January 2018 Skaters...er, Announcers of the Month! Jerzey Derby Brigade

You might not know their faces, but anyone who has been to a game will certainly recognize their voices! This frigid January we are shining a bright warm spotlight on our announcers, Kosher Nostra and Dougie B. They came to announcing through different channels. Dougie B’s better half is powerhouse Jammer Californikate. Kosher Nostra is a Skater on temporary leave from JDB. While each of our announcers possesses an excellent sense of humor and wealth of derby knowledge on their own, together they are a dynamic duo. There’s a natural connection between these two, and their witty banter makes the long time outs entertaining. Their play-by-play announcing ensures that even the newest derby fans are able to understand what is happening in this fast paced sport. What few people realize is that these announcers don’t get paid for their hard work. Like all our volunteers, they do it out of love for the sport.
