I have theories and I'd like to share them so here it goes.

Straight up control? That didn't work, look at his first vessel. Will fought back, so he swung the opposite way. Making life TOO good for the kids and 2 broke free. So a middle ground. Show him what could happen and then prove it by pushing him to come out to everyone. He can't fabricate that and create a perfect world where Mike loves Will back since will doesn't believe Mike could ever love him back. So make him realize nobody would accept him. But everyone important did. So he pivoted, make him miss things, hide people's reactions, tweek them a bit through Wills eyes. Keep him busy and focused enough on other things so he can continue to use his first vessel through his subconscious.

I think patron is a lot more likely to see responsibilities as a legitimate reason to not go on vacation.

Roman has literally had full blown arguments with Logan over whether or not Thomas should throw everything to the wind and focus solely on dreams.

This may be a hot take, but I think Remus would be a great driver. He knows all the traffic laws and where the police like to campout.

Don't get me wrong, he's an absolute terror to ride along with. But he's got quick reaction times, good object permeance, and good incentive to not get pulled over.
