If you recall ( or if you were dead under a rock for the late 90s ) it was 1998 in the heart of the South Bronx, when the âbiggestâ rapper alive had set the table for his brethren. BIG PUN dropped âCapital Punishmentâ and proved that, without a doubt, Latinoâs had a right to the hip - hop crown. Now⌠fast forward a few years ahead â the area is now downtown Jersey City, NJ where the rap ciphers spark like the tip of a snub nose .38. This is where k9 millitia was born: pm the sharp look of their disbelievers; on the open mouthed stares of those bopping their heads in the background. This is where Peluka da Joker & Frankie âeffdotâ Metales sharpened their bars and crafted their hooks. Infused in their pallets is the slick shifting vocabulary thatâs more than just an English/Spanish hybrid. What you hear in their voices is a Native tongue all their own. Pulsing through every vocal & lyric echoes the pride of the Taino Indians. The k9 millitia thesis is simple: no creed, color, or culture can dictate your skill behind the microphone. And just like PUN, k9 milli have never met a wall they didnât wanna kick down, a mic they couldnât smoke, or crowd they couldnât hype and brand with a symbol of their Hispanic Heritage.
@K9MILLITIA bring together their first mix tape compilation hosted by DJ Alpha Mix (@alphamix). The #OffTheLeash mix tape offers a total variety of commercial and underground. This concept for the title is like that of a dog being taken off its leash because anyone fan off hip hop no matter of genre is liable to be bitten by the sounds of this dynamic duo.

After several years of refining their fusion of caribbean influence with east coast hip hop beginning from the late 80s, Peluka The Joker & Frankie Metalz have tuned their concepts & production to better represent their combination of styles. Latin rhythm and culture with a solid hip hop foundation of bars over beats while still appealing to any fan of the overall hip hop genre.

This guy pulled out an instrument I've never seen before. Looked like a guitar with 15 strings, that played like a piano, and sounded like a sitar. #guitar #piano #sitar #indian #arabic #arab #egyptian #progressive #instruments #live #music #performance
So they asked me... "Interested in going to a Beatboxing Belly Dancing showcase?" ... and I was like, "... of course." #beatboxing #bellydancing #Egyptian #culture #dancing #musuc #guitar #sitar #indian #showcase #live #performance #arts
