The L Word: Generation Q (2019) Official Teaser
30 things I've experienced at age 30.
It was a rollercoaster of a year, but everything that happened taught me something even if it didn't make it on this list.
1. It started on a sweet note, an entire lesbian bar sang happy birthday to me in French 🥰
2. Got my first tattoo.
3. Lost my grandpa. The toughest, strongest, kid at heart-est, gentleman I know.
4. Lots of home improvement projects from plumbing to electrical to woodworking to flooring, patchwork, and painting. (Feeling pretty confident about building my own tiny home someday)
5. Forced to be "man of the house" with all of the responsibilities but none of the power. You just have to learn as you go, try your best even if you're scared, and hope the people you protect feels safe and cared for.
6. Was misunderstood for something that was never my intention despite efforts in trying to respect and do exactly what was asked.
7. Bell's Palsy
8. Temporarily got back in touch with my artsy-fartsy, low budget, creative side for a special project.
9. Nearly broke my ribs falling out a tree. It was very badly bruised. All wounds heal with time... eventually.
10. Found my dad after 10 years of not being in each other's lives. He is dying and I feel like an asshole because I don't care.
11. Three mental breakdowns, an anxiety/panic attack, and the resurrection of my old friend depression. Did I mention, my self-esteem and confidence was at an all time low and I questioned my existence? Mental illness is real. Thankful for the supportive people in my life.
12. Went to my first therapy session ever. It wasn't Google, alcohol, my sister, or a friend. It was an actual professional. Not sure if I'll go back, that was three months ago.
13. Fostered a dog and ended up adopting her. Definitely the best thing I've done in a long time and the most adult thing I've ever done.
14. Bought a timeshare property.
15. Had ganglion cyst surgically removed from my hand because smashing a book on it wasn't working anymore. YouTube it, it's a real thing..
16. Was offer multiple job opportunities at the same time. This is the first time I had options. In new territories, kind of cool, not sure what to do.
17. Got my second tattoo.
18. Doctors finally heard my heart palpitations. EKG shows I have an extra heartbeat. They're thinking "possible anterior infarct". More tests to come.
19. Settled a three years old lawsuit.
20. Wasn't able to ignore my knee anymore and got an MRI. The doc said "it's not normal at all". Got a cortisone injection and gain 20% of pain-free life back. Which is awesome!
21. Upped my survival skills and learned how to scale and gut a fish. It's a lot of work. Gained new appreciation for people who cooks fresh fish.
22. Saved the house from two potential 🔥
23. Ambulance license expired. Kind of sad that chapter is officially closed.... for now.
24. Was definitely not the greatest person to be around. If I was around at all, I was often very cryptic because I couldn't or didn't know how express myself.
25. Humbly grateful for the handful of wonderful souls that showed me kindness, patience, and support. Especially those that didn't judge me.
26. Lots of good food, concerts, museums, and dog petting.
27. Realizing I am an adult-adult even though I don't feel like one at all.
28. Reminisced and sang childhood songs with my god-mom. I need to create and cherish more moments like these.
29. Said goodbye to a really awesome group of people that I ❤ like family.
30. Understanding the need to make better health decisions and challenging myself to make a change. Gonna try a year without drinking.
but mom how will other people know that you, a white Texan, are a Christian
Jesus
I bet those two are couple now..
me too

Taiwan takes historic step toward same-sex marriage legalization
In a landmark ruling on Wednesday, Taiwan’s constitutional court positioned the country to become the first in Asia to recognize same-sex marriages.
Previously, Taiwan’s civil code had stipulated that marriage must be between a man and a woman.
But in a majority opinion, the court ruled that the ban on same-sex unions ran afoul of two articles of the country’s constitution that upholding human dignity and equality in the eyes of the law, according to the Associated Press. Read more (5/24/17)

I love the French! There is a petition in France asking Obama to be their next president in this year’s election. Although it is impossible cause Obama’s not French it’s still awesome. Thanks for making me smile, my French friends!
#NotMyPresident
The electoral college does not vote until December 19th. We have 40 days.
What does this mean?
Right now, the presidential election results are only a PROJECTION of the election outcome. They are PRELIMINARY RESULTS. A candidate still needs to earn 270 electoral votes to win. Hillary Clinton won the popular vote, which means that more than 50% of the voters wanted her for president. The electoral college shouldn’t guarantee an override of the public’s opinion– and it doesn’t have to.
There are 21 states that do NOT restrict which candidate the electors vote for. Out of these 21, Hillary lost the following:
As you can see, these states are worth 166 electoral votes. As it currently stands, Hillary Clinton is projected to receive 232 votes. Trump is projected to win 306. This means that 37 votes need to be taken away from Trump to bring him down to 269. Hillary Clinton needs 38 votes ADDED to win 270. These electoral voters can also abstain, which means that they can refuse to vote for either candidate. If 37 of the voters within these states abstain then no candidate will have reached the required 270. In this case, the vote would be taken to the House.
Trump won Pennsylvania, a state that typically votes blue, by less than 100,000 votes. While it is highly unlikely to get all 20 electoral voters to cross party lines and vote democrat, it also isn’t impossible to convince a few of them to be “faithless electors.” We only need to convince 38 out of the 166. That is 23%. There are SIXTEEN states we need to focus our attention on.
A move like this would be unprecedented. However, as we all saw on November 8th, odds don’t guarantee reality. Trump had a less than 20% chance of winning, yet given the circumstances, enough people came together and made it happen. We can make this happen.
Ask yourself this: What do we have left to lose? We can stay complacent and accept that this country will be run by a racist, sexist, islamophobic, homophobic, ablest bigot, or we can at least try.
How?
SPREAD THE WORD. Trend #NotMyPresident to let people know that we do not accept being led by a man who does not care about our wellbeing. Email your professors, email the dean of your colleges. The last thing a university wants is negative press. Millenials can take a stand, but that doesn’t mean we have to be the only ones. Church-led events helped bring a lot of disillusioned voters to the polls. Spread the word in any way possible, whether it be on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or even in person. Stage a peaceful protest. Hand out flyers. Let the people around you know that you don’t accept this man as your leader when he won’t even accept you as a citizen with your designated rights.
These 166 people need to face the consequences of electing this man.
Do this for the people who couldn’t vote. Do this for the people who live in the very real fear of being deported. Do this for the people who will have to face the rise in hate crimes. Do this for the people who have a very real possibility of losing their rights. Do this for the people who will no longer be able to afford necessities.
