Introduction and F.A.Q.
What is Kavrillia?
As a writer, I've been developing my own original universe for over 25 years. Kavrillia is the planet where it all takes place. The manuscript I've written encompasses 375,152 words (or about 784 single-spaced pages) at last count. I would classify it as fantasy, although there's no magic and it's open to interpretation whether any of the deities actually exist or not. Still, the world and all its species are completely fictional, born from my imagination.
Where can I learn more about Kavrillia?
I have an extensive website at World Anvil with articles about every character, deity, location, organization, flora and fauna, etc. Just expand the link tree on the left side under "World Codex" to see them all. There are also maps, family trees, and timelines.
Who (and what) are these characters?
My OCs are Kavrillians. The two main ethnic groups of Kavrillians are Lanarians and Vincarans.
The main character is Empress Vazali, a young woman who suddenly inherits the throne to the Lanarian Empire a few decades earlier than expected and must try to balance her duty with her own search for happiness.
The other most significant characters are:
Xeebec, Vazali's scheming, snobbish, insufferable brother
Bronzar, the serious and secretive chief of the empress' security detail
Delzeena, a homeless orphan with a mysterious past
Zadie, a headstrong soldier who is prone to biting off more than she can chew--then finding a way to chew it anyway
Abarok, Zadie's partner and the comic relief with a heart of gold
Zalani, a sophisticated femme fatale with her own agenda
Xorax, a teenager who believes the god of war and vengeance has given him a vendetta to complete at all costs--whether he wants to or not
Sicara, an acolyte at the temple of the sometimes-misunderstood goddess of renewal, Irokori
