Illustration dump of sorts...fairwell 2014.
LOL.
Original cover art by Gene Colan from Battle Action #30, published by Marvel Comics, August 1957.
Beautiful.
Have you ever had anyone really important in your life doubt you or try to deter you from your dream? If so how did you overcome that?
Remind yourself of life is too short to not fill it full of things and people that fulfill you and make you happy. look this person in the eye and tell them the same.
I took this Aesop Fable and made it about killer mermaids.
SO GOOODDDDD
I like this comic! Merfolk! Paging mondegreenery!
If you’re not familiar with the Hero Initiative, they’re one of our favorite organizations here at ComicsAlliance — a nonprofit set up to create a “financial safety net” for comic book creators in need, helping with medical bills and living expenses. It’s one thing to know that they’re doing good things in the world, but Heath’s comic, showing both the help provided during his surgery and the simple pleasure of a bottle of wine, really shows just how much good they’re doing.
Donations can be made to the Hero Initiative at their website.
Even a journeyman deserves better.
And when you bitch about how the publishers — Big 2, at least — treat the creators, add a footnote for Lichtenstein. Without comics, somewhat more specifically work by Heath, Romita and Grandenetti, he’d have no career.

Photographer Martin Klimas captured the exact moment of these kung-fu porcelain figurines shattering on the ground, resulting in chaotically beautiful images.
The History of Wolverine Explained by Chris Haley and Jordan Gibson
Jack Kirby’s original concept art for The Coal Tiger (later The Black Panther).

1988 - The Asgardian Wars House Ad
Marvel has repackaged these things in more ways than are actually tasteful. Tho' it really is a cautionary tale: it birthed the McFarlane-Leifield wave of abject selfish suckitude that ravaged the industry and art for a decade. Oh yeah, and there should be comicon panels on just how bad Chris Clairmont's dialogue was/is.
Comic - Eks Almanac #400 (Yugoslavian)
Um...communist dodging copyrights sure...and in their defense, there really ARE only fantastic three of them there...
The Hank Pym Photo Archives come to Marvel Comics! It was just announced at NYCC that I will be doing 20 variant covers for the month of February in the style of the “photos” that I’ve posted on my blog in the past. Thank you to everyone who has favorited/liked/reblogged these pieces in the past. This wouldn’t have happened without you!
