Onto the next thing

Well the boys didn’t have the same success in the finals that we were all hoping for. They were up against a top team and weren’t on the gas 100% when they needed to be. With this loss I am officially no longer a junior girlfriend and that makes me sad. Being a hockey girlfriend especially to a junior player for these last three years has not been easy but Its also been a lot of fun. I got to go to new places and meet new people and it was great overall.

I am so proud of my guy and the player he’s become. He played his heart out every night. I am honoured I got to be a part of his journey and watch him achieve so much success. He won two championships, had an unbelievable rookie season being thrown around into all different positions, was the leagues best defenseman in back to back years, with no other guy coming close to his points. I saw him go through a trade which was messy and hard but he ended up on a great team and had a shot for another cup. He got to go to westerns twice and play for the RBC cup once as well. He got a div 1 scholarship and is moving onto bigger and better things. Not excited for him to be moving even further away from me but we’ve handled these last 3 years of junior how much harder can college hockey be. So excited to see where his talents take him and the things he achieves.

To his two junior teams, the bombers and mustangs you have both been unbelievable. Thank you for this experience it’s been a hell of a ride!

Heading back to the finals

Holy shit now this is a comeback that I have not seen. 3 years of juniors and 30 plus playoff games and I have never seen a team battle back from being down 3 games in a best of seven series. This is a special team tho and they managed to pull it off. Their was no doubt once the boys tied the series that they were going to the finals but they showed up tonight and put on a show for a full house. 3 goals for and none against. Our young goalie played like a superstar and was the game changer in this series. Exciting series and a great ending. My guy is heading back to the league finals for the  third year in a row. Has another crack at the cup so let’s hope he and his team can manage four more wins. Super proud of the boys and the effort they put in let’s do it all over again and bring home the cup boys!

Down 3

Once again I've been slacking but to be fair I haven't watched the games so hard to recap them. But pretty much this series is not going as plan. The boys just don't seem to want it bad enough. They can't find ways to best this strong goaltender and they need to play harder without getting into trouble. They've battled the whole series from behind and you're definitely not gonna win that way. Boyfriends been a solid player though. Definitely his teams best which I'm happy for him. I was hoping he'd get to play in the finals one last time in his junior career but things aren't looking up right now. Unless the boys can come back from being down and win 3 back to back games their season is gonna come to and end soon. Sucks after seeing his last two seasons his team has gone all the way. But different year different team different outcome I guess

Onto the SEMIs

It’s been awhile, I’ve been slacking on the posts. But the bombers did it, they battled their way to second seed going into playoffs and now they’ve completed their quarter finals which was probably a lot harder than it should have been. They had one bad game that kept them from getting the sweep but the boys were able to battle back last night on home ice to advance to the semis. This next series is definitely not going to be any easier either. They got a long way to go but I know they’ll be able to do.

Also just want to say how extremely proud I am of my guy. He’s had another great season. I would have never expected him to have this much success. He continues to impress me every day with the talent and love he has for the game. He’s always one of his teams best players on the ice doesn’t matter the night. He’s out competing and leading the team every night and that’s incredible to see. Hard to believe that his junior career is almost over but he’ll be onto bigger and better things and I am so excited to cheer him on. But for now he has a few more games of junior playoff hockey to win so let’s hope the boys can keep it up.

Putting on a Show

The boys were getting filmed tonight for a documentary and they didn’t let their time to shine go to waste. Babe said he was going to kick ass tonight and they definitely did that, 11 goal shut out and a solid 3 points for my boy. Of course it was a home game cause that’s the only time they ever play good and that also means I didn’t get to watch but maybe I’ll get to see it when the doc gets released. They got  a home and home series so they hit the road  tomorrow and that’s gonna be a tough game. I mean 6 guys got game misconducts tonight, two of them getting two misconducts each so who knows what tomorrow holds. Definitely gonna be a rough one I’m guessing. Must have been an exciting night for the team, they got a shut out so our back up goalie is probably pumped but I mean the team did a great job in front of him with only 18 shots on net so it was probably actually a boring game for him. But every suited player except for three picked up a point tonight so that’s got to be exciting for the guys that don’t get that often. And my boy himself got 3 points, including a goal to add to his count. He made it to the 15 mark only 5 more to get to his goal, with about 8 games left in the season let’s hope he can do it and keep his hold on the top defenceman leader. Solid effort boys let’s do it again tomorrow night

Another two goals for #27

I don’t know who this boys is cause he has gone months at a time without scoring a goal and here he is getting four goals in two games pretty much carrying his team. Unfortunately the boys could not get the win tonight however my boy played an excellent game and that’s all you can really ask for. Would have been nice for them to get the win but after their day off yesterday they didn’t really take the time to actually rest which would have been smart and the big ice and fresh opponents got the better of them. Could have been an entirely different game had #27 as well as the goalie not played as great as they did cause they defineitly were what kept the team in it tonight. The refs were making some dumb calls and they were defintely not reffing a two sided game cause only one team were getting calls after the other team had just committed the same crime. Hard but to swallow as it does end their 12 game point streak but theyre back at it again tomorrow night so let;s hope they can start a new streak and then maybe finally my boy can get this hattrick hes been so close to for a couple games now

Redemption Night

After a rough night last night the boyfriend redeemed himself and got TWO GOALS which essentially won the game cause that’s all they would have needed. He got the tying goal and then a few minutes later got the game winner. His team along with him tried to set him up for the rest of the night for the hattrick and he came so close but the other team was not having any of it and were all over him. He came close in the dying seconds of the third but time just wasn’t on his side and neither was the post cause he hit one of them too. He definitely had a good game though and redeemed himself from last night. It was a good enough effort to get him first star. The rest of the team played good as well and they are now 2 for 2 on their four game roady hopefully they can keep it going. Enjoy your rest day boys cause you;re back at it again in a couple days.

Extending the streak

Boys got themselves another win tonight and it was on the road so that makes it even better. It was also against the former team and thats always nice. Nice to see them win and another ex stang had a good game. My ex stang on the other hand, somebody must have been wearing his jersey tonight cause that was definitely not my hockey player out there. Was not playing like himself would love to blame it on the fact that its his old rink but honestly that has nothing to do with it he just had a terrible game. Probably would have been better if he hadn’t taken his sweet ass time and missed an empty net. He was pissed after that and his game just went downhill from there. But the boys got the win and thats all that matters. Hopefully he can get his shit together for the next game
