just because someone can articulate their point better doesn’t make them right, it makes them articulated.
and you aren’t stupid for having trouble articulating yourself.

often you will see things online where you just have to be like "what a strange thing to say" or "i don't think that's true :)" to yourself and try to move on or you will lose your mind
i was tagged in this super cool game by @yellowloid (thank you!) to share some of my favourite books and put them into a poll.

I feel like, as a fandom, we collectively forget about this moment, and I’m here to remind everyone it exists and it happened.
Miles: I LOVE IT
Alex: YOU got old and wrinkled…
Miles: Shavambacuuuuu (🥺)
Alex: *giggles* … I stayed seventeen
Miles: Just youuuuu
Alex: You lusted after so many… *moves right in front of Miles* I stayed here with Wolverine (🥺)
Both: *stare longingly at each other*

Oh, not this guy…….
Long story short, I went on a old literature spree recently and while I was browsing through Barnes and Noble I found this this MF (aka Maurice (a novel) by E M Forster) and proceeded to shed tears for the next few weeks. Then I found that there was a movie, and to add to it, starring 20 year old Hugh Grant.
I guess that was long instead of short 🙃short story long🙃
Someone else please repost and bury this one 👍

If you have Spotify reblog this and tag what your number one song on your “on repeat” playlist is.
i was tagged by my lovely wife @yellowloid (thank you!) in this movie poll game :)
rules: make a poll with 10 of your favourite movies, they can be just 10 movies you loved seeing or your top 10 movies of all time, then tag people and let them choose
i am not a huge movie person really but once i get into one i will watch it on repeat and completely rinse it until it’s dry. and then make sure other people do the same. so here are my 10:
pick your favourite!
pulp fiction
lego batman
borat
american psycho
fight club
the hunger games series (but specifically catching fire)
quadrophenia
the brother’s grimsby
star wars (revenge of the sith)
begin again
i’ve definitely forgotten some but here are my favourites off the top of my head. there is definitely a theme here (i love sacha baron cohen) but some very good movies have been tainted for me for no reasons in particular.
tagging: @rymbrr @kincoo and whoever else sees this who wants to join, consider yourself tagged!

i feel like it’s relatively universal that when you go to a concert you come back pleasantly surprised about one song you didn’t particularly rave about before, but the performance of it just completely changed your mind
with that said here is my take of the (rather few) artists i’ve seen in the last few years:
1. miles kane
seen him thrice, wasn’t originally too big on coup de grace but ever since he POINTED HIS GUITAR AT ME during it i don’t think i’ve ever fully recovered
2. monkeys (yay!)
thought i was too edgy by preferring the b-sides and priding myself on knowing all the lyrics to all the new songs but in the end i moshed to teddy picker the hardest like everyone else
3. blossoms
how long will this last I STAND BY THIS i will forever be a cool like you girl no matter what. all the other songs were good too but when i heard this i pissed and shit and cried everywhere
4. kaiser chiefs
namely this specific song only because england won the semis halfway through the song. top g ricky wilson played it off like a champ though. never miss a beat (the irony) took the crown for me that day
5. kasabian
it takes a LOT for me to say this was the best gig i’ve ever been to as monkeys will forever be my number 1, but oh my GOD the sheer atmosphere of vlad the impaler actually killed me and i would do it again and again and again and i dont think i could ever get sick of it. sergio if you see this i love you call me
6. the lathums
i am quite literally writing this post during a) my comedown and b) a raging hangover from the aftermath of this gig, but nevertheless for a band i don’t really know as well as i did the others, circles of faith took the crown for this. wasn’t keen before, absolutely love it now. on repeat on the way back.
okay i think long enough has passed that i can safely add a few more to this post with the concerts i’ve been to since, so here’s my updated list of performed songs that i came away loving more than ever:
7. catfish and the bottlemen
as i mentioned in the tags on my og post, i did end up seeing them shortly after. honestly their whole set blew me away and and it was actually magical. still not super into how they’ve been moving lately but just seeing them satisfied my inner 14 year old. rango takes the crown for me on this day.
8. inhaler
i love this band. i’ve only ever seen them as support acts twice but each time they deliver. i do hope to see them as a headliner with their full set one day, but i’ll let them rest for now lol. i can’t say there’s one specific song i love now more than the rest after seeing them because i love all their songs equally, but they brought a lot of energy out for your house that i really loved.
9. wunderhorse
i actually saw these guys at a festival and they quickly became one of my favourite bands of all time. at the time i’d been listening a lot but only for a couple weeks prior to seeing them (yes i was very late to the hype, lol) so i didn’t get to fully appreciate them at their peak before they inevitably start cutting cub songs (sigh). saying that, i was never a big midas fan to begin with, but i came away with a love for silver that i’d never had before.
10. oasis
honestly top 10 experiences of my life. not only did i get paid for bartending both heaton park dates, but i got to see their full performance in the crowd and it was genuinely magical. i’ve always 100% been a masterplan enjoyer since i was a kid, but my streams of rock and roll star skyrocketed straight after that weekend.
11. james marriott
yes! can you tell where my newfound obsession came from? i’ve been watching his videos since prime george memeulous days, will n jim watch, 3boys, all that good stuff. never gave his music a chance until now. and BOY has this guy evolved since i first heard slow down. don’t tell the dog is a MASTERPIECE of a pop album, and i absolutely adore him and his work. particularly enjoyed don’t blame me on the day, as i’d never really thought of it much as one of his big singles until the crowd really hammered the chorus home. peak lyricism.
12. two door cinema club
i am only really a tourist history merchant, i hate to admit, but i could absolutely not pass up on the opportunity to see them with the incredible lineup of supports they had at crystal palace. cigarettes in the theatre was a crowd favourite, and to hear it live with so much energy from everyone around me was biblical. the amount of times i heard “this was on fifa” (and also said it myself) probably rivals the amount of times i was hit by the inflatable floating around at the front.
i’m going to leave it at that for now, there are a few more mainstream artists that i’ve seen that i haven’t included, because i thought i’d stick to the running theme of my blog with the uk indie rock/pop scene. (though if you’d like to see those please let me know lol)
as ever i would love to hear your takes on this little post, or if you have any experiences of your own that you’d like to share please tag me 🫶

where has everyone gone?
hello. as you may or may not have noticed i have not been posting or writing fics because.
thanks for understanding 🫰
i wake up. i open tumblr. my dash is full of people calling louise beards and saying she’s only with alex as a pr stunt to cover up his gay relationship with miles. i sigh. i close the app.
i think about this video everyday
