Tbh Chris’ rumoured return might just be to be voice Steve in the What-if animated series marvel is doing. Other than that I don’t think he’ll make an actual appearance.

Yeah, I thought it might be that too when the news first broke, but I’m pretty sure I remember someone giving a solid reason why that probably wasn’t the case... I can’t remember what it was though, so yeah, maybe you’re right! I doubt he’ll make an actual appearance too, but we’ll see <3

If I recall correctly the reason was that the articles are talking about something new that is currently being negotiated and definitely hasn't started filming yet, whereas the What If? episodes were filmed forever ago (I mean, Chadwick is in it). Also, you see at least 2 versions of Steve (Zombie and Iron Man) in the trailer, so his involvement wouldn't be much of an announcement because it would actually be more surprising if he wasn't in it than if it was.

The rumours are definitely referring to a brand new project, so in my opinion it's either:

a) not true, they're just rumours (most likely)

b) Nomad series (unlikely, difficult to fit in the timeline and they would either need to get ScarJo back and borrow Anthony and Seb or adequately explain their absence)

c) series following the Howlies in WWII (unlikely because no offence but they are all visibly much older than when TFA aired and the Howlies hype has kind of passed) or Peggy and Steve in the 50s post Endgame (ugh, please no, this would be offensive to both of them on a variety of levels)

OR *slips on my largest clown shoes*

d) Old Steve was a Skrull and the real Steve is imprisoned on the moon, and the project he's involved in will be Secret Invasion where he escapes and helps SamCap et al. fight off the Skrull invasion
