a gasp    ,      hand is drawn back   &   clutched tightly to his chest.    immediately an  apologetic look  overcomes his features  ,     he hadn’t meant to touch the other  ,   nor to have such a strong reaction to it.      ‘  sorry  …   ‘      he  mumbles    ,   glancing sheepishly at the ground.    ‘  it’s just …   you’re so cold.    ‘  

sure  ,   jae ran  WARMER  than humans ,   but he knew how people were  supposed  to feel.    unless … this was normal for them  ?     he hated to assume  ,   it just felt   wrong.     ‘   are you  …   um  …     ok ?   ‘     /     @painsaws​     (  ♡  )

  It wasn’t the first time they’d made someone reel back from them upon contact- and it undoubtedly wouldn’t be the last. DG had at least tamed their reaction to contact by now; no longer did a brush by them put them back in a war zone. But the poor stranger who’d run into them! They took a couple steps away, tilting their head a fraction and smiling gently. More often than not had they been told they felt like a corpse; today was one of the few times DG wasn’t wearing half their weight in layers to conceal that. 

  But all they did was nod, offering dual thumbs up. No point trying to sign- never worked in their favor. They paused, before making a small motion to fan themself despite definitely not needing it. 

  Yeah! If anything, I’m kinda warm...

i just remembered my take on a modern au so im gonna ramble about it

‘DG’ blazkowicz. no one knows what DG stands for. what they do know is that DG just showed up one day, and applied to be a volunteer at the local animal shelter. they then got a job at the flower shop nearby. tried to get a job at the bakery, but as they explained, their ‘cooking methods’ just didnt work well with the company. they’re an odd one, certainly; over eight feet tall, bulky and covered in scars. no one knows where they came from, and they refuse to ever say. but they’re nothing but sweet, and if you’re in any kind of trouble, you can be certain they’ll have your back. if you’ve earned it. 

rumor has it that they’re from an alternate world; one where things didn’t go quite so well for earth, and they’re working on a dimensional portal in their basement to get back there. but that seems a little silly, doesn’t it?
