the stark parallels between the anakin/obi wan mustafar duel and the kylo/rey starkiller duel are so cool. like a planet of fire and a planet of ice. and rey leaving kylo injured in the snow like kenobi left anakin burning in the lava. the making of a scar that parallels anakins one. the shot of the two of them struggling holding each others arms with the lightsabers still in their hands. the end of a mentor/mentee relationship compared with what could have been the beginning of one if rey had accepted kylos offer. rey taking that same lightsaber that belonged to both anakin and kylo with her like obi wan did. i half expected rey to tearfully yell ‘you were my brother’ across that canyon tbh. they basically took the mustafar scene and flipped it on it’s head.
