listen man i'll rage against annoying comic writers' shitty writing decisions as much as the next guy but at the end of the day i'm only going to give so much of a shit. king wrote the best supergirl story in years, and also a garbage batman run. taylor is about as problematic as any other terminally online white liberal, he's just a mediocre writer with a lot of big books so his annoyingness gets blown out of proportion. you can have negative parasocial relationships too and some of y'all are really obsessive and i think it takes away from both your enjoyment of comics and your general understanding of media

So I’m going to assume the reason people think that Robin Jason was written as edgy in the webtoon was because of this line.

But I don’t see that as being out of character for him. That just seems like how he often is when his parents are brought up.

I think because of DC so often trying to retcon Jason to be angry and edgy all the time as a kid people have decided he was actually the total opposite, and they’ve started to ignore the moments he had where he wasn’t all happy and smiley. The truth is he’s never been one extreme or the other. He was a good kid who sometimes got angry or upset about things in his life, and that doesn’t make him a bad person. Especially considering the fact that more often than not his anger came out when it involved his parents.
