Hi there! I’m J or JB (any/all pronouns are fine) and this is my fic-centric sideblog.
I am an elder millennial (I remember 9/11 but not the Challenger explosion), thus this blog and its contents are 18+. I am a femme of color, thus this blog and its contents are pro-trans, pro-queer, and rooting for everybody black and brown.
My current fandom loves are BG3, The Locked Tomb, and Dimension20; my forever loves include Star Trek and Stardew Valley. As I write fics and respond to prompts, I’ll pop links into the master list below the cut. You can also find me on ao3 under the same username.

Genevieve Clearwater looked at the wreckage of her late grandfather’s farm in dismay, her dreams of rehabbing the land into an idyllic homestead vanishing in a wave of intense and complete panic.
Pierre had fully consented to join his wife for a romantic interlude with her best friend, but he could freely admit that this was not what he had expected.

write bad fanfic. write mediocre fanfic. write fanfic that a thousand people before you have already written. write niche fanfic. write fanfic that only a few people will read or understand. write fanfic just for you. write fanfic just for a friend. write ocs. write self-inserts. the fact that you’re taking the time and energy to put your ideas into the world is amazing and people who shame you for it need to find better ways to spend their time.
Fun Fact about yourself? My summer job in high school was playing violin at weddings. Lots of fun (and mildly horrifying) stories from that :D
How long have you been writing fanfiction? I’ve been writing fanfic since the 90s! But I started posting to AO3 in 2023
Favourite SDV character to write? Surprisingly, Caroline! I think she can be really complex and interesting (although you wouldn’t necessarily know from my main fic, Down Bad for the Good Doctor)
Favourite tropes/genre to write? I love writing people falling for each other: pining, yearning, realizing. It’s good stuff.
Your most popular SDV fanfic? Down Bad for the Good Doctor has the highest number of views, but I feel like Spun Sugar is more popular
Your SDV underdog fic you wish more people would give a chance? “Every kiss from you would be a miracle” — it’s a crossover (so that’s harder for people to get into), but I really think I cooked with that one.
Hear me out: The only thing better than a SDV OTP is a polycule ;) let all the blorbos kiss already!
Lastly, any other fandoms you write for? I’ve written and posted fics for BG3 and Stray Gods: A Roleplaying Musical; there may be some other fandoms (like D20) in my WIP folder 👀
