I was listening to my goat singer and I suddenly got an idea drawing of Lucian and John.
In this Au, it takes place in Mexico between 1902 and 1920—the era of the Porfiriato and the Mexican Revolution.

Lucian is striking, legendary figure in the bullrings of Mexico City. He isn't a flashy, acrobatic bullfighter. He is known for standing absolutely still, letting the bull pass inches from his chest. He uses his massive frame and stoic composure to dominate the ring. They call him El Oso because of his heavy, deliberate stance and his thick, dark hair. But Outside the ring, he’s a quiet man who frequents the local churches, deeply tied to his faith and his community, embodying that protective, maternal instinct by quietly funding local orphanages with his prize money.
Now John is foreign correspondent or a disgraced former diplomat who ran away from a scandal in London. He writes for underground anti-Diaz newspapers, smoking heavily and drinking mezcal in the smoky cantinas. But also he doesn't believe in glory, he doesn't believe in the romance of the bullfight, and he thinks Lucian is an idiot for risking his life for a cheering crowd.
Instead of fighting demons, they are navigating a country about to explode into a revolution. John is constantly tracking the political unrest, while Lucian is trying to maintain a sense of tradition and sanctuary for the people caught in the crossfire.
