The Annie Awards last night was incredible! It was surreal to be seating amongst so many talented people responsible for the past, present and future of the Animation industry, and to be sharing this moment with my amazing wife. We didn't win, but I'm beyond proud of what we have created. How to Train your Dragon is a world phenomenon, and I'm honored to have been a small part of it working along side this dream team. The villain! Grimmel is another personal favorite. This is the painting I did of the character, but there were some really talented people involved in the process until we got here. The final concept was done by Carter Goodrich (@goodrich_carter), the vis dev model by the brilliant Charles Ellison (@charles_c_ellison), with whom I had the pleasure to work with to get to the final model.
