There's something very suspicious about this crowdfunded retro games console named after the Colecovision.
This is one of the weirdest and most hilariously drama-laden stories Iāve ever written about. Please enjoy a twisting, turning saga of trying to crowdfund a collector console in the worst imaginable ways.
This reads like a fucking ed edd and eddy episode

This is literally one of the best things on the site
no it isn't, it's just a big link to reddit
mom: hey *dadās name* oh whoops i mean *brotherās name* oh no *sisterās name* i mean *name of the family goldfish* ah shoot i meant *your name* can you get down here really quick i need something
my dad has literally called me by his own name.Ā
My mom calls me by our dogās name.
my dad calls us peter and the only peter in the family ever, has probably been dead for 50 years.
Iām apparently unable to keep things short, Iām sorry. Here, have some stupid faces.
After crushing the hopes and dreams of one gleeful giant robot, our true protagonist rushes forth to claim his prize in the name of justice or some crap, and meets new friends along the wayā¦
I installed this little fucker on every computer I could get my hands on when I was a kid. I loved him. He told jokes, sang songs, and heād read anything you wanted him to out loud with his robot voice.
Every once in a while, heād ask to be sent to some kind of jungle school where he could learn new jokes and songs, but it cost real money, and I wouldnāt have dared to ask my mom for virtual monkey jungle school tuition. She hated him from day one. I donāt know why. Heād just pop up and try to sing to her when she was reading her Christian Evangelist chain mail in Outlook.
Turns out, he was adware all along, and was apparently selling my web browsing info to shady companies in secret. He eventually got caught, and I think they euthanized him. He never really loved me, I know. But I still love him. If I knew anything about programming, Iād resurrect him somehow without the spyware. He could be rehabilitated. I know he could.
Some info sheets Iāll be printing up for a ska event Iām doing tomorrow. Had to simplify some things for space and clarity, but I wanted to post here to get a bit of feedback before I print them tomorrow morning. Any thoughts?
Alright, hereās a few thoughts:
First of all if possible give some more space between the titles and the paragraphs of information, also indent the first line of information on the paragraphs. Increased leading here will give the eye a place to breath but also make the information easier to find. This will help increase legibility along with breaking up the information a bit more.
If youāre worried about space remember most typefaces print out at legible sizes at size 10 (unless itās gotham then you can go down to size 7 and itās still good like damn gotham you so good) And you donāt need to go over size 18 for a title most of the time. Just bold the type if youāre worried about āSpaceā but at the same time WHITE SPACE IS YOUR FRIEND.
Keep like information at the same size. so on the second pages of each spready have the band names at the same size. Donāt just fill up space for the sake of filling up space. If you want band names to be a bit bigger than let them be bigger to separate them from bullet points. Just take away a few of the third wave ska bands. Try limiting yourself to 10-12 bands for each wave youāre discussing. Yeah youāll have to cut out some bands but thereās an argument that Operation Ivy is a better explanation fo Ska Punkās rise than to present Third Wave, despite the fact that they influenced a lot of those bands.Ā You donāt want to overdose the audience with a lot of suggestions at first no matter HOW GOOD those bands are because this is supposed to be a taste tense. Fuck if you just do 10 for each thatās 30 bands. If you did 5 for each and just explained one thing about them youād probably end up with more success.
The other thing you might want to do for clarity is italicize the dates, itās the same size as the body copy so this way youāre separating information. Some of the information seems a little off, like I donāt think third wave started because the toasters ābrought itāĀ cause The Uptones started the same year in California. Even then Third Wave was a huge reaction to the 80ās after 2-Tone that grew and developed. People are more familiar with the Third Wave sounds of the 90ās than that of the 80ās. If I play a little Common Rider no oneās going to go āyeah thatās like what I heard on the radio.ā
Thereās also a lot of typing errors, space things. You donāt end the third wave bands with a comma, the last band should have an and before it. Stuff like that. Basic editing.
Hope that helps!

Guys, remember the SpeedTree interview, akaĀ the most momentous occasion in GB history?
Oh my GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! I forgot this even existed!

i get the impression that barely anyone else at the trade show was anywhere near as excited about speedtree as they were

The public outpour of emotion over the death of Ryan Davis has been at onceĀ upliftingĀ and devastating; amazing to see how many lives he touched but equally tragic the scope of loss. There has been a lot said, and much of it by better writers and closer friends - so I wonāt go on.
What I will do though is finish the drawing he kept asking me to do. Sorry itās so late.
RIP, buddy.Ā
