You ever afraid you won’t…be able to live up to your potential? All the time.
cxnfessions:
Logan watched the scene evolve from afar, yet close enough to the blonde in case she were to need some support, but somehow what he had going on inside his chest, it gave that feeling that he stepped into a movie and couldn’t step out of it for some unknown reason. It was surreal. Even with how much of a mess her face was, not even talking about the other bruises spread across her body, her father seemed to be much more worried about saving his own ass than protecting his own daughter. It was sickening. His body straighten up slightly, when orders had been given to take him in and even though he knew about his innocence, that bodily reaction was purely defense. As moral support, he wasn’t going anywhere, even if he had a feeling that he couldn’t do much else for the blonde. Sometimes that was all what people needed, right? Support. A shoulder to cry on. Logan would attempt his very best to be whatever she needed from him. His chocolate hues shifted between all the adults present, finally resting on the woman standing closer to Annie. “I’ll be quiet. I promise.” He assured the woman, placing his other hand atop of the blonde’s, holding it tightly in his hold. Next couple of seconds, they were lead into what looked like an interrogation room and his gaze wandered somewhat, head unable to not compare to what he had seen in movies. Still, swiftly, he pulled out a chair for the blonde and only afterwards, did he sit next to her.
[ 𝔸 ] ― (...) It’s been hours. Many questions, some of them hard to answer. Soon the social worker joined them & it became this whole extremely overwhelming situation & without Logan’s support Annie would definitely break down. So many things had to be brought up & it wasn’t easy to tell every story of abuse that she could remember. Now Logan knew what a hell she was living & how hard it was for her to actually act normal. Then she was examined, pictured of her bruises where taken. She still had to go to the hospital for some test & simply to be taken care of. Because she made it clear that she doesn’t want to go back home social worker had to come up with a solution & since Annabelle didn’t have any close family she was probably going to put in a foster care for next few weeks till she turns eighteen. A long time later, after finally finishing her statement, the same police officer that was talking to them at the beginning offered to take her home to grab some things. Her father was still being kept on the station so she could actually go to her room & pack a bag. All three of them entered the house so the girl felt safe. Now packing her suitcase she felt like leaving everything she knew behind. She broke down seeing her room, almost finished with packing. “Now everyone will know. Kids at school, teachers, people in town... Everyone will look at me with pity.” She said sitting on her bed.

He had questioned if he would of ever been a good father, and he knew he may have never have that chance. After the first year of failed attempts, finding out that his count was low, he had felt like less of a man. That his body couldn’t handle doing something so simple as creating a child with his wife. But each time his wife cried, every night the tears fell and he could hear her and offer her nothing more than his loving arms wrapping around her and holding her tightly in his embrace. Twice when they had hoped he found himself praying it worked out for their sake and sanity but twice it failed. They agreed this was the last time they were going to try. The cost didn’t bother him he’d pay whatever it took to have a child but seeing Mallory breaking again he just kissed her head. “We can consider adoption, if this doesn’t work we will find some child that is in need of love.” He reassured her, his wife had the biggest heart he had ever come across and he knew she would make an excellent mother. So if they had to adopt then maybe they needed to stop down this path of them trying and just search for the child to bring into their home. “Hey, it’s not just you. I shoot more blanks than it’s worth.” He told her as he just rubbed her cheek with his spare hand. “It doesn’t make me love you any less darling. No. I love you more each day no matter what happens.” His voice was warm and calming knowing she was just freaking out wanting to know the results, and he was bracing himself for the not this time answer they’d most likely receive again.
[ 𝕄 ] ― They were in this together. Still it wasn’t something easy to comprehend. Why two people who love each other, who are responsible & financially stable have to go through so much to become parents. It was exhausting, not only all the medical stuff, all the shots, doctors visit but also the fact that their relationship was full of worries & had barely a place for fun or romance. Mallory missed times when they were going on dates, giggling like teenagers, or drinking wine on their couch. What if having biological children wasn’t meant to be? Maybe there was a reason why they couldn’t get pregnant naturally. With a sigh, Mallory squeezed her husband’s hand knowing that without him she wouldn’t be able to breathe. He truly was her everything. “You will be such a good dad.” That’s what she truly couldn’t wait for ― Noah with their baby, cuddling, sleeping, feeding, even changing a stinky diaper. Before she said anything more the door opened & their doctor came in with her chart in his hand. “It’s nice to see you.” He said after sitting behind his desk where he started looking at all the things written on the piece of paper. It’s been a minute & then he put on a smile. “Congratulations. Your hCG levels are high. It’s great. You are pregnant.” The Doctor said & then continued. “Please still take your meds. The same amount that was prescribed. “For today it’s everything. It’s too early for an ultrasound but we will take one next week. If everything goes well we will hear a heartbeat then.”

Gabe kept his gaze down as he sat in the familiar doctor’s office, waiting for Mallory’s test results. This was nothing new for the two of them, right after they got married they had been trying to extend their little family and it was much easier said than done. There was apart of him that felt so jealous of their friends who had children, some of them even already having multiple children and here they were, struggling to have one. He didn’t tell Mallory any of this, but instead tried to be the support system for the both of them. One of them had to be strong, and he didn’t mind taking that roll. He could see how much of a toll this was taking on her body, and how much it was messing the two of them mentally, but there was still this hope that the two of them held onto. It was hope and faith that was keeping them going and all he could do is try to refuel the both of them. “Don’t say that, Mal.” Gabe muttered as he ran his thumb over the back of her hand and gave her a small smile. There were times where they both took the blame or where one took more of the blame than the other, but he knew that there was no one they could point fingers at. Stuff like this just happened, even to good people like them. As he brought her hand to his lips, he gave her another small smile as he tried to relax. This was really their last chance of having a child, and if the doctor came back with negative results then he knew they’d have to start looking for other options. “We… we just gotta see what he says. If something happens, then we’ll just think about the next step.” Gabe said with a nod as he moved a bit closer to her. “I’m not going anywhere, I can promise you that. Me and you are in this together.”
[ 𝕄 ] ― It’s been making the whole process of trying for a baby simply terrifying. There was no fun, no joy. Just fail, after fail, after fail. No many how much they tried it was ending with nothing & losing a pregnancy. It wasn’t fair. It was... Heartbreaking. How long before they break completely? Or start fighting? It’s been close a few times, but they would always find a way to calm down. They had to be a team. After all, it was their dream. Mallory had enough of all the shots & pills. Her butt & stomach were all bruised & it was hard to sit sometimes. she felt like her body had no time to recover because they push hard on it. Obviously, it was her choice, but she wished it wasn’t so complicated. Now here they were hoping to find out if they are pregnant. This time Mallory pushed the date of the test, she wanted to have this & ultrasound over with in case the transfer didn’t work & not wait another few weeks to see if their baby has a heartbeat. First, she wanted to get her blood work done & no one really turned her demand down. “I just can’t handle another loss, okay? I just... I’m tired... We need a break or it’s going to kill us.” Their relationship was going through a really tough time. Maybe it was a good idea to just take a break & think about the other options they had. “We are a team, I know.” With a sad smile, Mallory nodded a little & then their doctor knocked on the door. Then he entered the room & welcomed them with a neutral smile. “Okay, so we got your results back.” He looked at both of them & Mallory squeezed her husband’s hand. “They look good. Very good. The levels are actually extremely high. So for sure, you are pregnant.” He put her chart down & pointed at the ultrasound machine. “So now we will take a look at the baby, shall we?”

“I’d love to look at some of Claire’s old pictures.” Colt said with a grin. Hopefully through all of these pictures, he would be able to rewind three years and pretend like he was there. He hadn’t seen any pictures ever of their daughter, and thankfully now, after all of these years he would be able to see her when she was a baby. When she took his phone, he chuckled to himself and shrugged his shoulders so she could add her number. It was strange that she didn’t have it, but years had gone by so he understood. “Yeah, thanks Annie.” He said with a smile as he sent her all of the photos, even the one of just the two of them. “Do you wanna see something funny?” Colt asked the little girl as he scrolled through some of the texts his mother sent him. She had been going through some of the photo albums the other day and sent some of him and Annie back in high school. As he pulled one up, he showed Claire and chuckled. “That was mommy and I when we went to homecoming the first time. It was our first dance that we ever went to together.” He said with another laugh. They did look very different since they were in high school, and it was amusing to see how the two of them had changed over all of these years. “Remember when we tried to match? Every single dance, I went and got a tie that matched her dress.” He said with a happy sigh as he showed Annie the picture as well. For a long time after Annie left, he was stuck in those high school memories. He just wanted to stay there forever, since that’s when he was the happiest. Being in her arms, hearing that she loved him, he hadn’t been happier. “You guys getting hungry? Want something to eat? Am I allowed to get food that’s not hospital food and bring it in?” He didn’t know if he could, but he knew that the two of them had probably not had the best meals here. “I could get some pizza… maybe pop in a movie? I don’t know.” He said with a little chuckle as he moved a bit so Claire could hop back up and sit with the two of them. “I’m up for whatever you two would like to do. We could keep playing ponies, too. I think I’m pretty good at that, and I think Cupcake likes me.”
[ 𝔸 ] ― “Actually... We’ve been eating off of deliveries for a long time now & I think neither I or Claire are pizza girls anymore.” It was actually a good think that Claire was never a picky eater, she would always be interested in trying new foods. “I don’t think she should eat anything that is considered fast food, especially now.. But if you are offering she is a big fan of broccoli or any other green vegetable. Also pasta.” Annie laughed at the idea of Claire trying to eat a spaghetti in her bed. Nothing too fat, nothing to unhealthy was still better than food at the hospital. It wasn’t bad here, but their choice was limited & Annie would much rather eat something bigger, especially since she wasn’t eating much in last few weeks, hence why she lost a little weight. “I want smoothie.” Claire said still holding her pony & going through her dad photoalbum. It was a whole new situation for this little one. She was seeing new faces & wanted to ask so many questions. “A Princess spoke. She wants a smoothie.” The blonde laughed looking at her daughter & then at her dad who grew so much. He wasn’t a sporty teenager anymore. He was a grown man, muscular, nicely dressed, taken care of. It was nice to know that her decision wasn’t wasted & he actually became someone she wished for him. Annabelle moved closer to him & whispered; “Anything with mango & she will love you forever.” A way to little girl’s heart; her favorite fruit. Knock, knock. Suddenly they heard someone knocking & Claire’s doctor came in. “Hello.” He smiled looking at his patient & then her mom. “So, I came to talk to you about Claire’s treatment. Is it okay to...” He pointed at Colt’s presence in the room & seeing Annabelle’s nod he cntinued; “Unfortnately she’s going to need a surgery. After all the tests we are positive it will be possible to repair the defect & make sure she won’t have any troubles it in the future. Overall she’s in a good condition & her age is good to recover fast from the surgery. We need to schedule it as soon as possible.”

[ 𝕄 ] ― None of this was fair; while some people were getting pregnant by accident, not even wanting a baby, other were trying for years without getting what they are dreaming of. Mallory & her husband were married for over three years & since the beginning they were trying to make their family bigger. For the first year it was something fun, something they both enjoyed, but with each month it was getting harder & harder. Another period, another lost chance. Specialists recommend asking for help after twelve months of trying & that’s exactly what they did. It was heartbreaking to find out that they are both the problem. Their infertility journey began. Since then it was already almost two years & still, they didn’t successfully become parents. They miscarried twice unfortunately. Now, after another transfer of an embryo Mallory was full of fear. It was draining to go through the whole process, not only physically but mostly mentally. However with such a supportive partner it was manageable. They were in their doctor’s office. Waiting for the blood work results to be back. She either was pregnant or not. It was scary to think that they spent so much money on trying to get pregnant & it could still possibly fail. Sitting on the chair, waiting for the doctor to come Mallory broke down. “I think we should consider adoption after this. Maybe it’s not meant to be...” She said holding her husband’s hand. “I know how much we wanted to have a baby but... I guess my body isn’t made to carry babies.” She truly blamed herself not all this.

“Just tell me one thing.” Maya said as she turned to look at the male, head tilting as if to show her curiosity in the situation. “Did I mean anything to you? Did what we have mean anything to you? Or was it all a game? See if you could fuck the rich girl?”
[ 𝓗 ] ― Harrison didn’t like confrontations, he would always step away, let the other have right if that meant he would be left alone. That’s exactly who he was ― an outsider, someone who preferred to stay away from drama. At school people would often make jokes about him, but truly... he didn’t care much. He had enough on his plate to think about what people at school think of him. All that said made him little... Cold. He wasn’t someone to talk about emotions, he didn’t like to share what’s on his mind. It wasn’t easy for him to open up, but he tried his hardest to not be a douche. Because all this time no one has once been interested in him it was extremely hard for him to understand why such a girl like Maya likes him. He wasn’t taking this seriously & was doubting she’s true with her feelings. The fact that the whole school was constantly reminding him that she’s way too good for him made it even worse. So he figured it would be better fr both of them to just end things & stop lying to themselves. Obviously he cared, obviously he had feelings for her. “If you really think that I’m that type of guy then I guess we are doing a right thing to break up.” He said with his face washed out of emotions.

[ 𝓗 ] ― “Listen, I don’t really know how relationships work & what to tell you to make you feel better, but I guess… It will get better?” Harper said playing with her straw. It was already her third drink that evening & she was slowly, but surely heading towards the drunktown. “The only thing that worries me is the fact that it’s Valentines & you are here, with me, drinking your problems away. I’m pretty sure couples should spend that day together.” The blonde didn’t mind spending time with him, especially since she kind of missed him in many way since he decided to find himself a girlfriend. It was nice to just sit& talk, but still weird since it was the day focused on love. “Maybe… Call her or something?”

it was raining cats and dogs. the rain pounded hard on the roof of his apartment and abel sighed as he looked out over the cafe. nights like these made him think of the woman he had fallen in love with. not sophie’s mother, but his most recent girlfriend. they had been together for a few years and abel had finally decided he was ready to propose. his daughter loved her like a mother, something she desperately needed in her life since hers walked out on them. but he had never gotten the chance. it was as if she could read his mind and once he was ready to make that commitment, that’s when she bolted, leaving both abel and sophie behind. he was heart broken. his daughter had lost the closest thing she had ever had to a mother and he was angry. so when he saw her, walking through the rain and towards his front door, his jaw clenched. he didn’t want to answer the door. he wanted to leave her in the cold to rot for hurting both him and his daughter. but he needed closure. walking downstairs to the cafe and unlocking the door, he looked at her angrily. “what are you doing here? what do you want?”
Truth to be told, Harper was someone who couldn’t imagine herself in a serious relationship. Since the early years of her childhood, she didn’t have a good example of how a healthy relationship should look like & seeing how many problems grown-ups face she was simply terrified at the idea of growing up & being with someone. That’s why she was avoiding any kind of connection & on living on one night stands & casual hook-ups with guys who preferred to not get too serious. Obviously one day it stopped because she started seeing Abel. There was something about him that made Harper stay in a relationship, not even the fact that he’s already a father turned her off. It was weird because she wasn’t planning on having kids, ever & she was never good with them, but once again it was different that time. Sophie was getting very close to Harper & when she started realizing how serious her life is getting, she simply... Got scared. It wasn’t something she could see herself in. To add to the whole situation she completely accidentally found the velvet box with an engagement ring. It was enough. She couldn’t stay there & wait to see everything falling down. She would always mess things up & she couldn’t ruin their life; they deserved for so much more than she was ever going to offer. So she left. Left them behind like they didn’t mean a thing; while in reality they became her whole world. [...] A lot happened in three months, but there was no day she wouldn’t be thinking about them. It was so selfish of her to think about them; wonder what they are doing, if they are happy, angry or sad. Time was flying by & then she got a call from the hospital. Her dad was in a car accident. The same night, when it was already pretty late, after hearing her father’s last words she got in the car & started driving. The rain was pouring, she could barely see anything but she had to get to her destination. Not that far away from the place she was supposed to be her car broke. It just stopped & it was too rainy to even check what is going on. So Harper started walking. It’s been twenty minutes when she finally got to the very well known door, soaking wet, shivering from the cold, not feeling her feet & hands anymore. Knocking on the door just for a moment before the familiar face opened it. Rain mixed with her own tears, so it was hard to guess if she was crying on not. “My whole life I was terrifed of commitments, I was scared of letting someone love me. I was running away from relationships & couldn’t imagine myself as a part of a team.” She said with her voice breaking now & then. “Then I met you & Sophie. I got so involved in everything & when I started thinking about it... I felt like I don’t belong here. What If I disappoint you, what If I do something wrong..” She wrapped her arms around herself because it really was a cold night. “I got scared. I packed my things & left with no goodbye. I’ve made the biggest mistake of my life & I'd regret it for the rest of my life if I didn’t say it to you. I love you, both. I’m sorry for leaving, I’m sorry for messing things up. I’m...” She truly was a heartbroken, till now Harper had no idea that her heart belonged to these two. It was scarry ti took her three months to finally do something, but what her dad told her was what she wished she knew. Don’t ever say no to love.
