While I agree that D&D isnt a good cyberpunk ttrpg (and trying to mod it into being one is a fools errand) a lot of people *like* the complexity of D&D and want something equally in depth but also not D&D but also don't want to learn a new complex system and they chose a D&D hack as a sort of compramise since thats whats most comfortable to them. Not saying this brings about the best RPG experience or is whats best for the community but you don't convince anyone by misrepresenting the 'everything should just be a 5E hack' crowd.

#i dont like DnD's complexity tbc #i think its portrail of magic is too clinical #its portrayal of medieval combat lacks violence #and its not fun enough or tactical enough for me to accept these things #also i tend to like heratige investagory games more than combat games #im talking about call of cthulhu although Im playing blade runner rn and I much prefer how it handles skills IMO #not that I hate crunchy combat either; I like lancer and I've had fun with only war; which is more crunch than game sometimes #so many charts....#also i can not state this enough; fuck hasbro; they are anti-human
