“So you found your way back? Good. I’m glad everyone is finding their way back from wherever the hell they ended up,” Bonnie admitted, taking a deep breath. “Can I ask… Where did you go? When death or whatever took all the dead back. Where you with everyone else or alone?”

“yeah, i did, but i do not know how? heard rumors there were two who managed to bring people back” nothing more had he heard. joey bit on the inside of his cheek, his eyebrows raised when she asked about where he went “you mean when some of us were dead? i was somewhere there they had  karaoke, listened to my older brother sing. i don’t think other people there liked to hear kai sing. i tried to use magic to make ‘em like it, but didn’t work.” he nodded “when we were brought back i was alone, had to walk out from there, my ears were almost bleeding” he joked a bit.

♊ ― “what good is a little brother if he’s not hyping up the crowd for me.” he is unfazed by the sight of joey. they were dead, after all. right where they both belonged. “am i supposed to do all the work myself?” he sipped his stolen drink. “is that a request?  i can go back up there.” for anyone unaccustomed to that brand of torture, that would’ve come off as a threat. “it was the perfect song.” 

he started to laugh. was it a joke? a bad one if it was “give me one good reason why i should?”  joey wasn’t going to forgive him so easily, and would not do anything until he got a good reason why. did not matter if they were both dead “alright? and maybe can i tell these dead people to give you money for your performing and force them to like it. by the way, have you tried if our magic works here? try modern songs? heard people listen to it the short time i was alive again” he knew of a spell that might work.

♊ ― After he was booed off the stage, Kai stepped down and back to the bar, unfazed. “Tough crowd tonight,” he mused aloud, as if he hadn’t purposefully performed in any such a way that would cause a spectacle. “Thank you.” He said to the patron as he swiped their drink for himself ― flashing them a devilish, yet goofy, grin as he took the first sip.

the moment the older parker sibling stepped down from the stage, the younger could not help to throw out a comment “you have never failed to find ways to entertain a crowd. just sad, they did not seem to be entertained tonight. must suck” he watched every move kai made “perhaps if you had choose another song, it could have been better, maybe”

“are we....” there was a pause as the young man looked around with a confused look on his face. he looked back at the brunette woman “we are not dead again are we? or i mean me, i don’t know if you are dead, because i have no freaking idea what is real anymore”

“In New Orleans?” Lizzie asked, looking towards the young man who spoke. “Yeah, it’s almost always this bustling. Apart from all the tourists you have the locals who are always out and about. This is by no means a sleepy city.” 

“yeah” he nodded, looked over at the blonde “do they dare to come to visit when they might know anything about the city? the dark secrets” not that he knew nothing either, he thought about the vampires. but perhaps it was not something anyone worried about, only him who was not used to all the creatures in the world “i thought portland was big”

“Maybe. But every bachelorette party I have been a part of or seen hasn’t dressed like that. But maybe we were the weird ones,” she joked, shaking her head. “Yup. I had to live in a prison world with Kai, where he shot me with an arrow and stabbed me before he got out. Then he just constantly hurt my friends and I. Until we killed him. Several times. And put him in another prison world. Then killed him again,” Bonnie said honestly. “You too.”

“then everything’s different. maybe, who knows” the parker witch shrugged. a brow raised to what she said about his older brother “oh? he survived, i see. a prison world? last time i heard of them was one back in 1903, didn’t believe the stories were real. i can’t understand why they decided to send him to one, they could just have tried to end his life instead, especially more so after what he did to me and his other siblings” but their father did stupid decisions, then somehow managed to get the whole coven with him, or that’s how joey had always seen it “i am not surprised he did, sorry that happened to you. did he do it for no reason?” his eyes rolled as she continued to speak “i wonder what turned him that way, if it could have been the whole coven or just father who seemed to hate him, but he barely liked any of his kids, probably olivia, lucas and josette. not me so much, i was mostly out all the time to avoid the family dramas and i didn’t turn out to be a murderous psychopath just because our parents didn’t give us enough love” he never got the chance to talk about these things, not on a long time at least. joey had his best friend, a human, who he could talk about these things with, but he was probably gone now or old “to be honest do i not think death will ever stop him, he might find a way to come back every time. i probably shouldn’t talk this much about my family to someone i do not know, it just feels normal? because you know who kai is and how he can be.” he shook his head. was probably not interesting either. who wanted to hear about a family that he thought was one of the worst families to exist in the world?

“I guess so. It’s just not something I’ve seen around New Orleans before. Aside from Mardi Gras,” she admitted. There had been some crazy stuff then, but on a random Tuesday? Not so much. “Parker? Any relation to the Gemini Parkers?” she asked, arching a brow. It shouldn’t be surprising, given Liv and Luke were back. Could the rest of the siblings Kai murdered be back too? “Bonnie Bennett.”

“mhm okay. perhaps they had a party, someone getting married? i have seen it before, people dress weird for it when they are out with their friends before the big day, just not like that” he saw it one time, didn’t matter “yes?” he questioned, arms folded over his chest “do you know of them? or perhaps you have seen the news paper from 1994, huh? if it’s still possible. do not tell me you know my older brother kai? not surprised if that asshole survived” he had always hoped jo would win the merge, but he was not hundred percent certain she would “nice to meet you, bonnie”

Luke shook his head. “No, no I’m not from here.” He didn’t really know why he had walked in the direction of the cemetery, it was like something told him to keep walking this way. “Just out for a late night walk.”

“i see. neither am i, i’m from portland, oregon, don’t remember how i ended up here” joey shrugged, pointed towards the cemetery “it may sound weird, gut i felt drawn to this place” it was nothing wrong with, he had spent half of his life here, his adult life “night walker, huh?” he chuckled “it’s pretty nice to be out at this hour, no other sounds than perhaps the birds or an owl”

“I mean, I’ll admit to wearing some questionable things before. And there was my short stint as a stripper where I wore very similar stuff. But I never walked around in broad daylight in it. It was more like, night time club stuff,” she admitted, not at all ashamed to mention those sorts of things from her past. She looked back over at him. “Well, you are a guy. At least I am assuming. Most men I have met don’t put a ton of thought into their wardrobe,” she said honestly, shaking her head. “Thank you for reassuring me about my age,” she joked.

joey looked down when she talked, a chuckle left his lips, glanced up a brief second later “ah okay, i see. yeah no, that’s maybe not good, but everyone seem to dress however they want in this century” it wasn’t much difference from the 80s and 90s “i guess you are right. some men in the 80s focused much on it” he was not one of them “uh, you are welcome, i guess. i’m joseph parker” he probably didn’t have to introduce his full name, but he didn’t know how people did that nowadays “or just joey for short”

♊ ― the first thought that came to mind was just how long it’d been. the memory of their final moments together, along with that entire night, were the only things that truly kept the siphon company all those years in nineteen-ninety-four. so this was a welcomed sight; a positive association. two separate eras where things were so much simpler. when they were good, and when they were dead. “hey, joey,” he cooed. sounding like he once did, before everything was brought to ruin. not regretting what he did, and finding joy in seeing his brother again, could and did co-exist in kai’s mind. even as he is stared through with murderous hatred, he smiled. “of course i remember my baby bro.” 

so he remembered him, and he had not aged at all. the only difference he could notice was that he wasn’t only a siphon witch anymore, he could not tell what it was. it had gone over thirty years now, but everything was still fresh in his mind “really? don’t call me that” he frowned. a brother did not do what he did, no matter how a family treated him. joey thought it could end in another way, even though talking to the parker family could be difficult sometimes, especially their father “what did i do to you?” he had wanted to ask that question on the last day he lived, but it was too late then “if i have done anything or said anything that hurt your feelings, then am i sorry, but i guess i shouldn’t be because what you did might be impossible to forgive.” perhaps one day could he forgive him, it would depend on if there was a reason behind it "i just want to know the truth"

“Okay, I know the weather is finally getting nicer again, but I don’t think it is nice enough to be wearing what I am pretty sure is lingerie,” Bonnie stated, nodding across the street where someone was strutting their stuff in something that almost made her wonder why they didn’t just go fully naked. There wasn’t really much on them. “Did that just make me sound as old as I think it did?”

joey bit on the inside of his cheek and chuckled at what she said “guess so, it looks like it might be, but maybe it’s popular now” what did he know, he was not used to this fashion “i have no idea, you are asking the wrong person. i don’t know anything about this new trends or anything about clothes. i have always just put on whatever i had in my closet, sometimes stole shirts from my brothers. by the way, it didn't make you sound old, nor do you look like you are”

the parker witch stood near the windows inside of rousseau's, looked out at all the people “is it always crowded on the streets?” he asked whoever was near by “never seen so many people in my whole life. my family was pretty big and the people we knew, but this city is... seems to be more people here”

joey stood leaned against a car, not caring who owned it. when he saw someone walk by, he looked up “hello” he said “didn’t expect anyone to be out this late near a cemetery. you visiting family there?”

haven was just sitting at her favorite cafe with her laptop out, trying to get her creative writing assignment finished. though, she was having a terrible bout of writers block. she looked up, surprised, when a guy about her age came around asking about what year it was. “uhm, hi. it’s fine. i was stuck anyways,” she admitted softly. “ah. well, we’re in new orleans and it’s ____. are you okay? did someone give you something?” she asked, worriedly. 

joey looked at her with a puzzled expression “new orleans? oh” last memory he had, he was in portland. her question made him more confused. given him what? “given me something? like what...” he understood it must be strange that someone asked what year it was, but he didn’t like to not know anything "haven't eaten or drank anything if that's what you refer to, nor have i met anyone that would have been able to give me something, unless the air is toxic, but then you'd probably be affected too"

joey thought he hallucinated, stopped to walk and stared at the person he spotted among the crowd. he started to panic, wondering if he should go up to the brother who had taken his life and three of their other siblings, probably the little twins too, he was not there anymore on that day to see what happened to the rest of their family “you” he mumbled after he had walked up to kai “well, look who is here, just the person i wanted to see. hello malachai, remember me?” he was angry for what he had done and did not care what the heretic thought of his full name. joey did not like his full name either, he thought their parents came up with the worst names for their children. he did not stop to stare at kai, his eyes slowly started to change color to black. the younger parker knew he may not be able to get his revenge, but he just wanted answers. it would maybe help him to move on from his anger.

was this the other side he had never seen before? nah, it couldn’t be. that would he have noticed earlier. it scared him to be around these many people again, they were everywhere. he had no idea where to begin, or who to ask where he was. after walking around what felt like several hours, he found a person he could ask all of these questions he had “hello! first i must apologize if i am disturbing you” he started, quickly had to look behind his back when he heard a sound and jumped a little “yes, i am wondering where we are and what year it is” he continued, turned around to face the woman again.
