SHAZAM! - Official Teaser Trailer [HD]
valkyrie in iw: hi, iâm brunnhilde, this is my sidekick, thor
the avengers: ??? sidekick ???
thor: đđđ yeah đđđ
Luck isnât a superpower. And certainly not very cnematic. Yes, it is.
âYou guys make a cute couple!âÂ
somehow I know I made this because of @petermaximoff
so i saw some people discussing how loki in ragnarok shouldnât have been at all phased or subverted by dr. strange â which i agree with, but also, hey, itâs comedic and you can argue that he was taken off-guard, but upon re-watch, something stuck out to me â
thereâs this moment when they appear at the bottom of the stairs and thor rolls down the last couple and stands up and he says
we couldâve just walked.
and it made me think of how magic works in terry pratchettâs novels, how (to paraphrase) the hard part wasnât turning someone into a frog, it was not turning someone into a frog when you knew how easy it was.
like, the whole scene with dr. strange is just. all magic. all pointless magic. unnecessary magic, when, well. they could have just walked.
whereas loki doesnât really rely on magic overmuch in the movie â he uses it as a tool, when he needs it, but if the job can be done with plain old non-magical trickery or a knife, he just uses those. he resorts to magic when heâs cornered by valkyrie, he uses it when his goals are most directly accomplished by using magic rather than by other means.
whereas dr. strange is using magic all over his scene, just to use it. just because he can. magic was unnecessary for ninety percent of what he did in that scene, the only time he needed magic was to whisk them away to norway. but he teleported all over the place even when he only needed to move a few feet, gave thor an ever-refilling beer that just spilled everywhere, floated around to make a show of how ~magical~ he was, whenâŠ
he could have just walked.
i mean, iâm very sure that the filmmakers intended it for comedic effect, but thereâs also a layer there of dr. strange being much less comfortable with magic than loki is â loki doesnât need to bust out the magic at every opportunity, itâs simply a skill, a tool that is completely under his control and at his disposal. whereas dr. strange (at least in his scene in ragnarok) is showing off, which reeks of insecurity.
i guess iâm thinking⊠if you take the magic away, loki is still a deadly, formidable opponent with many tricks up his sleeve, but dr. strange is just a guy in a cape.
this is good and true because in the comics loki and dr strange got in a fight in a parking lot and then both of them had their magic taken away so loki just punched stephen through a wall and called it a gay ass day
in fairness most days for Loki are gay ass days regardless of how many wizards he punches
Some of the actresses of Romani descent** suggested for Wanda Maximoff, who is canonically half Romani in the comics, following the MCUâs whitewashed portrayal of her. Romani representation is vitally important and Marvel has a responsibility to represent Scarlet Witch, whose heritage is an integral part of her character, respectfully and accurately.
Wanda deserved better.
co-written with rob-anybody
Franciska Farkas Tatiana Eva-Marie Mihaela DrÄgan Ayá» Katalin Barsony Elena Furiase Alba Flores Alina Serban Hiba Abouk
** The actresses in this lineup can also be used as options for Cynthia Reynolds from DC Comics.
Do you know if any of these actors are Jewish? cos that matters too.
jubilee aesthetic! đđ
OKAY BUT DID EVERYONE FORGET THAT JUBILEE IS A BADASS OR??? Fox molded her into this girl that goes to the mall for hair and nails, when really she shoplifted to stay alive after her parents died, and when she found out about her powers after being cornered and almost arrested by guards, she used her powers to do tricks for money at the mall, escaping security with her mutant abilities. Her father figure was Wolverine for a while, for Christâs sake, she is strong as hell. Sheâs blown up part of the Mandarinâs castle, held her own against the hand, and once, when giving up on being a superhero, she went to Hollywood but got cast in stereotypical Asian roles, blasting her agent with plasma pyrotechnics when he tried to seduce her. Iâm not saying she isnât kind, hence her adopting a child (Shogo Lee) who she brings on missions and getting captured while escaping a facility because she was administering CPR to someone she almost killed, Iâm saying that she is powerful and fights tooth and nail for what she has, she is not dainty nor the perfect picture of femininity and cute clothes that they make her out to be. Fox did Jubilee wrong and she deserves her own movie. ASAP.
I definitely agree!!! I only have one question Why not both? Not her being dainty, of course. God knows sheâs far from it. But I always saw her as someone that was both feminine and loved being cute and cared deeply AS WELL AS being a total badass who kicked ass and took names, not letting anything stop her. I donât mean this to be mean, I just like seeing her as both. But thatâs just me
jubilee is canonically gender non conforming most of the time, and itâs good representation for gender non conforming women. Sinceâs sheâs also a canon lesbian, one could even go as far as saying sheâs butch. most women have to be in latex suits or dress in skirts to be a superhero because they donât want women to think they can look any different than them. itâs another way weâre socialized into thinking presenting masculine is wrong and bad and that we are only eye candy for men. so yeah, Iâm fighting for that rep to be recognized because we need it and it exists in jubilee, who like me, is a gender non conforming lesbian.
also, every other superheroine (black widow, supergirl, huntress, poison ivy, etc) is dressed extremely feminine and in âsexy clothingâ or skirts or fishnets or something explicit even. youâve got that kind of âbadass and feminineâ rep if you want it. in fact, youâve had it since comics with female heroes came out.
If you want jubilee to be feminine, watch the new movies where they give her pigtails and makeup and a cuter, tinier leather jacket. but jubilee in the comics has always been badass and defied gender roles and that is always going to be more revolutionary than a woman being badass and complying to gender roles.
so thatâs why it is NOT both, not in the comics at least.
but I would be interested in jubilee getting a femme gf, which would present feminine solely for women and therefore be EXTREMELY COOL and bring a whole new meaning to badass and feminine.

Description: Jennifer misses school without telling anyone, so you come over to see her.
A/N: in this house we love and appreciate bisexual Jennifer Pierce!!!
It takes a few knocks before you open the door to see Jefferson Pierce smiling back at you.
âY/N, how have you been?â He opens the door and gestures for you to come in.
âTo be honest, not the best, Mr. P. Jennifer ainât been answering my texts, and she missed school too. Itâs really weird of her. You donât mind if I check up, do you?â
Mr. Pierce grins in that way that makes you think everything is going to be okay, âHave at it. Sheâs been sulking all day.â Before you make it all the way up the staircase, he calls your name, and you look back. âYouâre a good friend. Jennifer is lucky to have you.â
You smile back, âsheâs lucky to have you too, Mr. P.â You almost forget why youâve been feeling sick to your stomach all day until you open Jenniferâs door to find her sobbing at the end of her bed.
âJen, whatâs going on? Can I help?â
Jennifer looks over at you before dropping her head again, laughing emptily and wiping her tears. âYou canât help me. Iâm broken.â
You chuckle lowly in disbelief. âJen, what are you talking about? Youâre perfect.â
âStop it.â Jennifer shakes her head, then turns away from you, facing the headboard. She sniffles, stuttering, âYou wouldnât say, say that if you knew.â
Your thoughts run wild. Is she on serious drugs? No, that canât be it, Jen is too terrified to do anything but weed. Is she having nightmares about the kidnapping again? No, why would that make her broken? The one thing you can think of is that Jenâs been hurt by someone she loves, someone she trusts. You think to Khalil, and your fist clenches unconsciously.
âKnew what, Jennifer?â
She turns back to you. Her eyes are puffy and red, and sheâs wearing sweatpants with a baggy shirt. Even now, sheâs still beautiful, but your feelings canât get in the way of helping her. You canât add to her stress by straining the friendship.
âY/N, if I tell you this⊠you canât tell anyone. I mean, anyone. God, I feel so embarrassed.â She rolls her eyes.
âJennifer,â you grab both her shoulders and focus her gaze onto you, âwhatever it is, you never need to feel embarrassed. Iâm alway here for you.â
âIâm- IâmâŠ.. Iâm a freak, Y/N. Iâm a freak.â Jennifer shakes as she chokes the words out.
âJenniferâŠâ
âNo,â she slides off her bed and puts in her slippers, padding over to her dresser where she opens a drawer and grabs a broken phone, âLook at this! Itâs burnt! I did this with my bare fucking hands, Y/N! Tell me that doesnât make me a freak!â
You pause.
âJen, if this is some sort of jokeâŠâ
Jennifer sighs, frustrated, âDoes it look like this is a joke? Look, Iâll do it now!â
It takes a moment for you to make out, but suddenly her eyes are a bright orange, like fire. You blink in disbelief. Then comes the lightning.
Between her hands is electricity to match her eyes, and your own go wide.
âJen, oh my god. YouâreâŠâ
She powers down, and Jennifer looks back at you in fear, as if youâre the one who just had fire in your fingers. Itâs the most vulnerable youâve ever seen her.
âYouâre amazing.â
She furrows her eyebrows in confusion. âWhat?â
You take her by the shoulders again, but this time you donât even try to hide the loving tone in your voice.
âJennifer Pierce, you are the most amazing girl Iâve ever met. Hell, the most amazing person Iâve ever met.â You pause, choosing your next words carefully. âIf youâre a freak, then I donât want to be normal.â
Jenniferâs eyes are brown now, and brimming with tears. Her hand flies over her mouth as she blinks and they start flowing. Before you know it, her arms are around you. You try and savor the moment, forgetting the way your heart breaks when you think about how sheâll never hug you like you hug her, but you feel better knowing sheâs happy.
âHey, Y/N.â
âWhat, Jen?â
âI broke up with Khalil.â
You smile over her shoulder, trying to fake a sad tone as best as you can. âOh, really?â
âYeah,â Jennifer separates herself from you, but keeps you at armslength. âTo be completely honest, I think we broke up before we even knew it.â
You hear the longing tone in her voice and this time you donât have to fake your sincerity. âThat sucks, Jen, Iâm really sorry.â
âOh, itâs fine, I have someone else I really like.â
Your expression drops, and you can feel your heart do the same, âReally? Who?â
Jennifer smirks like she knows something you donât and places her hand on your cheek, âYou.â
You donât have time to register anything before Jenniferâs lips are on yours and youâre kissing. and youâre kissing. and youâreâŠ.holy shit, youâre both kissing. Sheâs kissing you. It doesnât make your knees feel any stronger when little electric currents begin to flow into your mouth from hers. You can barely believe it. It feels like floating. Her technique is a little inexperienced, but so is yours, and it just makes it even more special.
After you both stop, you canât help but smile like an idiot. Jennifer rolls her eyes, âDonât get a big head just cause I kissed you, dork.â
âHey, if youâre trying to bring me down, you canât. Not after that.â She looks away before you can see her blush, but you use a finger to guide her face to yours, and you begin kissing again. Itâs not long before youâre both interrupted by the door opening, though.
âJennifer, I was just wondering- oh.â
Jenniferâs eyes go wide, âDad!â
Jefferson Pierce looks flustered for the first time in his life, âSorry! I, Iâll leave! You two uhâŠ. Jennifer, Iâm glad youâre feeling better.â
Jennifer smiles, getting up to see her dad, âYeah, me too. Bye now!â She closes the door and looks back at you.
You frown. âWell, that relationship was fun.â
She smirks at you again, and you melt. âIf you think you can get rid of me that easilyâŠâ Jennifer gets on the bed and takes both of your cheeks in her hands, âYouâve got another thing coming.â
