Throwing rocks at the wall. Drumming his fingers against his knee almost constantly now. Starting to get a little panicky.
Axis smiled all the same. Good. If that Tyran Optimus returned and was angry, there was no way Blurr could fight him off. He’d be dead before he could try. Axis nodded his helm and lifted the datapad again. He held it up so Blaster could see, making sure this message in particular was blocked from views of cameras.
If you can get his attention, do it. The sooner Blurr goes down, the sooner we get our lives back.
And to think, Axis was one of the mechs that Blurr risked his life to save in the past. He didn’t think of that, however. He could only think of the monster that Blurr was now. He nodded once more.
I will work on getting those fixed. Let me talk to Blurr. And with that, he began to leave the brig area.
His optics passed over the message, then a second time. He glanced up at Axis with a slight shake of his helm; he couldn't right now. Not only was he deaf, he was most definitely blocked on all fronts. But he needed to say something. Another small lie to put his other off the scent of anything suspicious.
"Nnnah...I can wwait. Be-eeen deaf before. Don-n't gotta worryyyy 'bout me goin' cray." He'd need time. Time to work around the blocks, set up a connection back to his world, find a way to get a message off-world to Prime...it was a weighty challenge. Blaster smiled slightly, a wry expression that hinted at how much he was going to enjoy it.
The last message forced a grin out of him and he offered Axis a thumbs up. The grin shook a little as he spoke his next lie. "S'all good. Ta-aaake y'time. I ain't in a rushhh. Gettin' ro-oom service is sssweet."
He wanted to hear. He wanted out of the cell. He wanted to have a way to watch time march forward. Anything that wasn't this ugly, silent world in the dark watching mechs walk away from him. "S-See y'around, Axis." Still. He would manage. He always had.
In fact, Axis did know how to cover his tracks. He may have failed his final in languages, but he knew how to be a spy. He’d spent a long time doing it. He tapped the datapad, wiping the history every few seconds. He held it up again after typing the new message. He knew the other Blaster might listen, but the mech couldn’t hook up to his personal datapad.
Don’t be. As for your audios, I’ll try to find you something. He glanced towards the door of the brig, optics bright. He turned back to Blaster and made a quick motion as if to say he needed to be going. He nodded and waved to someone at the door before turning back to Blaster. Again, he typed.
Nice meeting you. One question: Your Prime. Would he kill Blurr if he found all this out? It wasn’t a question of would he, it was how soon could he do it. I’ll see what I can do about audios. But, answer me that first.
"Gggood behavior brrr-rings back th'sssound. I know." It was a hidden thank you and Blaster tossed Axis a heavy look. Don't risk too much, was the silent message and he drummed his fingers against a bar slowly. Last thing he wanted was Axis to go down for the count when he was the only back-up Blaster had. "Thanks annnyway. S-Sss'important."
He carefully considered the last question. Would he? Very slowly, as if hesitating on the answer, he nodded. "Angrr-r-y before take off. No warrr, but nnno negotiate. Wa-ant us home an' the--em out. Dyyy-ing out. Prot-tective." He wasn't sure how best to convey the complexity that was Optimus and his reactions to Blurr's audacity, especially without giving it all away. But hopefully the scraps he offered were better than nothing.
Axis was hardly dangling bait. Even he was smart enough to know that Blurr had broken him down. The more time he spent with him, however, the more he grew angry again. Blurr was disconnected from reality. To the point where he might completely disengage from it- if pushed hard enough. Axis just needed to find that small crack in the system. Until then, he was the traitor gone loyal.
Axis. I you play this right, I might be your friend. He pulled the datapad back again and typed again. He held it up again. Behaving will only get you so far. Suck up. He’ll believe you eventually. And then? That’s when you stab him in the back. That was what Axis wanted to type, but he didn’t. He smiled slowly, motioning to the datapad.
You want your freedom back? You want my help.
Blaster stayed silent throughout the whole written diatribe, processor idly hoping that this mech knew how to delete every trace of his words. Hopefully he was as good of an actor as he implied. He shook his head slightly at the mention of sucking up, glancing around the cell before he responded cautiously.
"Blllurr damaged m-ee. N-Nnnever been on gooood terms. Sssuspicious." He jerks his helm at the words specifically. He knew that somewhere in this base, his rat of an alternate had to be listening. Someone somewhere, at least. He hoped Axis could understand what he meant with the few words he was using. One of his audios stirred, wiggling slightly before the pain stemmed the automatic motion.
"Nice to m-m-mmmeet you, Axis..." His optics brightened a bit and he offered the mech a small, genuine smile. "Wwant to hear again." A small gamble, one Axis would hopefully pick up on.
Ow! That hurt his helm. He scowled and turned around, heading towards the bars once again. Speak slow or type, huh? Axis pulled out a datapad and typed the words on the screen. He held it up and shoved it against the bars. The text read: Do that again and I’ll tell Blurr you haven’t been behaving. You should be grateful. You’re not the only actor here.
He pulled the datapad away with a scowl. “I won’t wast my time down here anymore.”
His point made, Blaster was content to settle down and lean against the bars once more. The datapad presented caught his attention and he reset them, optics scanning the words hungrily. He glanced up at Axis with a critical gaze and shrugged his shoulder, a minute gesture no one would notice or think particularly out of place. He couldn't trust this yet. Blurr was tricky, might be dangling bait.
"Blllurr said behave. Nnn-never said I nnneeded to be nice." He leaned his helm against the bars as Axis disengaged. More words that he couldn't hear buzzing somewhere above him. "Haven't done anythinnnn'. Name?" He was curious and he tilted just enough to lock his optics back onto the stranger. Axis already rang with the tone of someone broken down, but...an ally unwilling to act was better than a spy in the fold. Especially when a blind optic could do Blaster worlds of good.
"Not really," Axis replied, looking almost bored. He shrugged his shoulders and moved towards the door of the brig. He turned, leaning against the crusted energon along the bars. "Just to let you know, you guys gave up way more than a planet and your army." He gave a smug smile.
"See you later. Autobot."
His optics narrowed again. The gag of a mech speaking to the deaf was beginning to grow a little old. Try as he might, he still was having difficulty reading what was being said. Not enough words for a proper gist either. Just "gave up". Blaster downed the rest of his cube and, with all the training of an annoyed sniper, threw the empty through the bars at Axis' head.
"Can't. Hear. Yyyou." He glared sharply after his small assault. Blurr said behave. Not that he had to be an angel. "Sssspeak slower or ty-yyype."
"Boo hoo."
Clearly, Axis didn’t care about Blaster’s state. He flicked his servo in a flippant wave. Blaster was a prisoner first and a loyal officer second. The loyalty was questionable. In the end, Blurr would most likely break him like he broke Axis. The former Decepticon spy frowned, helm tilting to the side. Blaster was hardly a catch, but maybe this would work in his favor.
"Well, eat your food then. You can’t do much else."
Blaster stared at him. There was something incredibly ridiculous about a mech who continued to talk when his conversation partner was unable to hear. A quiet snort escaped him, the phantom of a smile rising on his faceplates, and he reached to snag the first cube. He was snickering shortly after, hiding the mirth in the crack of the cube as he drank. He didn't want to explain what was so funny to this stranger.
A couple swallows later and he started absently tapping on the cube surface, the vibrations against lip components helping keep his nausea at bay. Still drinking, he glanced back up at Axis. Why was he still here? Had he been speaking? He raised an optical ridge in the other mech's direction, humming an off-tone noise. "Need sssss-some-thiiing?"
"Hey, you. Stop making so much noise," Axis grumbled, making his way through the hall. He slid two cubes of energon into the cell and examined the prisoner in question. "Can’t believe Blurr took over a universe. You guys are idiots.”
"There’s your energon. I would have put poison in it, but I really have nothing to gain from your death. Just do whatever with it." Clearly, Axis has no intention of being nice to Blaster. Not yet, anyway.
Blaster barely noticed anyone approaching until the last second, vibrating under his legs alerting him only seconds before Axis entered the hall. His tanks churned nauseously. Wrong. Should've heard him five minutes ago when he drew the cubes... Then he squinted. This mech was unrecognizable. No voice to identify either now...but his face, his frame, his color...unknown. No name and...his optics narrowed a fraction further. And of course, the mystery aft was talking.
He leaned forward and scooted the cubes away from the bars, optics still locked on those lips flapping. Too fast, too unfamiliar. He didn't know how the sounds were supposed to match this face. A couple words siphoned through. Idiots, poison, whatever. Blurr. Blaster huffed and pointed at his audios, croaking out on his still-damaged vocalizer.
"D-Deeeeaf, aftfffface."
Drumming fingers against the bars every so often. He's tied off a few lines in his arms and he's starting to starve for sounds. So vibrations it is.

Blurr turned his helm in Blaster’s direction. A welder? His derma twisted upwards into a sickening smirk. He lifted his claws, signing back the simplest answer possible. [ When you behave. Until then, you learn. ] He turned towards Oberyn and waved his claw. [ Learn to be submissive to our Master. It will help you in the long run. ]
Which was true. The more loyal a bot was, the more Optimus tended to appreciate them. Then again, Blurr didn’t exactly trust Blaster to be perfectly loyal. Not yet, anyway. He wiggled his claws in a farewell wave and moved towards the exit.
That was...annoying. Very annoying. So supremely annoying, Blaster couldn't hope to sign or verbalize. Externally, his leg gave a little twitch, face stony.
[Can't get into much trouble in a cell.] Which was only half a lie. He was sure, if needed, he could manage a decently sized chunk of trouble. But he was to be the good bot and waved Blurr on, indicating that he understood. [Good day.]

Blurr continued to snicker, lifting his claws. The blue liquid sliding down each digit was completely visible now. He leaned forward, dragging his glossa up the metal. He curled the tip, scooping up every last drop. His frame shuddered as he cackled louder. "Tastes like a surrendering Autobot to me!!" Oberyn moved to stand, walking around Blurr a few times, glaring at Blaster each time their optics met.
[ Much better. ] He leaned forward, tapping his claws against the bars. Then, he dragged his claw along his frame. After gathering a good amount, he smeared it across the bars. [ Little present. Might keep you company. ] He snapped his digits. Oberyn quickly moved forward, heading out of the brig area. Blurr pointed at Blaster, smirking as he savored the taste of the energon now in his systems.
[ You can come out when you learn to behave. ]
Blaster forced back the grimace and kept is face clear, trying not to remember exactly who's energon it was that Blurr was lapping down like a dog. He couldn't read all of the sentence on Blurr's lips, but the gist was well-taken. Another smug blow in regards to their so-called surrender. He huffed out his nasal as the grim reminder was smeared all over his bars; he refused to look away. No sign of weakness, Blaster reaffirmed. No sign of weakness and maybe, he'd have a chance to get out of this relatively intact.
He didn't respond to Blurr's taunts, merely eyeing his captor as the signs kept coming. Finally, he nodded, flashing a swift [Ok] in Blurr's direction. He held up a finger, asking Blurr for an extra moment of time before he could turn.
"...wel-elllllder?"

Oberyn was glad to see Blurr. It was the times when his dear owner came back leaking energon that he worried the most. Blurr was a sturdy mech and always ensured his return, but Oberyn got lonely when he wasn’t there. He truly was attached to the mech, that was for sure.
Blurr stared at Blaster as though he’d asked for the moon on a silver platter. He began to laugh, cackling wildly to the ceiling. Oberyn nudged against the purple speedster, bringing him back down to reality. Blurr smirked and scratched along his lower jaw once more. He signed back to Blaster with a glint in his optic and a flowing snicker.
[ Have you learned to behave? ]
For a brief moment, Blaster was grateful that he was deaf. The last thing he wanted to hear was that laugh after he'd caught sight of that energon. Sideswipe's for sure, maybe Sunstreaker. There was no one else that could have bled and left Blurr in such a good mood. He tossed his helm and raised an optical ridge. Even then, his tanks flopped, their contents churning as he felt the faintest of vibrations in the air. Even deaf, that laugh was determined to make him miserable.
[I know this hurts. Badly. I know everything hurts.] His expression remained stony. [But I was ordered to cooperate. Dim's order benefits your...] He paused, as if thinking of a good way to sign what was to follow. [...Our. Leader.] He knew it was a lie. Blurr knew it was a farce. But the chip to his ego was real enough and Blaster knew how these things went. Lies went on long enough and became reality, something Blurr was likely counting on to happen. All he needed was the superior endurance.

Oberyn continued to pace, yellow optics flicking in Blaster’s direction now and again. The giant monster wasn’t stupid. He knew Blaster wouldn’t run, but he might be planning to when he was stronger. Blurr had made that clear in his commands. His audials perked up and he immediately sat down, tail swiping along the ground. It didn’t take long to figure out why.
Blurr soon walked back, lifting his claws to run along the mech’s spiking body. At first, he seemed just as he was when he left. But, closer inspection would show that his claws and frame were covered in bright blue smears, a print running along his left arm guard. He turned to Blaster and lifted a claw to sign, a smug, twisted grin on his face.
[ Now you all belong to my Master. ]
Run? How silly. Blaster never ran. He climbed. Climbed until he could soar. He kept the thoughts in his head as he worked to tie off the painful break. Anything to help himself. The flutter of motion caught his optic and he glanced up form his arm. Oberyn was sitting? Someone was coming. Blurr. Maybe that Optimus. Someone the creature deferred to, which Blaster doubted would be a high number.
True to his guess, it was Blurr he watched stride into the cell and it was Blurr's arm he saw first. Out of place, bright blue. His face didn't twitch, set into the same pained grimace Blurr had walked in on. As far as his captor was concerned, he hadn't noticed a thing, except for the signing. Finally removing his own blue-stained fingers from his shoulder, he offered Blurr a thumbs up before slowly signing back.
[Ok. Welder, maybe?]

Oberyn growled, understanding the insult. He slammed his tail against the bars harder, snarling at the prisoner. Blurr had given him strict orders. Don’t let Blaster leave. The audio bot wasn’t allowed out until he learned to behave and that he could be trusted. What Blurr needed was the surrender of the current leader, not the word of Blaster. Oberyn didn’t understand all of that, only that he had to keep watch on Blaster.
His head tilted side to side, audios flicking back and forth. He slowly turned away from the bars, pacing once more. He wanted Blurr to come back already. He didn’t like Blaster. Not one bit.
There was that vibration again. For the brief moment that it rang, he let his optics offline. If he concentrated, he could almost hear it again, almost hear the tone of the bars and the rattling reverb of plating on solid, thick barricade. Then it was gone, the vibrations dwindling, and his optics burned back online again.
Glancing back at his shoulder, he sighed and bit down on his cheek, reaching into the gaping section to pinch shut a line he'd jostled loose. "Khhhk..." Sideswipe had ordered to cooperate. He hadn't said to lay and rot in a cell. Even lacking tools, he'd figure something out.

Oberyn’s optics narrowed, jaws snapping together as he stared the audio bot down. So long as he was watching him, Oberyn was going to make sure he didn’t go anywhere. At the question of a welder, the dire wolf growled and began to pace. He wanted Blaster to try and break out. He wanted him to make a run for it.
He wanted to chew the scrap out of him. So, he paced, growling and glaring with each strut. His tail slammed against the bars, as if warning Blaster that asking for things was not wise.
Blaster nearly sagged in relief; he could feel the vibrations caused by Oberyn's tail near his arm. It wasn't sound, but it was close. Just enough to be soothing and he offered the creature a wry smile. "Tha---at a nnno? A'ight." He downed the remainder of the cube with a hard gulp and tilted his gaze away from Oberyn, examining the gaping damage to his shoulder.
Clotted, mostly. A few oozing places, a lot of jaggedly sliced wires and cables. He couldn't fix...well, any of this, technically. But he could jury-rig some pieces back into something functional. Maybe. If he had a welder. Huffing out through his nasal, he grit his dentae and picked up his wrist from the floor, shifting the limb into a better position for him to examine the damage. Old agony bloomed and burnt into his processor and he ground down, optics flickering back towards Oberyn when he was done. "T-Tellll Blurrr...s'fraggin' hurts. Th'di---ick."
