That thing I wish I could do but I can't cause I'm a girl...
There is this one thing that I really want to do, but as a girl, I think it's almost impossible.
And this thing is simple, just walk on my own at night.
I know it can seem simple and even stupid said like that but have you ever had this desire to just walk mindlessly in the streets when the sun was already down ? And has it ever happened that you actually went cause you though: « Nothing wrong can happen to me I'll go !»
Well, maybe if you have the chance to live somewhere really safe or go somewhere you know that you won't be alone it might be possible.
But honestly, how many times did you though: «It feels so good tonight outside, I want to go for a walk !», but then started to imagine every scenario that could go wrong, and decided to stay at home ?
I don't know about you but one of the things I love to do the most during a party where it's crowded, that it feels hot and my ears are buzzing, is to go outside and take some fresh air. So many times I wish I could go for a little walk to cool down, to recharge my batteries as an introvert... But I can't cause it could be dangerous.
Also, like when you don't feel good for some reason; you had a bad day at work, you had an argument with someone, you just want to go for a walk instead of crying. Well in those moments, I wish I could enjoy the quietness of the night, of the empty streets, to think, to watch the stars and take a deep breath... But I can't cause it could be dangerous.
Have you ever enjoyed a walk back to your house after a party ? Instead of walking the fastest you can and look around if someone is following you.
I know it's not that big of an issue, that some live in places where they're not safe, even in their own home. And I know that even for a man it can be dangerous to go out. But it just makes me sad to think that we can't fully enjoy the freedom that men have, that in our time you still have to be accompanied by a man to be safer.
And to know that if a woman goes outside at night and something happens, people will tell her that she should have been more careful, that she was looking for trouble...cause it was dangerous.
Please tell me what you think about it ! Do you feel the same or not ?
This text expresses only my own thoughts and does not seek to shock or irritate, only to discuss if you want to.

Kdramas you might want to watch … Part II/II
Part I HERE if you’re interested ! 😉
Good reading...
My ID is Gangnam Beauty (Netflix)
It tells the story of Kang Mi-Rae, a young girl who used plastic surgery to transform her face because she’s been bullied her entire childhood. At college, she discovers that having a reconstructed face can also become a challenge. Luckily, she’s got Cha Eun-Woo to always be by her side 😘😘 I think it’s interesting because the actress really did plastic surgery and said that doing this show was a challenge for her.
Healer (Netflix)
Three persons are connected by the story of their parents : Chae-Yong Shin (Park Min-Young 💖): a journalist who dreams to become a great reporter; Kim Mun Ho : a famous journalist, and Seo Jeong Hu : the Healer (Ji-Chang Wook 🤤) : a really good night courier. All together there going to try to solve a mystery of murders and conspiracies.
Hwarang (Netflix)
An historical drama, the name of the actors should be a good enough reason to watch this show : Go Ara, Park Hyung-sik, Park Seo-joon, Kim Tae-hyung from BTS, Minho from SHINee, Do Ji-Han, Lee Kwang-Soo among others…). Basically, Go Ara and Park Seo-joon pretend they’re brother and sister when in fact they are lovers, V is super cute and a surprising good actor, Minho is the kind of brother you wish you had… and there’s conspiracy, murders, brotherhood, and a lot of funny stuff. (I’m so bad at summarizing I’m sorry !!!)
The bride of Habaek (Netflix)
With Nam Joo-Hyuk, Shin Se Gyeong and Krystal from f(x) ! The god Habaek needs to go on hearth to find a powerful stone which could help him to get his throne back. In our world, he meets a woman who is supposed to serve him but has no idea of all this and has already a lot of problems. It's funny, kind of crazy, heartwarming, it has a very beautiful love story. What I like the most is that you don't know how it's gonna end until the very last minutes, which contrast with a lot of kdramas that are often predictable.
Itaewon class (Netflix )
Park Sae Roy (Park Seo Jun) is sent to prison for aggression on one of his classmate (a huge as*hole) who “injured” his father. Since then, he’s determinate to open a bar and destroy his company and his life as a revenge. He’s going to work with four interesting people, especially a young and sassy woman who’s going to fall for him pretty fast. I love how the main female character is not plain and naive like in most kdramas.
Psycho but it’s okay/It’s okay to not be okay (Netflix)
We follow the story of three main characters : an health worker in a psychiatric facility who’s very caring, his older brother with autism and an antisocial author of children’s tales. When they meet, they can’t be more clashing, however, something in their past connect them deeply. I love how each episodes are a reference to children’s tales and are a mix of fantasy and dark mystery.
Crash landing on you (Netflix)
Yun Se Ri is a pretty and rich young woman who’s going to inherit her dad’s company despite the complaints of her hypocritical brothers and sisters-in-law. After a paragliding accident, she ends up in North Korea where she meets the handsome and “cold” captain Ri Jeong Hyeok. He’s going to help her hide and go back to her country. I love how it takes place (in the story) in North Korea and depicts the differences between the ways of living in the two countries. Plus the chemistry between the two main characters is really touching (they’re dating for real).
Extraordinary you (Netflix)
One of my favorites ! Eun Dah Oh is a high school student with a heart condition. She finds out that her life is not real and she’s actually in a comic book… and she’s not even the main character ! In order to help the main couple, she has to suffer the terrible temper of her “love interest” and forget her reel crush who’s just an extra in the story… and possibly die from her heart condition. She then decides to fight against the writer in order to survive and be able to make her own choices. The main female character is so funny and energetic and her and Ro Woon looks so d*mn cute !
Boys over flowers, 2009 (Netflix)
It’s from 2009 but it’s iconic ! Watch the chinese version too ! Geum Jan Di is the teenage girl of a modest family, when she enters a prestigious school with rich and despicable students, she meets the famous group : the “F4” (rich and handsome young men) with their leader : Gu Jun Pyo (kind of a jerk). At first they hate each other : she’s immature, rebellious and poor ; he’s pretentious, bad tempered and egocentric. But he soon falls for her and change to become a better person. It’s really cliché and simple but funny and you grow fond of the multiple characters.
DO DO SOL SOL LA LA SOL (Netflix)
I watched it this Christmas thinking it would be a light and romantic kdramas for holidays, and it was… but it’s also very sad and heart wrenching at some point. Gu la la is a young and rich pianist who becomes poor after her dad’s company goes bankrupt and her wedding his cancelled. On her own for the first time, she needs to learn to become independent and decides to open a piano school. She meets Seon Wu Jun, a taciturn young man without any family and full of secrets who helps her to get back on track. Turns out she’s going to help him a lot too. I love how all the people she meets become her family and have an interesting backstory to tell. Plus there’s the cutest dog in the world who’s clearly more independent than her...
Voilà !
Hope this will help you for some good binge watch nights 💝🤗!!
Don’t hesitate to tell me what you thought about those shows or make recommendations !
PS: Sorry for all the mistakes, English is not my native language… And also for my terrible skills at summarizing plots !

EVERYONE GO READ THE MIRROR VISITOR! *I scream into the void*
La Passe-miroir (french) is a quartet by Christelle Dabos which was published in english a few days ago. It has a very rich and immersive fantastic world with a lot of mysteries, a main character with a unique power, character development (especially the mc) and a great writing style.
It’s one of my favorite book series and I would like more people to discover this little gem and fall in love with the world of Ophélie and Thorn.
Book one A Winter’s Promise is already out, go check it out.
