#takebackthe100 - A Fandom Revival Event (November 22 - 30)

Since the end of the show (or really since mid-season-7) there has been a significant decline in fandom participation, and perhaps fandom enjoyment as a whole. The 100 may now be over, and we may not have enjoyed the ending, but that does not diminish the parts of the show that we did love. We don’t need to lose the things we enjoyed about the show because the last season(s) overshadowed them. 

This event aims to allow the fandom to reminisce on “the best” parts of the show, as each person sees it and take back those parts. There is no reason why we should allow JR to continue to ruin that which we once loved.

Day 1: Favorite Character(s) Day 2: Favorite Relationship(s) Day 3: Favorite Season/Storyline Day 4: Favorite Group/Location Day 5: Favorite Quote(s) Day 6: Favorite Underrated/Underrepresented Character and/or Relationship Day 7: Favorite Memorable Scene / Reason(s) You Watched Day 8: Cast Appreciation Day 9: Fan/Fandom Appreciation - (Rec fics, rec blogs, rec meta or posts, reblog favorite edits/manips/gifsets, link (with full credit) favorite fanvideos, send asks (anon or not) to favorite blogs and tell them why you value them in the fandom)

For some, this can serve as a final goodbye, for others a chance to rekindle their love for the characters and the show. Or, if nothing else, this can be a celebration of the fandom and the journey we all went on together.

The entire canon may exist, but we do not have to acknowledge what we do not wish to acknowledge. A happier ending exists for the show, and that happier ending can be found within the fandom.

Feelings. Jesus. The truth is, for so long, I’d forgotten what those even were. I’ve been stuck in one place, in a cave, you might say. A deep, dark cave. And then, I left some Eggos out in the woods, and you came into my life and for the first time in a long time, I started to feel things again. I started to feel happy. But, lately, I guess I’ve been feeling distant from you. Like you’re pulling away from me or something. I miss playing board games every night, making triple-decker Eggo extravaganzas at sunrise, watching westerns together before we doze off. But I know you’re getting older. Growing. Changing. And I guess if I’m being really honest, that’s what scares me. I don’t want things to change. So, I think maybe that’s why I came in here, to try to maybe stop that change. To turn back the clock. To make things go back to how they were. But I know that’s naive. It’s just not how life works. It’s moving. Always moving, whether you like it or not. And, yeah, sometimes it’s painful. Sometimes it’s sad. And sometimes it’s surprising. Happy. So, you know what? Keep on growing up, kid. Don’t let me stop you. Make mistakes, learn from ‘em, and when life hurts you, because it will, remember the hurt. The hurt is good. It means you’re out of that cave. But, please, if you don’t mind, for the sake of your poor old dad, keep the door open three inches.
