. She was about to attack him in self-defense but he put a finger to his lips, warning her to listen. Then they heard the footsteps. He motioned to the floor and she moved to the edge of the bed, ready to fight as Leonard ducked down and started to open the hole in the floor. She looked at the door as they were coming down the hall now, gathering everyone. Leonard pulled open the grate and ushered to her.
“Sara, come on,” he whispered and she shook her head.
“The others!” she protested.
“It’s got to be the Time Masters, they’re coming,” he said, standing up and reaching out for her. They heard voices outside of the door. He grabbed her arm and pulled her towards the grate. “Clearly we’re surrounded,” he said, his lips almost touching her ear for how close they were. “Live to fight another day.”
She nodded, turning and getting into the duct now without another word on the subject. If they were coming, it meant that Rip was captured and they had to be able to think about the big picture. Everyone had to have been taken since there weren’t any shots fired, meaning no resistance. Everyone was alive for the most part.
She moved into the duct, sliding on her stomach and army crawling her way down the shaft, looking over her shoulder to see Leonard following. He grabbed the grate and pulled it overhead, locking it in place and the doors of his room suddenly burst open.
“Clear!” one of the soldiers said, looking around as another entered behind them, the small room ransacked in an instant. They saw the pile of cards.
“There was someone here,” one of the soldiers said, “They couldn’t have gone far.”
Leonard was grateful they assumed that they went out the front door and not down, which was a typical logic for someone who wasn’t trying to escape. He turned and looked at Sara, nodding for her to keep going.
She crawled and they heard more noise as they moved, trying to be as quiet as possible. They finally reached the end of the long crawlspace and stopped, Leonard moving in close, listening. The ship was cleared. They must have gotten everyone off. And he knew that once everyone was together, they would do a head count and realize they were two cards shy of a full deck.
They had to hurry.
He moved close to Sara, his body now having to be practically on hers as he leaned in, talking quietly in her ear.
“Okay, this leads to the medical bay, we just need to get through that grate there, and see if Gideon knows if there are any more of those guys on the ship.”
She nodded, not caring that he was pressed against her, this was survival right now.
“We need to make sure that the ship can fly too, if the Waverider isn’t going anywhere, none of us are,” she said, and they started to work on the screws keeping the grate in front of them closed.
After a good few minutes, they were through the grate and into the med bay, taking care to be silent and Sara got out first, checking the hall. She nodded as Leonard crawled out and got to his feet.
“Gideon,” he asked in a quiet voice, the computer not registering it.
“Mr. Snart!” she said pleasantly, apparently surprised to hear he was not captured. “You and Miss Lance have evaded the Time Police!”
“Yeah, and we don’t want them finding us,” he said harshly, the computer lowering her voice.
“Oh, sorry, of course.”
“Gideon, are they still on the ship?” he asked and after a brief pause she replied.
“My scanners do not detect any other life forms except for yourself and Miss Lance.” “Good,” Leonard said, standing up and nodding to Sara, who lowered her guard and walked over.
“Well this all just went to hell in a hand basket. What happened?” she asked.
“The Time Council has taken Captain Hunter and the rest of the crew into custody,” Gideon explained and Leonard sighed.
“What did Rip do this time?” he growled.
“It would seem that the Time Council and the Time Masters are working with Vandal Savage.”
Leonard and Sara looked at each other, surprised.
“What?”
“Great, now we’re in serious trouble,” Leonard said, and Sara started pacing, looking angry.
“What are we going to do now? We’re in the Vanishing Point, a place run by the Time Masters reign. And there is no way to sneak out, and Gideon is still in desperate need of repair,” she said, listing off the endless list of shit that was very, very bad.
“Sara,” Leonard said, walking over to her and taking in a deep breath, “Breathe. We need a plan.”
She stopped, looking up at him.
“Okay, what’s the plan?”
“Miss Lance, Mr. Snart, I suggest hiding, the soldiers have returned.”
