Millennial proverb
ha yeah sorry i don't actually find it funny that one of the grosser misogynistic slurs is now a meme-y way of saying stylish. yes i know, i know. australia and drag queens exist. and getting offended isn't very reclaimful or demure of me. or whatever.
today a politician called a woman in his own party a cunt in parliament and people are cheering it on. she is a misogynistic conservative, doesn't mean that shit is okay or should be normalised.
full screen, no description or any words on the ad whatsoever.
So what? Are you too good to see Oprah's Device?
Men think all pro-women movements are anti-men because all pro-men movements are anti-women. Same thing for white people and poc's movements.
It's that thing: thieves always think all people steal.
Another male trolling radblr, block him!!!
His bio is a lie btw, he is not trying to rid himself of toxic masculinity, he’s a trans ideologue and has said TERFs should have lobotomies done to them.

woman: hey it's misogynistic to compliment men dressed as women by saying that they pass as real women with the word "fish", a way to refer to a woman's vagina smelling fishy
commenters: umm girl you don't get it..... that particular misogynistic term is used by trans women and gay guys, a group of men who are above reproach and criticism! it's their culture! plus it doesn't even mean that, but even if it did, it's not that big of a deal, and if it is, then that's not their fault, and if it is then they didn't mean it, and if they did then you probably are fishy and you're transphobic. anyway you aren't allowed to criticize trans women and gay men so just delete your account.
It’s funny that where it actually came from was explained in the video but you still blacked out and went “YOU THINK MY PUSSY SMELLS”
it wasn't explained in the video, the video only contains the text "giving fish is such a weird a misogynistic thing to say", but feel free to enlighten me on the history of the term
It’s in the comments you screenshotted and didn’t bother to read. Catfish to fish.
I read all of the comments I screenshotted, that's actually how I discerned between what to screenshot, and what not to screenshot, I read the words on the screen. Just because a tiktok comment says something, does not make it true. The word "catfish" as a slang term to describe deceiving someone with your appearance was not made popular until around 2010 with the release of the documentary movie and tv show by that name, whereas "fish" has been documented as being used for decades before that.
in fact, here's proof. this is from Gay Talk, a dictionary of gay slang, originally published in 1972, which I viewed on the internet archive. It explicitly states that fish was used to refer to vulvas, vaginas having a fishy odor, and real women.
try not to feel too embarrassed that you were so confident and so wrong.
I can’t speak for how fags use it. I don’t see a trans woman in sight using it that way though. If it were derogatory in the sense it was probably targeted towards them as well judging by the definition.
oh really because you seemed pretty confident it meant catfish? what a weird coincidence how trans women who are historically very connected to gay male culture for obvious reasons, use the exact same term, "fish" in the same context (that male person is passing as a real female or looks very feminine), but when gay men use it, it references vaginas smelling like fish, with this definition dating back to the early 70s, and when trans women use it, it means "catfish", a slang term popularized in the early 2010s, and referencing a documentary tv show. it's funny how that worked out in favor of trans women being not being responsible for any misogyny
I mean you didn’t show me anything where trans women were being misogynistic you showed me where gay men were
okay so at first, the term meant catfish, nothing misogynistic, and had nothing to do with vaginas smelling like fish. then I proved you wrong, and then you said that okay fine gay men use it that way to mean that vaginas smell like fish, but trans women don't. I pointed out that they use the same word in the same context, so it's unlikely to have a different meaning. then you say that yes, gay men are being misogynistic by using the term, but there is no evidence of trans women being misogynistic when using that term.
well, there is certainly plenty of evidence of trans women using the term "fish" to say "I or that other male person pass as a female" as you can see in the images, but neither you or I are mind-readers, so we can't tell exactly what they mean when they say this. but given that trans women historically were a part of gay male culture, and gay male culture used that exact same term, in that exact same context, it would be an unreasonable logical jump to assume that trans women use it with a different definition.
your mental gymnastic floor routine is getting a silver from me, could be better
And all of the trans women you posted are referring to themselves not cis women and it is a compliment not deragatory. I never said it didn’t concern passing I said commenters were talking about its correlation to Catfish which would still relate to passing. None of these women used it like the gay man did. You’re obsessed with seeing bigotry where it’s not there.
you're right, it is a compliment, but you're wrong about it being derogatory. and they are using it the same way as the gay men. read the page from "gay talk", it says "a straight woman, any woman". these trans women are clearly saying that they look like real women, or are indistinguishable from real women. "I'm serving fish" means "I'm unclockable and feminine and look like a real woman", therefore "fish" is taking the place of "real woman" in the sentence. they are referring to cis women, in order to compliment themselves, and you know that. they are using it to mean the same thing as the gay men did. again, read the page in the book, the sentence used as an exmaple is "I can't talk to a fish unless I think it's a boy in drag", with "fish" meaning woman. " I can't talk to a woman unless I think it's a boy in drag". now look at what the trans women are saying; "I'm serving fish" means "I'm serving biological woman". in both cases, fish is a stand-in for woman.
Sure and that’s still not derogatory or in implying anything about the smell of vaginas which was what you originally stated. Show me a case where a trans woman’s use of fish is deprecatory to the scent of a cis woman’s vagina. You can’t.
they are literally using "fish" as a replacement for "woman". that is derogatory. if it doesn't reference vaginas smelling like fish, please tell me what it does reference, and don't try the whole "catfish" thing again.
accused of using too many ellipses... don't care... there's always more to come...
