Here’s the final for my multiple appendaged barista with a few close ups! I tried to keep the palette warm with browns and greens.
Second sketch was originally done when I attempted the monster girl challenge. I had a job as a barista, and often kind of wished I had a few extra arms. Now I realize I would be even more horribly discoordinated—have a hard enough time with just the two. First one is the updated version, an excuse to get more practice with backgrounds. Drew the background and my many-armed barista separately and the put them in my iPad and put them together.
Finished version tomorrow! (Or at least finished for now?)
OMG this one was agony T____T. Foreshortening in the limbs and still didn’t get the most recent incarnation just right. But she has a bow on her butt, and that’s all that matters, lol.
First is the final drawing, second is the original, and the last one is the original sketch <3
And now for something completely different... And new!
Specially done for Halloween! Might play with this one more later. When I finished the gargoyle, I wanted a background, even though it was more of a tattoo idea. He’s from some old sketches that were frankensteined into one critter. Couldn’t figure out the horns, so drew them somewhere else... Then couldn’t figure out the wings, so drew them on yet another part of the page. I pulled references from... bats, lions, pit bulls, and hmmmm, don’t actually remember where I got the ears from?
I’m trying to get back into doing *something* other than floating figures—background, design...
I remember being so frustrated with this one—I started out too dark, but I just kind of kept moving alone, hoping it would work out (sometimes it does....). Then the profiles were off, and tried to fix it by refining lines and using white ink. So it was cool to get it in the colors that I wanted
Lovely characters are re-enacting a scene from Casablanca. A movie I haven’t watched in a while actually...
Ahhh! A favorite of mine. <3. The angle was so hard to get, so I was really happy when I got it just right (and cropped it as you can tell from the original sketch). More edits from old drawings. ^___^()
More of the digital edits... from a drawing that may look familiar. X D. I remember messing up/having a hard time with a few bits on this one, so I got to go back and refine things. Mechanical things are hard for me T___T
Finally an original drawing! Though this one may look familiar, from an older post, lol.
I was still intimidated by the iPad, and still couldn’t figure out how I wanted to do colors up until a few months ago. I had a few lines done and piling up, and was working on putting all my old (are they really old??) drawings into one binder, but nothing new and finished. A lot of my older stuff had a tendency to sometimes get muddy, and some of the vibrancy would get lost through the scanning process—so that’s where I found a way to work on colors and editing.
Even though I *most* *likely* spent way too much time on this, I found it relaxing and fun. Second image is the original (which you can also see a post of somewhere buried in this blog), and the third is the original sketch. (I might start putting those in? I always liked seeing the thought process of other artists, would people be interested in seeing mine?)
Colored this one not long after finishing Strange the Dreamer (again, sometime about a year ago), which is amazing (also just finished Muse of Nightmares a week ago!!). The author is insane. Strange gave me an awesome palette to work with: blue skin and how to show the lights and darks of the skin. I had fun working with the shading of the face, the nose, the eyes, cheekbones. The gear-hat-thingy was tricky, I tried to make it look like the same colors as citadel from the book, or the color I imagined. That book affected me for a week! I was glad I found a picture that I could work with.
Spotted a pretty intriguing coloring book at the bookstore—literally last year. Artist’s block was still in full swing. Can’t describe it, only that I wanted to *do something* and this coloring book was what got me tentatively back into at least coloring. I have a few more of these, which were all fun, intricate, and great for figuring out colors, both traditional and digital. Helped me warm up to editing and adjusting digitally as well.
Hey guys! I know it’s been a little while.... If people really follow this thing anymore. O_o. Thanks for sticking around for those who are following... <3 Hope Tumblr is still a thing too.... That whole time slipping through your fingers thing in adulthood is no joke.
Oh yes! I have an Instagram as well:

Social media is a bit of a challenge for me to keep up with but I’m going to try to get back in the habit. Tumblr has the plus of being able to queue future posts— do everything in one go and not worry about it for a bit. Instagram is... well instant. Deviantart might be the only other one I’m going to try to tangle with. XD
About life I suppose: went through some life changes, went through an artists block for a while, moved, new job, etc. Did a few doodles here and there, got some adult coloring books so I was at least doing something about a year ago... Then January finally felt well enough to keep up with a sketchbook since. Got an iPad Pro (which I’m delightfully on right now!) and started doing stuff on that too.
But I’ve got enough stuff that I feel like I can queue stuff up and get things going here (some of it will be a repeat of some things that I’ve already got up on Insta, but there will be more thoughts and details about them here if you’re interested...). Eventually I hope to have them both updating around the same time. Yay goals!
Look forward to keeping in touch!!
Working on getting used to colors on the procreate. Might mess around more with this 😋.
Juuuuuuust finished with the line art for this. OMG the wires were painful but totally worth it.
I think I’m gonna stop apologizing for the irregular updates 😅. I’ve been getting back into the habit of drawing *something* everyday. This is some line work using the sketches I did for mermay, my Jelly Lady and Jelly Warrior. I have an Instagram now! itsclockworktime if you’d like to follow me there too. Not much up quite yet.
Whoa, let me dust this thing off 😅. It's been a while! Here's a Christmas gift I did for my friend a while back. It's the first time I've used egg tempura-- I learned quite a lot
Posted this to the wrong blog and couldn’t figure out where it went... So reposting it again... I did this a couple of weeks ago. Someone requested that I draw Jessica Rabbit on a mouse pad. Not sure what the logo is at the bottom right
Having fun with fusions... Can’t tell I got into a new cartoon? OMG can’t get enough of Steven Universe. There needs to be more merch of this show!
Experimented with some sailor moon baddy fusions. You can’t help but see some sailor moon influences in SU, which is most likely why I love it so much.... And the lesbians.... All the lesbians!
There will be more! That I can promise!
