In fact, in my experience, men (but especially conservative men, which in some sense is all of them) think in very black-and-white Madonna/whore terms when it comes to women. Any kind of eccentric makeup or bright hair color just instantly puts you in the "whore" camp in men's eyes. So it's the opposite of man repellent, instead it's like a neon sign for abuser asshole men.

Also -- I'm a very plain-looking gnc woman and I got insane amounts of aggressive sexual attention from conservative men when I had to be around them. They truly believe that life is meaningless without conflict, and the sexual manifestation of this hero's journey delusion of theirs is that ALL of them fantasize about "taming the shrew." Don't like how women are sexualized in media? You've got to deconstruct your internalized puritanism. Pointing out male violence? Fear of the "other" puts minority men at risk therefore any criticism against males (unless it's cishet able bodied white ones) empowers discrimination policies. Capitalism wants you to feel bad about yourself and buy things to fill that void but don't criticize the aestheticization of LGBT identity or else you're a bigot.
