No, but fr... this fic was so much fun to write collectively! Writing Ilya's parts were so much fun against TheQueenOfFish' Shane interpretation!

I had the idea for this fic when I sent a version of the original ‘Reddit post’ to my friend, (schoolofdove here on ao3) who responded to it with a Reddit comment. It was so much that I had to pitch it as an idea in the server! So thank you to schoolofdove for inspiring the idea of a collective Reddit au, and for always being so encouraging and wonderful ❤️ Some of their original response lives on in the medical student thread!

Ilya had a tradition of doing spring-time tea with his mom as a kid. Normal lunch sandwiches cut into strips, using the Good Teapot and putting the milk in the little jug instead of pouring it straight from the carton. He was allowed to invite his friends (Sasha and/or Sveta) too.
I think he sees a boogie Ottawa hotel advertising Mother's Day High Tea and asks if Yuna wants to go (even tho Shane's out of town for playoffs).
So then it becomes a tradition for him to take Yuna to tea for Mother's Day, and sometimes he'll find places that do it year round and surprise Yuna for her birthday/Christmas/just because.
Shane brings it up to Svetlana who explains and even has a picture in her apartment somewhere. Next time Montreal plays Boston Shane and Sveta spend the whole day looking for the picture.
They find it, and it's a picture of Ilya at 10, Svetlana and Irina on either side, and the fancy "good" teapot and matching little milk jug and sugar bowl and tea cups are in the frame.
After they're married Shane spends months hunting down that exact tea set. It was a mass produced tea set, but it was made in the 80s so finding a whole set outside of Russia proves very hard. But he manages to cobble together all the pieces and on their first anniversary, at the cottage, away from the insanity of bringing Ottawa a cup after their first season playing together, he gives them to Ilya.
Ilya unwraps the milk jug first and is already crying, and then there's the sugar bowl, and the little spoon, and the teacups, and the separate spoons for stirring sugar and milk into the tea, and of course the tea pot.
They have a family tea like Ilya used to, out on the back patio, with the tea set, and Russian rye sandwiches and fillings and it tastes like Ilya's childhood.

au where everything is the exact same but after hayden accidentally outs them shane is so stressed out that he asks ilya for a cigarette from the pack he knows is poorly hidden in his home and then they smoke outside together in silence and when they go back inside shane just like jumps back into planning mode and says nothing about it and ilya is genuinely not sure if hes terrified or turned on
Headcanon that Ilya is late to one of their hookups one time and Shane is like what kind of SICK GAME is he PLAYING. So ilya gets there and shanes super irritated which leads to some damn good sex (this is canon) and then ilya reveals that he was late because there was a canada goose in the parking lot that wouldn't let him get near the door.

If there was one thing that anyone knew about Tim Drake, it was that he didn’t get enough sleep. It wasn’t uncommon for him to be awake for multiple days in a row, functioning off of a case of red bulls and pure spite. It was expected at this point to run into him either in the cave or at the table, typing away at a computer without any awareness of the outside world.
It was also why an unwritten rule was created. If you find Tim passed out, just leave him alone. He needs the sleep.
