𝜗𝜚 ⠀⠀yukiko okazaki. prefect of ramshackle, beast tamer, the magicless student of night raven college.
⠀⠀⠀yukiko fell into this world with just her uniform, her dead iphone in her pocket, and her school bag clutched tight against her chest.
⠀⠀⠀when introduced, yukiko appears to be a kind and gentle girl who just so happened to be waking up in a coffin at the night raven college orientation. yukiko is also shown to be a bit of a tantalizer, teasing grim and the rest of the cast on some occasions to the point of being rather sadistic about it.
⠀⠀⠀yukiko is a daydreamer first and foremost. having been raised as a proper lady, yukiko is generally very relaxed and carries a peaceful demeanor to the point where she tends to respond to (twisted) wonderland's nonsense with grace and nonchalance. she has an open mind, given that she quickly gets used to the existence of magic, nor was she been scared at the sight of ghosts, on the contrary, she is thrilled to be able to see them even without magic, much to their bewilderment. yukiko is also very intelligent, being knowledgeable about scientific nomenclatures and court proceedings.
⠀⠀⠀yukiko's eagerness to show off her knowledge, coupled with her push for respect, sensibility, and fairness, proved to be unfavorable to the chaotic environment in (twisted) wonderland, as her resistance to everybody's nonsense has landed her in many precarious situations.
⠀⠀⠀still, she is polite, honest, and articulate, if not given a reason to be otherwise as aforementioned. she is also very adventurous, idealistic, and curious, as shown by her initial fascination with (twisted) wonderland. however, she soon discovers how unbearable a world of nonsense is, which tones down her curiosity and sense of adventure in favor of returning home.
⠀⠀⠀not much is known about yukiko's past, other than that she was a calm child from a young age and had a quiet and carefree childhood being homeschooled until high school, spending most of her time at home without any hobbies, passions or friends.
⠀⠀⠀one day after school on the way back from the convenience store, she saw a stray cat getting soaked in the rain. she attempted to keep the cat from getting wet, but it ran off. suddenly, she got run over by a black carriage and gets transported to night raven college where she meets grim and the other dorm leaders.
⠀⠀⠀rejected by the mirror of darkness for her lack of magic powers, yukiko soon discovers she is in another world. without the possibility of returning home, yukiko is hired as a janitor and grim's supervisor by crowley in exchange of food and lodging. although devoid of magic and a way to return to her world, her special circumstances allow yukiko to stay in the ramshackle dorm with grim and assume the position of prefect.
⠀⠀⠀the name "yukiko" (子) contains the kanji meaning "child" paired with characters representing snow (雪), happiness (幸), or reason (由). common interpretations include "snow child" (雪子), "child of happiness" (幸子), or "reason/cause child" (由紀子). ( correct me if that's wrong pls )
⠀⠀⠀yukiko realizes that she does not speak the same language as the inhabitants of twisted wonderland. according to her, she is somehow “translating” her japanese thoughts into an unfamiliar language.
⠀⠀⠀⠀she frequently quotes memes from her original world, leading to strange looks from her classmates and friends.
⠀⠀⠀if she was in my little pony, she'd be a unicorn.
⠀⠀⠀yukiko often wondered if she could be aromantic in her original world, but later discovered she might've just not been that interested in boys and dating as her friends were.
⠀⠀⠀yukiko reads really trash LGBTQ ( yuri, yaoi ) comics and fiction, but will take it to the grave. after a while, ace found out and began teasing her, but later pinky swore he wouldn't tell anybody else.
