'Memorial Day Show' (DJ set)

I will be DJing on Memorial Day (Monday, May 30) at The Lot Radio, 17 Nassau Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222, from 4–6 p.m. You can listen at thelotradio.com or in person. The venue is an outdoor space accessible to the public every day where you can buy coffee, beer, wine, and snacks. There are plenty of tables and chairs, and an awning to sit in the shade. The state-of-the-art DJ booth is housed in a reclaimed shipping container. The show will be broadcast in high-definition video and sound.

For this photo, I am wearing a black Hanes tee; vintage Craftsman work jeans from an extant Sears in Ocean County; and a portamantas from Versailles, The World's Most Famous Cuban Restaurant®, located in Miami.

When I first saw this Agnes de Garron hat, I felt an air of innocence. Blue and red hearken to my earliest childhood days—my mom combining these colors in her outfits, me noticing the colors around my baby carriage…primaries in combination.

To me, this look gives a Charlie Brown vibe… The fuzziness is comforting, like a blanket.

Moss is one of my favorite things in the world. Whenever there is a large patch, like in a forest or park, I carefully position myself so as not to disturb its soft surface, lie down, and fall asleep… This Agnes de Garron hat evokes the beauty of moss on fertile ground…one with our beautiful Planet Earth, making its transition into the fourth-density vibration.

I remember after my baptism in a tub in the forest, Dominic and Dani present, I lied down on the moss.

O, moss!

The 12th installment of this Agnes de Garron hat series corresponds to today’s 1️⃣2️⃣1️⃣2️⃣ portal. ⛩

The near-year-end portal goes from 12/12 to 12/21/2021, representing a turning point for changes of consciousness and evolution—a gate of energy waves beckoning the joint awakening of the planet and its inhabitants.

This green-vortex hat with a touch of pink complements a meditative state.

Whenever I wear this Agnes de Garron hat, I think of the song “Blue Green” by the Swiss techno-pop group Yello. A fave!

Blue is the only color that hardly ever exists in nature as a pigment—it is usually the result of light with all its other colors filtered. Green is the color of consecration. Faerie-sparkle silver-thread deals the deal—accelerating the antenna-like nature of existence.

Unity is the way of now, counteracting the division of our societal programming.

This Agnes de Garron hat provides a seamless meshing with my beard. The top layer of texture matches my beard color exactly, with hues underneath that mimic the colors of the chakras as they go from red (the root) to purple (the crown).

“To be honest is to be natural—to be natural is to live in childlike wonder, love, and joy,” says Ascended Master El Morya. What could be more natural than to wear this whimsical Agnes de Garron hat, in which the color of the soil rises from primordial darkness…a creation story.

With threads of multiple colors, particles come together and arise…combining with black and brown shades in an allegory of infinite generation.

“Don’t take away my coconuts,” sings Kid Creole. The lyric came to mind when I saw this Agnes hat for the first time.

The ribbon-like strands on this black hat with green and red stripes remind me of shaved coconut, or witch-hazel blooms…my favorite flower.

This is the second hat I bought from Agnes de Garron. I got it at a faerie gathering in 2008.

Because this one is slightly oversized, I wear it on the coldest winter days. It keeps me warm…a splash of bright color within the snow.

Fuchsia, red, and black, it makes me think of a flame…like a mitre…evoking the pineal gland.

On the occasion of the solar eclipse and the new moon, I am sharing a blue-green Agnes hat.

Blue is the color of balance. The solar eclipse brings the conclusion of limiting, destructive ideas—clearing the atmosphere for the manifestation of a balanced, positive state on a New Earth. Green provides healing, truth, and focus.

Shining bright like turquoise, the hat has fuzzy fibers and subtle green stripes.

24 AGNES HATS (3/24)

Not all Agnes hats are fluffy or frilly or brimming with tendrils…some are understated, with surprising subtle touches.

This hat—which I fell in love with immediately—was not one Agnes expected me to pick as I sat in her parlor in Carroll Gardens. She spread on the sofa all the hats she had that day, and after I chose a model in sparkly black (Agnes rarely makes black items), I was attracted to the simplicity of this model and its chevron patterns.

I love how the chevron stripes are in gray, two shades of blue, and of course purple.

I envision wearing this someday (when it gets colder) with a cable-knit sweater that Agnes’ mom knit in the 1980s: super oversize, in beige…

24 AGNES HATS (2/24)

The violet ray corresponds to the crown chakra. I commissioned a purple hat from Agnes de Garron, founder of the first order of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, to embellish mine.

Purple is the color of transmutation and compassion. The crown chakra is the locus of self-knowledge and integration of the whole. The emptiness of the mind aligned with the intelligence of the heart and open communication with our molecular complex (DNA) results in steady ascension.

Peace and wellness are the keys to magic. The fuzzy, super-soft texture of this hat puts my mind at ease.

24 AGNES HATS (1/24)

Agnes de Garron is a performance artist known for her dazzling visual sense. In the course of one performance—which might not last more than five minutes—I have seen her change through what would seem to be more than 30 outfits…pushing and pulling accessories and layers to marvelous transformational effect. A master in the creation of accessories, Agnes started knitting her trademark hats in the 1990s.

I discovered her hats at a gathering of the Radical Faeries in 2008, where she sat on a rocking chair knitting near a shelf displaying her creations. Her pointy, “nippled” hats have become a kind of emblem of this secret society.

The first hat I got, like the model pictured here—which Agnes calls her “Everything” hat—dates from 2008. I love the tendrils which go in all directions. They make me think of antennas that broadcast brainwaves.
