gahhh ive had this ask forEVERRR and i still dont really know what else to do with the concept despite the fact i want to... here's a loose idea i had tho.. not about laywright really but moreso about genderqueer labyrinthia layton.
so maybe how she and luke get reminded of themselves is through a trial. the professor is accused of being a witch! and the way to prove her innocence is to prove she's a man. because men can't be witches.
eventually someone asks him why he's still wearing girl clothes despite the fact he's a guy and he has to admit that he doesn't have men's clothing back at home. and everytime he tries to purchase some, he's turned away because he's a woman.
so maya suggests phoenix help get him some clothes, and they bond :)
yay! hershel feels like himself again.
buuut... well. he's not a guy ALL the time... eventually he finds himself feeling rather... strangely... whenever someone brings up his gender.
she doesn't know what the feeling is yet, but she's getting dysphoric.
she's probably genderqueer but she's got a mystery to solve so she doesnt really care about that rn lol /ref
