Not sure what to tag this or anything. Don't really care who it'll reach honestly. It's 7 in the morning and I haven't slept. My well is broken so I have no water and I can't afford to fix it while also buying groceries and paying my mortgage.

I'm a disabled artist/writer. Not that I don't wanna work, just that I can't. Commissions aren't enough to live off of. Don't pay this any mind if you don't want to or can't afford to, genuinely, I'm just. really tired of trying to stabilize my finances only for the next big disaster to happen aha

But even like. $1 is nice. that's like a burger. I like burgers. even if they're only in my mind since that dollar would be going to fixing my well

A commission for @k-a-karma-art of their character, Diego Alfred Armend! Thank you so much for allowing me to help bring him to life : ) There were a lot of working pieces in this commission, basically every asset is removeable in the files, so this took a lot longer than I thought it would. Your understanding has been wonderful!

More versions + the chibis and reference sheets under the cut! There's a lot, and I don't want this post to be half of your dash.

This commission was for a full reference sheet and a full body render to go with it. I was commissioned over on VGen, and you can find the link to my page right here!

Because this took so much longer than I thought it would, and because Christmas was right around the corner, I threw in a few extra chibis for @k-a-karma-art as a treat, including that non-humanoid one which is Diego's 'mythical peep' form.

I used 76 reference images, an entire Google Doc of information about the character, 328 active (not hidden or copied) layers not including folders, and hours and hours of work LOL I remember his jacket alone in the full body render took ~4 hours to render.

Have you imagined the horror Pure Vanilla experiences hearing Dark Cacao talk about how the White Plague swept through his kingdom? That man has no chill (ironic for being from a cold climate)

Not only would he feel bad for not being there for him, since PV is able to heal the Plague having the power of it himself as well, but it would be a new fear he didn't realize he needed to have.... He could do that too. He wouldn't!!! But... Neither would his mother before the corruption took her... If someone as kind as she could fall then what did that say for him? He didn't hold it against her. He knew that she wasn't in her right mind... she wasn't like that truly he told himself. The idea he could someday hurt those he loved so badly.... it would haunt his nightmares, and should anyone notice he couldn't even bring himself to tell them why. The dreams so clear and detailed thanks to dear Cacao's detailed descriptions of how it effected his people. ("So you can recognize it early should she try it on your kingdoms. I do not wish you know the pain I do of seeing your people wither away like that." he'd said, meaning well.)

Another scene from the Flour AU, I love his flower staff and believe it deserves to be it's own character in stories more. I also wanted to do more art more like my own style! As I want to do both more cookie run style art and humanoid leaning because both are fun!. So enjoy a little PV in his school years having a breakdown in a closet. :) I love all the art that gives him lil elf ears so yeah I had to. In the first art its hidden by his hair and cookie run style art has no ears so that's my excuse XD Scene from the doc below!

“I am glad to see Chance is still serving you well.”    Both Holly and Cacao looked at them curiously. “Chance?”  “Oh yes, my dear little friend here!” Pure Vanilla gestured to his staff, the flower on top’s eye squinting in what Pure Vanilla has come to know as a smile, waving one of its little vines in a wave.   “Pure Vanilla and I made the spell that allows him to see though him when we were students to make it easier for him.” Lilly giggled as she offered a hand to the flower, one of the vines winding around it pulling it to press against a petal where its mouth would be in a mime of kissing her hand. Eye playful with the gesture. “Chance here agreed to be the focus.”  “Plants are smarter than most give them credit for, some more-so than others such as Vanilla Orchids!” Pure Vanilla continued. “I was the one who gave him the name though, since he’s given me the ‘chance’ to live a little more normally. Something I greatly appreciate, along with his company. He’s a wonderful friend and listener.”    He wasn’t lying but even Lilly didn’t know just how much he meant those words. Chance was the only one alive who knew everything after the stress of hiding it all finally became too much. He’d hidden, alone he thought and broken down, but a clatter after a minute startled him out of it. The staff that he’d forgotten he’d rested against a table had fallen, or rather the little arm like vines had pushed it over.  Chance was looking at him, worry in its eye where it tried to pull itself closer to him. Wrapping said vines around his hand and arm when he picked up the staff and giving him a little squeeze.  "I’m sorry. You agreed to a lie my little friend.” He’d whispered, allowing the magic in his eyes fade to show their true clear nature. The diamond star pupils returning after so long of being obscured.  “I’m just scared what they would do if they knew... Father...Lilly... my classmates, my village. If they knew I was the child of one seen only as a myth now. A boogieman story to tell children to make them behave.”  The little flower continued to hold his hand and squeeze it softly as he quietly cried.  “I’m older than even the oldest teachers here and yet I’m still just a scared child after all this time. Alone and just wanting a hug...”  The orchid was also crying now, little vines wrapping around his arms completely and squeezing with all its strength. End of the vine rubbing soothing little circles on his arm. “I’m sorry, you shouldn’t have to deal with this either.”  At that there was a sharp sting as Chance slapped his arm, eye a glare and other vine whipping back and forth as if he was shaking his head. He only stopped when he knew Pure Vanilla had noticed and understood, before ‘hugging’ him once again, returning to the soothing little circles.   “You... You don’t mind? That I’m a liar? I can see...your task is...mostly pointless. Just another lie to hide the truth.”  The eye ‘smiled’ at him. Patting his arm gently in agreement.   “Th-thank you. Thank you, my friend. I appreciate it more than you can know. Not...Not being the only one who knows anymore.”

The poll is over and Flour Child AU it is!!! I already have it sketched out so hopefully doesn't take me too long. :D Until then.. Here's the Flour AU doc, I have updated it with my current progress! A few ideas added around. Currently over 13k words! Here's the other main AU I'm playing with. A rough summery below. After an argument between the ancients gets out of control, PV finds himself in the hands of the beasts. Souljam damaged. Shadow Milk convinces his fellow beasts to allow PV to attempt his 'redemption' and play along so they can have their own 'pet hero' with how useful he'd be as a tool. However it backfires once it sets in that he isn't trying to redeem them out of some heroic sense of justice, but because he sees them as people. Something they didn't even have as Virtues. As Virtues they were divine, to be idolized not related to. They were above cookiekind, not one of them. As beasts they were monsters, only meant to be sealed away or crumbled. Less than even the lowest of the low. To be seen as cookies? It was novel, amusing... nice. Witches help anyone who tries to take that from them. This AU's doc is currently 6k words!

Of course, I finally start trying to use this blog more and get trapped in the haze of 'I wanna do this, I wanna do that, I wanna make this, Ooooh but what if....'

So....figured it would be a good idea to make a small poll to help break free from indecision! Make choosing no longer my problem!

Of course I'd likely also be working on the other options as breaks for the main option as bouncing around projects helps me not burn out, but,

I'm in deep. I rarely make fan art yet here I am, not just fan art but one of a handful aus bouncing around my head.

My friend mentioned they saw people making ideas where PV was Mystic Flour's child and I was like... 'Oh that's neat. I don't really see it but I love people's ideas....'

Smash cut to later that night as I'm trying to sleep and... well I got ideas.

Including context to this art below the cut as well as a google doc of jot notes I have for the idea so far. :)

Context for this art is the kids talking about how Dark Enchantress's minions had accused PV of using forbidden magic on the night of the attack on his kingdom. Not just in the fight against her but the monsters.

They didn't believe them and PV assured them that he didn't. As...

"Forbidden magic is forbidden for a reason, most often backfiring and hurting those around the user.... I would not put my people at risk like that."

That was true....since after all, his inherited magic to turn things to flour that he'd locked away for so long wasn't known in order to be forbidden.

He would always feel guilt and regret for how far he'd gone that night...believing that there had to be a better way...

A few more of the attacks I did this art fight!!!

I am so thankful for all the attacks I received this year it was SO much fun getting revenge on everyone. Plus like every year I picked an art type I wanted to practice/learn and I'm very happy finally trying to do the 'wriggle' animation for icons!! I'll def be making a few for my own OCs when I have time.

I managed to do 50 attacks this art fight and almost revenge everyone who attacked me and then some!!! (I would of revenged everyone if a few sneaky last minute attackers hadn't snuck in while I was asleep the mosnters!!!/dram /silly)

It was a very good art fight this year and I'll post more of the attacks I did on here soon! Just immediately got sucked into some trade art and cookie run au arts now that I'm free from revenges haha!
