Horrorthon 2018
Hey everyone! Haven’t been using Tumblr much but it’s that time of year again so i thought I’d share some of the horror films I’m watching. Not gonna do any lengthy reviews but just some quick thoughts. Here’s what I’ve watched so far:
Train to Busan (2016)
The best zombie film I’ve seen in at least five years. Takes a contained premise and makes the scope and stakes huge. Delivered on some great action, but also crafted a heartbreaking story of a father learning to put his daughter (and others) before himself.
Ouija: Origin of Evil (2016)
Mike Flanagan managed to take a prequel of a very weak first film and transform it into a great story. It makes use of the tried and true “haunted house” formula, but in no way that feels stale or played out. Solid all around and makes me very excited for Flanagan’s upcoming The Haunting of Hill House series on Netflix.
You Might be the Killer (2018)
A fun, loving satire on the slasher film that puts a new twist on the genre. Told non-linearly, we start with most of the bloodshed having already taken place and are slowly made privy to how each victim met his/her demise. Definitely a fun one to check out while it’s on the festival circuit.
The Invitation (2015)
An intriguing premise that takes its time building before unleashing hell on our characters. While I thought it meandered for a few stretches, the third act really shines.
Time is an illusion that helps things make sense So we are always living in the present tense It seems so forgiven when a good thing ends But you and I will always be back then You and I will always be back then
You and I will always be best friends~
Crying forever.
Don’t spoil the movie for others the same way you wouldn’t want it spoiled for you. Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” is in theaters TONIGHT. #ThanosDemandsYourSilence
thank you, mark
Merry Christmas Eve! Drew Wayne from Prep & Landing.
Really loved Coco. Far and away my favorite film of 2017, and in my opinion Pixar’s best since Toy Story 3. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen, absolutely beautiful. Drew Hector kinda quick last night on the iPad Pro with ProCreate.
Did a little holiday Super Mario animation with the Pixaki app on my iPad.
Day 31: Free draw. 🎃👻🔪 Figured I’d combine my two favorite Halloween stories for this one. And that’s a wrap on #Inktober2017! Was a lot of fun drawing these and could see definite improvement from last year. Gonna keep at it. Happy Halloween!!!
Horrorthon 2017
Have a decent list of horror movies I haven’t seen yet planned for this year, but started things off with a few that I’ve seen and enjoy.
House of the Devil (2016) - Reviewed this one last year or the year before but was anxious to watch it again. Really feels like it was pulled out of the 70s. Great slow burn and the payoff was still pretty scary.
Halloween H20 (1998) - Definitely another guilty pleasure of mine, probably my second-favorite in the Halloween franchise to date. Remember seeing the ads for it as a kid and being thoroughly spooked.
Happy October! Haven’t started hitting the horror movies too hard yet, but have been keeping up with Inktober so here’s my first week of drawings. Pretty happy with how they’re turning out so far.
Been wanting to do this comic for a long time and finally got around to it over the holiday weekend.
I love the concept that R2-D2 is the narrator of the Star Wars universe. Lucas has stated that this was his intent, and the deeper you think about it, the more fun the concept is.
While R2 may have told his stories to a Keepers of the Whills, I thought it would be fun to have him crash landing on Earth and telling his story to someone here… a kid named George.
Loved the new DuckTales Woo-ooh! premiere movie! Feel like they nailed it tonally and did a great job giving the nephews each a distinct voice. Can't wait for the season to begin! I drew Scrooge yesterday at DCA on my iPad.
JUST RELEASED from our Hey Arnold panel today at San Diego Comic Con, a CLIP FROM THE FILM (!!!) and concept art for the upcoming movie, Hey Arnold: The Jungle Movie!
Waiting for Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie like
So excited for this! Got to see the panel at Comic-Con this year and it looks fantastic!
