Namhansanseong, Korea. UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 12 km. long fortress was built in the Gogureyo period over 2,000 years ago and was utilized as an emergency capital city during the Choseon dynasty.

After the Korean War, forced resettlement and war mobilization scattered the population. At the end of the war when the borders of two new nations were drawn, POWs from both sides were allowed to cross the "Bridge of No Return". For over 60 years, families and friends have been divided by an imaginary border a united Korea has remained only a hope. Here at the Korean DMZ, people record past memories of those on the other side and longings for the future.

The Joint Security Area remains the only possible venue for North-South Korean talks.
