Still doing my deep dive into the Seeds and The Book of Joseph has so many inconsistencies with their ages.
Page 9: “a child of about 10.” describing Joseph.
Page 11: “the young Joseph, age 7…”
It also references their elementary school, which typically holds children between the ages of 5 and 11, going to see ‘Gone With the Wind’ in theatres.
This movie was re-released in theatres in Atlanta in 1989, and theatrical runs back then lasted around 4-6 months, the passage references Old Man Seed lecturing the school with both Joseph and Jacob attending.
“With Joseph under one arm and Jacob under the other, he stormed out of the room, still hurling curses.”
They’re two years apart, meaning Jacob would be 9 and Joseph 7… in 1989.
Meaning Joseph would have had to have been born in 1982 and Jacob in 1980, but that makes them 36 and 38 respectively in 2018 when Far Cry 5 is set, but they’re said to be 42 and 44.
John is said to be 32 in Far Cry 5, but if my numbers are right… he’d actually be born in 1992, as he’s 10 years younger than Joseph. So John would be 26… but he’s a lawyer, and it’s rare to be younger than 23 to receive that title. And he was a lawyer for years before he reunited with Joseph and Jacob…
But supposedly, Jacob was born in 1974 and Joseph in 1976, which would make John born in 1986.
If these birth years are true:
• Jacob would be 15 in 1989, not in Elementary School but High School.
• Joseph would be 13 in 1989, still not in Elementary School, but High School.
So why has Joseph made them all 6 years younger in his book?
This is all based on if my math is right and I haven’t misinterpreted this section of the book, but there is no way Joseph was 13 in Elementary School unless he was held back for 2-3 years.
