i wish people started looking at the self shipping/yumeship community as an actual community again and not just a popularity contest. its just people posting something and waiting for the numbers to go up and then getting discouraged when they dont, and while that is 100% a valid feeling that shouldn’t be what you focus on AND you could also solve that if you created/interacted with your community.

i dont think you should only interact with other self shippers to gain something in return, but genuinely if you leave nice comments on other peoples posts, or send them asks about their self ships they are way more likely to do the same for you.

so not only do you get the attention you wanted but now youve built at least a surface level connection to some other people in the community and thats good for all of us. self shipping has just become so individual and i really hope people remember that this community is all about sharing love and/or support with other people. you’re supposed to share your love for your favs but your also supposed to share your love for your community.

anyways yes, go interact with your fellow self shipper, i know its hard to come up with something to say, and its scary because what if they dont like you, but even if it does go wrong i believe you can shake it off and try again and eventually something will stick!

selfshipping is like toy story, I think. whether you separate them from their canon or try to stick close by it, you scoop them up and give them new life by creating new stories with them and in turn they have the wonderful experience of being loved by you and seeing new horizons which makes them more whole. it’s very beautiful
