A quick translation:
Dude: OK, guys, letâs assign the disasters. Hum, tsunami. Who wants the tsunami?
2004: Yeah, Iâll have the tsunami.
Dude: OK, 2004 has the tsunami. 2012, do you still want the asteroid?
2012: Nah, no need.
Dude: Cool, letâs schedule that for 2030. OK, 2020, I have-
2020: FIRES.
Dude: OK, we can do fires, no problem-
2020: NUCLEAR TENSION.
Dude: Fires and⌠nuclear tension?
2020: PANDEMIC.
Dude: 2020, you canât just- just have EVERYTHING-
2020: KOBE BRYANT DIES IN A HELICOPTER ACCIDENT.
1986: Wh-whoâs Kobe Bryant?
1347: Heli-what?
Dude: So, youâre asking for fires, nuclear tension, a pandemic AND the death of basketball legend in your year!?
2020: TILL MARCH.
Dude: Câmon. Guys, help me with this.
1986: I would say something, but⌠CHERNOBYL! Oops, am I right?
2014: At least you still have the twin towers.
2000: Wait, what do you mean?
1347: I agree that 2020 is pushing it-
1945: YOUâRE LITERALLY- Youâre the high point of the Bubonic plague!
1347: Oh, much apologies, Sir TWO ATONIC BOMBS!
1945: Itâs ATOMIC, you f*ing medieval-
1347: Who are you calling medieval, G.I. Joe. Go play with your-
1945: Here we go again-
2000: Now, seriously, what-
1: Yâall want BREAD?!
1347, with a funny accent: Look at me! I have ME.DI.CI.NE.

a friend of mine is allergic to salad, when he eats salad he literally throws up

brain: OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED
I too want a bunch of tiny bowls to hold spices in while im cooking but whoâs gonna wash them....not I
Life imitates art
Using a series of sensors, Duaâs bot detects when a person is about to run into something and beeps to them. The project took her a total of four days to build. Her prize is every Marvel fanâs dream.

You have to admire her audacity, if nothing else.
Literally my favourite thing about Rogue One is that it makes the opening of New Hope so funny. Like, Vader has followed Leia from a planet he just blew up seconds ago and pursued her across the galaxy and then sheâs just like:Â âIâm on a diplomatic mission to Alderaanâ
Vader: Youâre a rebel. I just had a fight with your entire rebel fleet and followed you here. Straight from the rebels. Of which you are a part
Leia: *dramatic gasp* rebel? Me???  I was just passing through. Diplomatically. Thought it was a five-space-ship pile-up or something going on thereâŚÂ
death star plans? on my alderaanian diplomatic mission? itâs more likely than you think
ok but this is like legitimate Canon Improvement because Iâd always wondered why Vader was so wildly furious at the start of the movie like ârahhhhh bring me the passengers I WANT THEM ALIVE!!!!â and now Iâm like
ohh yeah okay they literally JUST blew up Vaderâs base, stole his sh!t, and took off while giving him the finger from the window
while giving him the finger from the window
IT GOT BETTER

In French, we donât say âninety nineâ, we say âquatre vingt dix neufâ which roughly translates to âIâve never heard of a functional numeric system beforeâ and I think thatâs beautiful
i think the best thing about gen z is their dedication to self care and by this i mean when john mulaney performed at a college and he took a sip of water the crowd would start applauding and someone yelled at him âhydrate before you die-drateâ therefor confusing an already confused man even more
I went to a Hozier concert where he sent his manager out afterward to apologize to fans waiting to meet him. She was like âheâs not feeling great and heâs got a migraine and heâs really sorryâ and everyone was like TELL HIM TO GET SOME SLEEP and like, sent her back inside with three dozen Zennial/Gen Z lesbians (okay and a couple of Millennials, I wasnât the only one) giving her migraine tips to pass on.
The kids are getting back to the idea that weâre a community and should take care of each other, and I really love that.

the first avenger: dr. erskine said that the serum wouldnât just affect my muscles, it would affect my cells. create a protective system of regeneration and healing.
age of ultron: thor establishes that steve is not mortal.
endgame: weâre just gonna ignore all of that, and make steve old af to shock the audience, even though it doesnât make sense that steve would age at all, let alone at the same rate as a non-enhanced human, because what happened in previous movies is meaningless.
thatâs some good tea right there
Steve is hiding behind a nearby tree and trying not to laugh as the old guy he paid gives Sam the shield
âWanna tell me about the girl?â
Old guy who wasnt told about a girl slightly shitting himself âNoâŚI dont think I will.â
ok but imagine the craigslist ad:
Washington DC > services > services for hire
âwanted elderly white male (70+) to troll childhood friend into thinking I traveled back in time and am now old. Poker face a plus, as is striking resemblance to Paul Newmanâ
That explains SO much! Thank you!

Iâm laughing, but thereâs a super useful corollary, which my husband calls âthe Red Balloon.â He was a defense lawyer and had a fair number of drug addicts come through, and there is a thing where if youâre like, on your first offense, theyâll do a thing where you can go to treatment and if you complete it theyâll take the conviction off your record. And he would tell his clients, âLook, everyoneâs going to tell you not to do drugs. Theyâre going to say it over and over again. And itâs like, if people tell you not to think of a white elephant, youâre going to think of a white elephant. But the trick to not thinking about a white elephant is to think of a red balloon. So you need to find your red balloon. For some people itâs yoga. For others itâs woodworking. For some people itâs scrapbooking or gardening or any of a long list of things to do. They focus on that, itâs a lot easier to succeed in ignoring the white elephant.â So yeah, âwatch yourselfâ is one thing⌠but the better idea is to watch something else. (Even if itâs fanfic about werewolves fucking.)
Itâs a form of productive dissociation, and is super, super helpful. Itâs easy for me to get bogged down in how much pain Iâm in⌠but some of the most painful periods of my life have also been the most productive, writing-wise, because writing is one of my red balloons.Â
