Book: "Love and Freindship" by Jane Austen
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ [4/5]
Photos Taken On: 05.04.2025
So... this book was quite a bag of surprises. It was a fun and interesting read because it was Jane Austen's early writings. I read that it was from when she was fourteen and it was fun to read through them. It reminded me of my own beginnings as a writer back in high school. Also, this is the first Jane Austen book I've read and finished. I tried to read "Pride and Prejudice" when I was twelve and I borrowed the book from the public library but I've only ever read eight pages. Lol. I also tried to resd "Northanger Abbey" but... that didn't end well and I had to DNF it because... it was getting to personal and I didn't want to confront my emotions and problems with the book I was reading to get my mind off of things.
When I took the photos, I was actually pretty happy about it because it was raining earlier that day and it made me think of the rain scene proposal from "Pride and Prejudice" (2005).

"Mr. Popper's Penguins" by Richard & Florence Atwater
Been cleaning my gallery again and I found a series of photos of one of the rare days I was allowed to go out alone and I decided to check out a cafe nearby. I was reading this book because I thought it fit with the December vibes but I procrastinated so badly that I was still reading it by January. I did finish reading the book here and I thought it was so sweet and cute. I spent the rest of the day with a friend and we came back to this cafe to have a snack.
"A Christmas Tree" by Charles Dickens
I was cleaning my gallery and I came upon these photos from 2022 when I read this book. I found it really interesting and the illustrations are so cool. (I'm sorry I didn't take pictures of it more.) There were some interesting stories here. A few that actually made me scared. But it did make me think of how well these would fit in "A Christmas Carol".
"The Red House Mystery" by A.A. Milne
11.22.2024
Okay... How do I even start to describe this? Basically, it was quite long. Most of it was really speculation and it did piss me off. Lol. I do love Chapter 21 though. The end of that really made me scream. The ending is quite poorly done. I wish the main sleuthing duo had more sympathy. [SPOILERS] Anthony and Bill were quite entertaining at times but their roleplay as Sherlock and Watson became really annoying to me at times. I don't really regret buying this book since the cover looks amazing and I have been collecting books by A.A. Milne even if they were mostly the Winnie the Pooh books. I still enjoyed reading it nonetheless and it is a nice keepsake of my travel to Legazpi last September.
Also thanks to my friend, @tipsylorie for the bookmark! I started using it cause I thought it would fit well with the book. Lol.

It's Friday! I make Fridays the day where I have to read one or more chapters and write in my journal. Today was really great even if I was pretty down about a few personal things. But I'm glad that I got to visit my favorite tea house again after a long time!

I started reading this book while I was waiting in line to process my education assitance papers. So far it's been interesting since it mentioned some impressionist painters like Monet and Degas. We also have a photographer as our main character and the story is set in 1918.

"A Christmas Tree" by Charles Dickens | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So! Tomorrow is Christmas! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
I finally finished this book. I read it cause I think it was apt for the season. This is the first Dickens book I read. I'm not counting "A Christmas Carol" because I never finished it. Hahahaha!
The book was nice even though the sentences can get pretty long and I had to reread it a few times. I loved the illustrations as well. The book made me feel nostalgic of Christmases that passed, includig Christmases that I never even experienced. Haha! I got to say that the spooky stories scared me but they were so good! I couldn't stop reading them! Hahaha!
So far that's all that I wanna say. Other than I hope you guys enjoy your Christmas! Enjoy your holidays! 😊✌️

"Killing Orders" by Sarah Paretsky | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I finished this 11 days ago but I've been swept by all the festivities that I barely had time to talk about this here and in my bookblr. Now that I'm here, I'd like to say that it was one fun ride. I didn't like the protagonist at first since she seemed a little to rude and sarcastic for my taste but I grew to love her as I read on and saw her different sides. She's like that family member who seems to always force you to do things you don't want to but you know is good for you. Haha! The story was interesting and I am a little guilty for including our little St. Niño in this photoset because of the main plot of having discord inside a Catholic church. Haha!
But yes, the story is a little long but I found the process V.I. Warshawski had as she went through all the clues and tragedies were interesting and I loved it.
