Perhaps my biggest gripe with antizionist jews is that they seem to insist on identifying themselves as antizionist or otherwise politically "clean" before identifying themselves as jewish. I saw a video the other day of a woman talking about medieval jewish wedding rings and she opened with "I'm an anti-authoritarian jewish art historian". What could being anti-authoritarian possibly have to do with jewish wedding rings. It's not that I'm against being anti-authoritarian, but identifying your political views above your judaism always reads as marking yourself as "one of the good ones". It's like saying "nooooooooo don't harass me! Harass those other evil Jews who see an ounce of nuance in the situation".

Idk if this is a controversial opinion but just because I’m a pale Jew doesn’t make me white.

People love demonising Jews for being “white colonisers” and jump on any pale Jew to prove their point but being pale =/= white like sorry not sorry. Calling me white is like calling someone who’s a pale Asian white. I am not even Ashkenazi not that it should matter but skin color varies a lot in my family. Even my siblings and father are a lot darker than me but we have the exact same ancestry, so how am I white and they’re not?? People just seem to forget how ethnicities work and just love to assume stuff about you based on your skin color and call it progressive. I have experienced so much antisemitism how am I exactly “a privileged white woman”?? Not to mention that I don’t look white at all, I’m just pale???

In the holocaust we were hated for not being white and now we’re hated because people are claiming we’re white like the antisemites can’t choose. Jews of any origin can’t be white.
