Learning the rules and learning to break them - studies in watercolour
To whom do you worship?
Doesn't she shine so bright?
With the moon watching over me I'll never have a lonely night
I used to make up stories, used to know how to play,
But now it seems my creativity has gone astray,
The words I used to dance with are withered in my head,
I fear my voice has atrophied, I've been using yours instead.
There is a silence choking me, although it isn't mine,
I feel it draping, suffocating, climbing me like a vine,
Turning, searching, desperate for someone who is like me,
All I find are hands too far to hold, and eyes that do not see.
I beg you, give me back my voice, it wasn't yours to take,
You say you didn't steal it, you didn't want it, it was fake,
The theif of my imagination was myself it seems,
I sewed myself into a quilt of other peoples dreams.
For @grundyscribbling - Thanks for reblogging all the water! I'm so glad these little water gifs make you happy! :)

A lonely road at night
Oops, I left the candles on
just in-case anybody else needed to see this beautiful moment in modern history
When I first heard the original version it felt like someone was describing a part of me that I had never been able to put into words on my own. It was the first time I truly felt I wasn't alone.
This version recorded with the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles is beautiful, and I am so proud to be part of such an amazing community, even if I mostly interact with it online.
Every day gets better, everyday I become more myself.

If people were too mean to you when you were growing up, a newborn animal will materialize inside your brain and it’s so so scared and shivering and it will stay there for years. Decades, even. And whenever you say something kind of weird but true to your heart the animal will tell you “Noo! You can’t say that! If you say that, everyone will hate you!”. The animal means well. It’s so so small and everything is so scary for them and it’s just trying to protect you. But listen to me. Listen to me. Whenever this happens, you can’t do what the animal says. You can’t. If you do, you’ll become as scared as the animal. You have to keep saying weird shit. You have to keep doing things the animal wouldn’t approve of. If you do enough things that scare the animal, maybe one day it’ll go to sleep.
It also helps to reassure the animal, and tell it that saying weird shit is ok actually. Tell the animal that it is ok to be scared, but its also important to be brave so that we can find other people who say the same weird shit.
As a former humanities student, I feel it is my duty to reblog this one.
A tech bro tried to convince me AI was amazing cause "you could make 30,000 screenplays in minutes" not realising that every single one would be shit, you'd have to sift through everything just to find some good bits, time wasted that could've been spent just writing a screenplay.
Technology Brothers know nothing about what goes into creating a work, other than the fact a work has been created to be exploited for cash. They see creativity as an investment opportunity, not a love for humanity.
