Floyd Mayweather Jr. Vs. Conor McGregor Press Tour: 5 Crazy Takeaways From The Los Angeles Event (Prt.2)
Conor Was Out of His Element
Floyd Mayweather Jr., background left, listens as Conor McGregor speaks during a news conference at Staples Center Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in Los Angeles. The two will fight in a boxing match in Las Vegas on Aug. 26. (AP Photo/Jae C. Hong)
The crowd was pro-McGregor, but even they couldn't make the UFC lightweight champion feel comfortable once the fighters had their turns on the mic.
The biggest reason Mayweather won the trash talk session was that McGregor was not allowed to overtalk him or to interrupt. Those are the two tactics he has used against every opponent he's had in the UFC. McGregor is witty, loud and audacious. Those traits are golden in a UFC presser, but not quite as useful for a boxing press eventâespecially one in such a large venue.
McGregor spoke first and Mayweather sat quietly. Once it was Mayweather's turn to speak, McGregor kept trying to interrupt, but his mic was turned off and the lack of control clearly bothered him. No matter how much McGregor yelled, he wasn't the loudest guy in the room. Thus he couldn't take over the event as he has so many times in the past.
Conor's Suit was...Interesting
McGregor made a statement with his flashy and profane suit.Â
â Brett Okamoto (@bokamotoESPN) July 11, 2017
This has apparently been the message McGregor has had for anyone who doubts his ability to pull off what would be the biggest upset in sports history.
Boxing vs. MMA
One very interesting set of comments from McGregor seemed to demean the sport of boxing. He referred to the sport as "a very limited form of fighting with a lot of rules."
Conor McGregor says he looks forward to going back to a real fight and returning to MMA after this#MayMacWorldTour
â Damon Martin (@DamonMartin) July 11, 2017
Conor's fight synopsis vs. Floyd? "If this was a true fight, it wouldn't even take ONE round." https://t.co/QUhJtD96uL
â FOX Sports: UFC (@UFCONFOX) July 11, 2017
McGregor probably doesn't care, but those aren't comments that figure to endear him to boxing purists.
While this fight was initially about two of the biggest personalities in sports today, this could add an explosive layer to the boxing vs. MMA debate. There's already a rift that exists between fans who pledge exclusive allegiance to one of the sports. Having the most recognizable figures from boxing and MMA compete against one another highlights the division even more.
Educated combat sports fans genuinely respect boxing and MMA, but let's be honest, there's a large group that would not fit into that category.
Uncomfortable Moment
You have a lot of writings? Do not miss pay back from Mayweather on August 26: Edubirdie.com
There was an unfortunate segment of the press event. McGregor made a comment directed toward Mayweather that had some very nasty racial undertones. It's possible he didn't mean it the way it came off, but anytime a white man tells a black man to "dance for me, boy" it's going to cause a stirâand rightfully so.
You can hear the comment in the video below and see some of the reaction just below the video:
"I'm the IRS and I'm gonna tax that a**!" -- @FloydMayweather to @TheNotoriousMMAhttps://t.co/KZRuIb4Nmq
â FOX Sports: UFC (@UFCONFOX) July 11, 2017
"Dance for me, boy!" Ohh, ohh. Does he know what he just said?
â Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) July 11, 2017
I don't like that Floyd was up there in an American flag hoodie, but I REALLY hated McGregor telling Floyd, "Dance for me, boy!" He gotta go
â BC(@MrCraw4D) July 11, 2017
McGregor "Dance for me boy" line contained a racial undertone. Regardless of his intentions that was very insensitive of him.
â FOmar18 (@fuadomar14) July 11, 2017
So there are at least 5 articles about McGregor telling Mayweather "dance for me boy" including TMZ and the guardian now.
â MMA Curator (@MMACurator) July 12, 2017
Conor McGregor tells Floyd Mayweather, "Dance for me, boy" Hmmm... 100% playing up that subtle racism card again. Ever so carefully. #MayMac
â Maximum Power (@TheMaximumPower) July 12, 2017
We could pass this off as ignorance on McGregor's part, but here's the problem when you're as smart and well-informed as McGregor. It's hard to believe he doesn't know those are offensive terms for African-Americans. This is even more unfortunate when you consider McGregor called Nate Diaz a cholo gangster ahead of UFC 196.
Mayweather is no saint in many ways, including those related to using racially insensitive remarks toward opponents, but Money's past transgressions don't make McGregor's potential offense any more acceptable. I'm all for trash talk, but there have to be boundaries if this is going to remain entertainment and not a microcosm of one of the ugliest problems in our society.
Conor Will Be More Prepared for Toronto
On Wednesday, the tour moves to Toronto and I'm guessing McGregor will know better what to expect. Hopefully, he regrets his "dance" comment and is also ready for yet another massive show and war of words with Mayweather.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. Vs. Conor McGregor Press Tour: 5 Crazy Takeaways From The Los Angeles Event (Prt.1)
Don't Believe The Hype, People Are Into This Fight
This fight has its critics. Some believe it's a mismatch (I would agree), others think it's bad for boxing and/or MMA (I disagree), but it's easy to see that not everyone is excited about August 26. That said, there's an undeniable and seemingly insatiable appetite for this matchup.
ESPN's Darren Rovell tweeted this image showing how Mayweather-McGregor related terms were dominating social media shortly after the presser.
Looks like the critics were right. No one is interested in Mayweather-McGregor pic.twitter.com/qOwv2JB5RO
â Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) July 11, 2017
CBS Sports' Brian Campbell seems to have placed it in the guilty pleasure category.
"Can't look away." That should be the tagline. #MayGregorhttps://t.co/4kBzkUwS0A
â Brian Campbell (@BCampbellCBS) July 11, 2017
Whatever the case, Mayweather vs. McGregor is a big deal, whether we like it or not.
The Staredowns Were Epic
If you missed staredowns, and don`t want to miss a fight, but have a lot of writings : Edubirdie.com
It's been tough finding images for the lead picture when writing Mayweather-McGregor articles. After Tuesday's presser, there will be a plethora of images to choose from when searching Getty and the Associated Press.
The epic staredowns may have provided the best photo opportunities. The first one was especially interesting as Mayweather stared at an animated McGregor on the other side of the cage.

â Steve Noah (@Steve_OS) July 11, 2017
The second and final staredown saw the two men jawing at each other in typical boxing presser fashion.

â UFC (@ufc) July 11, 2017
If the heat between the two men isn't authentic, both deserve recognition for their acting skills.
Conor is a Lot Bigger Than Floyd
Floyd Mayweather Jr., left, and Conor McGregor exchange words during a news conference at Staples Center on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in Los Angeles. The two will fight in a boxing match in Las Vegas on Aug. 26. (AP Photo/Jae C. Hong)
One of the first things you notice when the fighters stand nose to nose is McGregor's size advantage. His head, neck, and shoulders are massive. I don't think I've ever seen Floyd face-off with an opponent who owned this big of an edge in sizeâfrom a mass standpoint.
Floyd is the A-Side
Want to be free on August 26, but you have a lot of paper work: Edubirdie.com

If there was any question about which fighter was the A-Side in the negotiations, those should have been laid to rest. Mayweather was announced second and he got an opportunity to speak second as well. Both of these positions are genuinely reserved for the fighter who is the A-Side.
Nevermind the fact that the fight is a boxing match...hello. McGregor is the biggest star in MMA, but Mayweather is one of the biggest in the world and we saw the difference on Tuesday.
Round 1 Goes to Floyd
Before this event began, I predicted McGregor would win the war of words; I was wrong and so was Fox Sports' Chris Broussard:
I thought Conor would win the trash talk contest, but gotta give that one to Floyd
â Chris Broussard (@Chris_Broussard) July 11, 2017
Mayweather's trash talk was more thought out and he was prepared for the most obvious dig heading his way. Here's how Mayweather responded to McGregor bringing up his tax bill:
Floyd Mayweather showed the crowd a $100M cheque and then told Conor McGregor he's the IRS and that he's gonna tax his ass.
â Laceupboxing (@Laceupboxing) July 11, 2017
Here are a few more of Mayweather's best one-liners:

McGregor also returned to his Mystic Mac persona when he predicted he'd knock Mayweather out within four rounds.

â theScore (@theScore) July 11, 2017
Mayweather took his time, paced and delivered all of the lines he wanted to and McGregor seemed a little overwhelmed by the moment during his time on the mic. It was like watching a WWE promo between a very experienced and established character and one struggling to find his or herself in the presence of a legend.
5 Crazy Things You Need To Know About Avengers: Infinity War (Prt.2)
5. Vision Will Probably Die
Though a number of actors have already been confirmed to appear in both Infinity War movies, such as Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Benedict Cumberbatch, curiously Paul Bettany's vision isn't one of them.
This seems rather odd considering how powerful he is and how useful he could be in the fight against Thanos (or whoever the villain will be) in Avengers 4, and when you factor in that his head contains the Mind Stone, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that Thanos will probably rip it out of his head and kill him in Infinity War's third act.
Marvel often finds a way to skirt around the most predictable option, but this just makes so much sense.
4. Actors Didn't Receive Scripts Before Shooting Began
Somewhat ridiculously, by the time shooting began on January 23rd, numerous cast members had yet to receive scripts, most vocally Elizabeth Olsen, Jeremy Renner and Dave Bautista, and in early January Chris Hemsworth also confirmed he hadn't read anything yet.
While for just about any other production this would be cause for alarm bells, when it comes to Marvel this is actually pretty standard fare in order to ensure secrecy, and Hemsworth himself put it perfectly: "[Itâs] a little nerve-racking a couple weeks out, isnât it? But this is the way Marvel does it."
While it's far from ideal for any actor trying to prepare for a part, it's a method that's worked well so far, so one can't knock it too much.
3. Captain Marvel Is Definitely In It
Want read more facts and spend less time on writing: Edubirdie.com
Brie Larson was cast as Captain Marvel a while back, though there never seemed to be a consistent word on whether or not she would be appearing in Infinity War...until a casting sheet for the movie leaked last December.
The casting call mentioned Larson and Captain Marvel by name as appearing in the film, which makes it clear that she'll have some sort of involvement ahead of her own solo movie releasing just two months before The Avengers 4.
Whether she'll simply appear in Infinity War's post-credits scene to set up her own solo movie or will have a more substantial part remains to be seen, but she'll be in there somewhere.
2. The Avengers Definitely Head Into Space
One of the most tantalising questions about the Guardians of the Galaxy joining The Avengers is this: does it mean we'll get to see Iron Man and company heading into space?
Well, video from the first day of shooting shows Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland and Chris Pratt standing in an expansive wasteland that looks far divorced from anything you'd expect to see on Earth.
As such, it's pretty safe to assume that at least Iron Man, Spider-Man and Star-Lord somehow wind up on an alien planet, which has huge potential in terms of the MCU's expansion, by teaming the more grounded, Earth-bound characters with those from outer space. Get hype.
1. It's The First Movie To Be Shot Entirely On Digital IMAX
Infinity War isn't merely content to have one of the biggest casts and hugest budgets in movie history, but it's also taking another milestone, by also being the first ever film to be shot entirely in IMAX DMR, a digitally processed version of the gigantic film format.
It makes sense that one of the biggest blockbusters ever takes advantage of cutting-edge film formats, again proving just how much money Disney expects to make off this gargantuan project.
So many blockbusters feature just certain set-pieces in the IMAX format, but Infinity War should serve up no half-measures (and no awkward aspect ratio-switching during the movie).
5 Crazy Facts About Game of Thrones
1. THEREâS AN UNAIRED PILOT.
The first pilot, directed by Spotlight writer-director Tom McCarthy, was so terrible that it had to be shelved and reshot. âWe got everything wrong on a very basic level with the writing of it,â show co-creator David Benioff told Variety. One of the biggest problems? None of the friends he and Weiss invited to watch the pilot ârealized that Jaime and Cersei were brother and sister, which is a major, major plot point that we had somehow failed to establish.â
2. CATELYN STARK AND DAENERYS TARGARYEN WERE ORIGINALLY PLAYED BY OTHER ACTORS.
In the original pilot, Catelyn Stark and Daenerys Targaryen were played by Jennifer Ehle and Tamzin Merchant, respectively; by the time the show aired, they had been replaced by Michelle Fairley and Emilia Clarke. George R.R. Martin, who wrote the book series on which Game of Thrones is based, also had a cameo in the original pilot as a guest at Daenerys and Khal Drogoâs wedding.
3. THERE WERE A BUNCH OF OTHER CASTING CLOSE CALLS.
If you need more time for GoT and less for your paper works: Edubirdie.com
Ehle and Merchant werenât Game of Thronesâs only could-have-beens. Gillian Anderson turned down an unspecified role on the show, as did The Wire's Dominic West. (Judging by the fact that, per West, the role would have involved shooting âin Reykjavik for six months,â it was probably Mance Rayder, a role that eventually went to CiarĂĄn Hinds.) The Hunger Games franchiseâs Sam Claflin auditioned for Jon Snow and Viserys Targaryen, and Outlander star Sam Heughan auditioned for a variety of roles, including Renly Baratheon and Loras Tyrell, seven times.
4. PETER DINKLAGE THOUGHT THE SHOW HAD BEEN CANCELED.
After the pilot was picked up, David Benioff pranked Peter Dinklage by calling him and telling him the show had been canceled. It was six hours before Dinklage learned the truth.
5. SANSA STARK ADOPTED HER DIREWOLF IN REAL LIFE.
Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, adopted Zunni, the Northern Inuit dog that played her pet direwolf on the seriesâ first season. âGrowing up I always wanted a dog, but my parents never wanted one,â Turner told Coventry Telegraph in 2013. âWe kind of fell in love with my characterâs direwolf, Lady, on set. We knew Lady died and they wanted to re-home her. My mum persuaded them to let us adopt her.â
5 Crazy Benefits of squats and why every girl should try doing squat exercises
1. Squat exercises improve your circulation, so that you can forget about the cellulite!
The muscle stretching that you get from doing the squats gets the blood pumping throughout your entire body and improves your overall health. Good circulation means that more nutrients and oxygen is getting to all the vital organs and muscles, throughout your body; and yes, you can say âbye, byeâ to cellulite, if you do squats regularly.
2. Squat exercises are even good for the digestion
Squats help you to remove waste from the body. The muscular action of the squat exercise improves the flow of fluids in your body and eases the passing of waste through your bowels, so it helps to keep you regular too.
3. Squat exercises help build muscles throughout your body
If you want to squat, but have a lot of paper work: Edubirdie.com
Even though you are working primarily on your leg muscles, squats also promote muscle growth around your entire body. The exercise is so intense that it creates an anabolic environment and makes the body release hormones, that are vital for the growth of muscle tissue; squats improve strength of your upper and lower body.
4. Squats are non-impact and donât put a strain on your back
Other means of working out can put undue strain on your knees, ankles and back, whereas squats, being a low impact exercise, do not have this effect, which is particularly useful to know, if you have back problems or weakened knees or ankles.
5. You can do squat exercises anywhere and you donât need any accessories or equipment
You donât need a gym or any equipment, so this extremely effective exercise can be done pretty much anywhere. You can do squats in the privacy of your own home or you can do a squat mini-work out in the park when you walk your dog.
5 Crazy Things You Need To Know About Avengers: Infinity War (Prt.1)
10. Thor Gets A New Weapon
Marvel Studios dropped a video last week that announced the commencement of shooting on Infinity War, and one of the more interesting images in the clip was concept art from the movie, of Thor fighting alongside Rocket Raccoon.
As if that wasn't cool enough, we can see that Thor isn't in fact wielding Mjolnir, but it rather looks like Jarnbjorn, an axe Thor used in the comics prior to obtaining the Hammer to End All Hammers.
It's known that much of Thor: Ragnarok's plot involves the Asgardian being separated from Mjolnir, so it's entirely possible that he isn't able to get it back in time for Infinity War, which is also a clever way of nerfing The Avengers' overall power during their first encounter with Thanos.
He'll probably get it back in time for the inevitable rematch against Thanos in the fourth Avengers film, though.
9. It's Shooting Concurrently With Avengers 4 (But It's Not A 2-Part Movie)
The two upcoming Avengers movies were originally announced to be a two-part saga under the same Infinity War banner, but it was confirmed last year that plans have changed, and instead the two movies will be closely linked but not merely a movie split in two (likely owing to recent negative publicity surrounding two-parter films in general).
Though they're not one and the same, Infinity War and its currently unnamed follow-up are in fact shooting concurrently, such that the cast and crew may be shooting Infinity War one day and its follow-up the next, making it by far one of the most ambitious and mind-bogglingly complex productions in movie history.
Hopefully this won't result in the two movies feeling too samey, and if they pull it off, Disney are going to be swimming in all the money.
8. Peter Dinklage Is Being Eyed For A Role
If you need help to write your paper: Edubirdie.com
It was revealed in early January that Marvel Studios is courting the legendary Peter Dinklage to appear in Infinity War, to the delight of nerds everywhere.
It didn't take long for speculation to run rampant on who the Game of Thrones star might be playing, but the overwhelming majority of fans seem to believe he might be up for Pip (sidekick of Adam Warlock) or Modoc.
Fanboy conjecture is so often wrong, though, so it's entirely possible he's playing somebody else from Marvel's immense roster of characters, or perhaps even an original creation. That's assuming the talks don't fall through, of course.
7. Thanos Will Get A Lot Of Screen Time In The First Act
One of the most frustrating aspects of the MCU so far is how little we've seen of Thanos since his debut in 2012's The Avengers, showing up for a scene here and there, but so far having screen time totaling just three minutes.
Thankfully, one of Infinity War's co-writers, Christopher Markus, confirmed that Thanos won't be conspicuously absent in this movie, and will figure heavily in the movie's first act. Markus said, "We donât get an element of surprise. Everyone knows heâs coming...You can count on a lot of scenes where we illuminate a lot about him very early.â
Considering how much the big purple guy needs to make up for lost time, this can only be a great thing.
6. It May Feature Up To 70 Characters
The Russo Brothers brought fanboy excitement and intrigue to a fever pitch when they made the off-hand comment that the film's production office has a board with "like 67 characters" on it, causing many fans to immediately assume the film would feature exactly that amount.
The brothers later clarified that this wasn't a hard-and-fast number, but merely the significant existing MCU characters who could appear, not discounting those they choose to omit and other comic book heroes they ultimately decided to include in the film.
Considering that Civil War alone has around 30 characters of note, it's not a huge leap to conclude that a film also encompassing the Guardians of the Galaxy among others could end up around the 60 or 70 mark.
5 Crazy Facts About Conor McGregor(Prt.1)
1) Conor McGregor was raised in small town called âCrumlinâ
in the suburbs of South Dublin and this is where the learned his craft as a MMA fighter in the early days. He went to âGaelscoilâ and âGaelcholĂĄisteâ the irish medium schools in dublin.
2) He used to get bullied because of being easy target due to his shorter stature and size growing up. Bullying is one reason why he grew closer to combat sport growing up.
He himself recalls that âI had a face which bullies liked beating upâ. Now he attends seminars in schools giving lectures on how to deal with bullying at different levels in schools.
3) McGregor is a trained âPLUMBERâ: Conor McGregor trained as a plumber in his early 20s and just before his first high profile fight in UFC he picked a a $180 check from the âsocial welfareâ.
If you need help to write your papers: Edubirdie.com
4) McGregor like most europeanâs kids played football
at young age. He played football for âLourdes Celticâ and his school teams before he formerly got into boxing and MMA. He was a vivid support of âManchester Unitedâ and his father recalls that at young age he was always kitted up in Manchester United shirt. Now he does not really care much about football or United.
5) McGregor had a stint as a boxer in his youth and went on to win youth championship before giving up boxing and focusing on MMA.
