There’s a joke to be made about being in the closet but I’m too emotional to make it
I really really love that there is NO finesse to the way Glinda just fuckin…throws out the whole government. Just fuckin chucks it. Her Elphie is dead, she has nothing to lose, and yes she’s gonna honor Elphaba’s legacy in every way possible once she’s had a second to breathe, but first she’s getting petty revenge and she’s so goddamn ruthless about it. Emotionally eviscerate the Wizard first, THEN banish him to the ends of the earth. Humiliate and taunt Morrible like a cat with a mouse, THEN have her dragged away and locked in a cage previously used for Animals. This motherfucker did not cleverly or intricately work the system to bring down the government, she staged a one-woman coup in her sparkly dress and Elphie’s big clompy boots and she was an ice cold bitch about it. She knowingly lets herself get ugly for a minute and revels in it because that’s all she has left. Heartbroken vengeful Glinda you are so dear to me.
Rizal Badar's beautiful fanart for Wicked: For Good.
gelphie my beloved 💞
"What's your favorite horror film?" Idk maybe when Cadence found out the Liars had been dead the whole time
just gonna say I did not expect to get so hooked on a book that started with “Joost had two problems: the moon and his moustache”
I really feel for Mishi the entire show, she’s just so alone. We don’t get to see her life in New York but from all accounts she didn’t have much of one outside of dance. When she comes back to France, she obviously feels out of step with the flow, unable to pick up her life where she left it. We don’t see her being friends with either the other MBT transfers or the Paris ballet (aside from a couple comments from Tristan). We don’t see her feel at home with her parents. She’s very quiet, shrinking into herself, unsure even with - and especially among - a friendly group of local teens welcoming her with open arms. That’s why I love when being paired with the curmudgeonly semi-recluse inventor Bruna actually brings her out of her shell. She asks for what she needs, expresses her feelings, talks back, and builds an honest bond with someone. It’s so beautiful, and a pity we got so few scenes of my Mishi.
tobias bell you are so important to me
they had to keep them on opposite sides of the globe most of the time because had they been allowed to hang out more often their combined bestfriendism and autistic swagger would have singlehandedly saved The Arts and the entire premise of the show would have been nil
I feel like the writing of Tobias and Cheyanne in Étoile are little works of genius because Tobias is “obviously” autistic, whereas Cheyanne can come across as “eccentric” but at the end of the day, they have the same traits.
Cheyanne is difficult, and rude, and does too much. She tries to teach classes where she’s not even remotely supposed to be, she has blatant disregard for social norms, and has a VERY strong sense of justice. She asks questions instead of doing what she’s told, and pushes past people’s boundaries because she doesn’t recognize that they are there.
She leaves rooms suddenly without answering people’s questions, and most of all, look at her mother.
What’s fascinating to me is Tobias does all these things too.
As far as I’m concerned the only difference between them (in regards to their neurodivergence) is they gave Tobias a pair of headphones. And this is what flagged Tobias’ autism for a lot of people. But furthermore it shows how little awareness there is about “classic” autism presenting in women.
Sometimes my inner voice sounds like Tobias, he’s infected my brain
I really enjoy seeing all the subtle tells that Tobias is autistic. It's not just the directness/rudeness and the headphones, which of course are a dead giveaway for most people, but it's also him constantly wearing comfortable, baggy clothes (because fabric touching you can give you sensory overload). His urge to buy a book on something he doesn't understand (the great rat fiasco). How he's unable to function during rehearsal, knowing there's something Jack needs to discuss with him afterward (aka the dreaded WAIT MODE (tm) activated). The urge to point out when something isn't perfect and could be better (Gabin was more precise!). The fact that when Genivieve visits his place, he turns on a zillion lamps but never the big light. His complete lack of sense of direction (these hallways all have the same giant chandeliers), and so on.
And I love that his personality isn't treated as a gag or a joke; it's just part of who he is, and Gabin doesn't see it as a flaw or a project to be fixed (or make peace with). He fully accepts him and loves him, the whole package, because of who he is and not despite that.
Finished Sunrise on the reaping and didn’t go to any of my classes cause I’m in mourning and my body has shut down
Ponyboy, who has to read Little Women for a reading assignment, “Oh yeah, Soda, it’s a real nice book. I think you’d like it.”
Dally, across the room, not looking up from the game of poker he’s playing,“Beth dies.”.
