I've been turning it over this way and that, and I still don't understand why they meant for the Shannon parallel to work. Like, cinematically? Sure! It was shot the same way, easy to notice etc etc. But emotionally? That's not Buck's child or his family. It's his friend(s) he hadn't seen in four years and a kid he just met. And sorry but I simply don't believe that he formed such a deep bond with the kid already that he'd react similarly to seeing your wife lay dying in the street. It felt cheap, it felt lazy, it felt like trying to wrangle out an emotional response with no buildup whatsoever. Buck is an emotional guy, but he's been shown to be able to work past that before. They simply couldn't make me believe in the emotional coding of the scene at all.

its just the combination of eddie not wanting to date women but going out for a night to humor buck + buying himself at auction + correcting multiple people when questioned about whether he’s dating alex + NOT correcting anyone about him being married to buck even though it would greatly benefit his and buck’s safety and the fact he was being ACCUSED OF MURDER due to the fact that the spouse is usually the prime suspect. it all feels really pointed 😭

For anyone who doesn't think Chimney rides for Buck like he was his own brother, you didn't pay attention to the catfish bloated body scene, the grocery store divorce arc scene, the entirety of the episode where he knows the big Buckley Family Secret, or the fact that even though he hated the idea of a bachelor party he was gonna go anyway because Buck was throwing it for him.

As someone with siblings over a decade older than me, Chimney and Bucks relationship is text book age gap sibling coded.

Get off my nerves with the Chimney hate cause y'all think he's unreasonably mean to Buck. He's not. There's a difference between being mean and hateful and pattern recognition from knowing someone for almost a decade.
