What makes people think Max and Chloe were even in love? Rachel and Chloe clearly were but I just don’t see it with Max and Chloe, they’re more friends than lovers.
Well, we all have our opinions, friend.
But for me, Max and Chloe are in love and always have been.
Look at the entire game. Look at all the shit Max went through. Look at all the things she saw and felt.Â
Did she have to go through all that?
Max could have easily walked out on Chloe again. She could have easily not given a shit about a missing girl shes never met, but she does. She does because Max cares about Chloe and cares about the things that are important to her.Â
Hell, Max cares so much that she is willing to rip apart space and time just to make Chloe happy.Â
Max is willing to give up her dream of becoming a photographer for Chloe. She’s willing to give up everything just to keep her safe and alive.
“Sorry, San Fransico… Chloe comes first”
In her journal, Max constantly talks about how much Chloe means to her. She constantly says it too.
“I’m so glad you’re my partner in crime”
“The moment I saw her beautiful pissed off face and butterfly blue hair, I wanted to kiss her again”
“You make me feel like I know what I’m doing”
“Listen, whatever happens, I want you to be strong, even if you feel like I wasn’t there for you because I will never abandon you, Chloe. I’ll always have your back. Always”.
“You are my number one priority, you are all that matters to me”
“I won’t trade you”
I mean, Max clearly has feelings for Chloe. She flat out says it, and goes on a 3-page rant about it in her journal!
And Chloe with the whole “Max. Boss with the gun. Marry me” thing?
And Max not saying “No”
The “I just don’t think anyone is good enough for you… except me”.
They kissed too, (if you choose to do so) and even then Max later say she wishes she had kissed Chloe.
And Chloe protects her multiple times, from Frank, Nathan, David, even from her nightmare herself.
Chloe is willing to sacrifice herself so that Max doesn’t have to deal with the guilt of killing thousands just to keep her alive. She doesn’t want to put that pain on Max.
There’s even cut audio of Max SAYING she loves Chloe.
So yeah… I think they’re in love.
But, hey, what do I know?
