Joker (2019) | Dir: Todd Phillips
despite what capitalist society tells us, success is so much more than financial & academic. success is helping people. success is making people happy. success is going to bed with a smile on your face. success is love. success is the bonds we form with other people. there is so much more succeeding than money and academia. you’re not a failure just because you don’t make six figures or have a degree from harvard or oxford. there is so much more to life than what we are told.
“There now seems to be a groundswell of anti-rich sentiment in the city. It’s almost as if our less fortunate residents are taking the side of the killer.”
Joker (2019) | Dir: Todd Phillips
Whoever was filming this from the sidelines deserves a big, fat kiss because this is one of the sexiest things I’ve ever seen.
reblog this if you are gay, constantly tired, or a cryptic entity that merely inhabits a human form
but see, nobody has a single, original, essential identity, we all just make it up. everyone recreates themselves as their circumstances change, everyone absorbs elements from others, everyone projects a false face because there is no true face. when your parents named you, they knew nothing about who you’d turn out to be. every atom of you gets replaced multiple times along the way, but somehow there you are, still pretending to be that person with that name. so really, aren’t we all impostors here? no wait get away from the airlock eject button i’m not finished yet
We love films because they makes us feel something. They speak to our desires, which are never small. They allow us to escape and to dream and to gaze into the eyes that are impossibly beautiful and huge. They fill us with longing. But also, they tell us to remember; they remind us of life.
